Excellent location just across from the beach. Wonderful staff, very accomodating.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Superb breakfast with fabulous views of Copacabana. Very comfortable rooms.

The advertised lateral view of the sea is in fact only visible when out on the balcony. From the room itself one faces the buildings on the other side of a narrow street. The hotel has only 2 lifts which makes for long waits (interminable at breakfast time).

The location, just in front of the Copacabana beach, Metro and busses can be reached in 5 minutes walk.

The prices for local phone calls are not acceptable at all, even worse that there is no pricing sheet in the room. If you need to reconfirm a flight and have to wait in the calling center line for 30 minutes it costs you 25 Euros.

Perfect place to stay, particularly for those who come to Rio for the first time. You will gey a very good memory for your visit because the location of the hotel.

Ijust feel that the price of room is really expensive. I did not like the hotel charges guests high cost for internet connection. That practice is out of the trend.

Staff very friendly.. all speak fluent English at reception. The bellboys and porters, even the cleaners also speak basic English. Room was small, but very comfortable and clean. Restaurant and swimming pool on top have great views.

The reception staff were excellent, especially their English, were always ready to offer assistance and provided us with lots of local information and recommendations. The view from our room was magnificent.

The hotel was clean modern, amazing staff and just perfect. We would highly recommend this hotel and I would go back if returning to Rio. We overlooked the Copacabana beach from our room, which was beautiful. Our room was stunning and so clean.

The balcony off our room overlooking Copacabana Beach wass wonderful. We had a lovely stay at the Porto Bay Rio - the room was excellent and the staff were very helpful. We would certainly stay there again if we went back to Rio.

it wasn't a very funny adventure that the water in my room (which was on the 8th floor) was cut off in the middle of the afternoon while I was having a shower(!). But of course such a thing can happen anywhere.

We stayed in all 5 star and the main 4 star hotels in Ipanema, but tried due to the reviews the Porto Bay hotel in Copacabana. It was an excelent choise! Perfect service by the staf, very nice rooms and nice pool location on top of the roof. Where all the other hotels in Ipanema and Copacabana are old and their facilities poor, the Porto Bay hotel offers what it promisses.
