Staff very friendly.. all speak fluent English at reception. The bellboys and porters, even the cleaners also speak basic English. Room was small, but very comfortable and clean. Restaurant and swimming pool on top have great views. the day tours they offered at reception were about three times the price you can pay at other tour operators |

The rooftop pool has excellent views of the beach and the breakfast was great! The room was a bit small and the bath very small given the price paid. |

The reception staff were excellent, especially their English, were always ready to offer assistance and provided us with lots of local information and recommendations. The view from our room was magnificent. |

The location The photos were far away from the reality. The hotel is older, the rooms very different, bathrooms old and not fresh. The earlier rewievs was not accurate. When I was in the reception many guest complained about the hotel. |

The hotel was clean modern, amazing staff and just perfect. We would highly recommend this hotel and I would go back if returning to Rio. We overlooked the Copacabana beach from our room, which was beautiful. Our room was stunning and so clean. |

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is decent with ample choice. Nice views over Copacabana beach, especially from the rooftop pool area. The location is perfect but the surrounding area is a bit rundown and dodgy at night. |

Beautiful spot for sunrise and sunset. Estonishing view on twilight time ,on the Corcovado from pool welcoming jesture: champania! Delightful service in recepsion and breakfast special jesture with any food avaleble Please, make it happen again, oh god! But let it be on better WEATHER.......and cheaper |

The balcony off our room overlooking Copacabana Beach wass wonderful. We had a lovely stay at the Porto Bay Rio - the room was excellent and the staff were very helpful. We would certainly stay there again if we went back to Rio. |

The roof top pool bar is very nice with good atmosfere and beautifull view I stayed on the 5th floor and sometimes it was a bit noisie because of the cleaning girls station is on the fith flour. So better ask to stay higher |

especially the location (beach, bank, restaurants, some shopping), good size of room (and of bathroom), breakfast, friendliness of staff it wasn't a very funny adventure that the water in my room (which was on the 8th floor) was cut off in the middle of the afternoon while I was having a shower(!). But of course such a thing can happen anywhere. |

The location, near the beach and if yo go on business this is 15 min. by taxi to the city center. One day the forgot to clean up my room. |

We stayed in all 5 star and the main 4 star hotels in Ipanema, but tried due to the reviews the Porto Bay hotel in Copacabana. It was an excelent choise! Perfect service by the staf, very nice rooms and nice pool location on top of the roof. Where all the other hotels in Ipanema and Copacabana are old and their facilities poor, the Porto Bay hotel offers what it promisses. |

size of rooms, balcony with sea view, modern design, gym and sauna, location on the Copacabana beach but close to Center of the City, view from the roof elevator slow considering that they are only 2 and there are 20 floors ! but really a detail |

The staff all spoke very good English and were very helpful about recomendations The excerscise room needs equipment. Also they would fetch us private cabs and I thought the city cabs were just fine. The city cabs were much cheaper. |
