Nice staff, good location and nice view. The staff arranged a boat trip which is the thing to do in Araial do Cabo and was fantastic.

The location is on a residential street which is quite poor and untidy which did not give a good impression on arrival but once we got used to it felt quite safe. It is a very short walk to the beach but out of season even at the weekend it was dead at night.

Great position overlooking the town, and very easy to get to Praia Grande. Nicely laded-out gardens, with a big terrace and bar, and good decor throughout.

The staff seemed rather unhappy and not particularly welcoming. We asked for some clothes to be laundered, but were told this is not possible, even though there must be a laundry room in the hotel. Instead were given directions to a laundry a few streets away - you don't really want to be sitting in a launderette during your holiday! And I know it's common in Brazil but at the bar they just had the big television blaring out some cartoons in Portuguese, which kind of spoils a nice Caipirinha watching the sunset. Why not play some music?

This is a very nice looking, actually - quite impressive - pousada. The owner is German, we were told, and one can see that in the general layout, beauty and organization of the buildings and grounds. The rooms are huge, beds are comfortable, the restaurant is nice, and it's only 200 meters to a glorious beach, all this is very nice indeed. This is probably the best place to stay in Arraial do Cabo.

A few issues: Why assign the worst rooms in your pousada when it is half empty? That is bad policy. We were given 2 rooms (we were 4 persons) toward the noisy street, when there were many better rooms available. Most of the staff seemed rather sullen and depressed. They have no beach towels, not free and not for a fee either. A fancy beach town pousada should have beach towels available for its guests, especially since it is forbidden to take the regular towels. This is just for information (not criticism): This pousada is completely unsuitable for guests with small children. The balcony railings have huge gaps, enough for a small elephant to squeeze through. Dangerous if you are traveling with small children - you have to watch them every second. Room Tip: Definitely insist on a room away from the noisy street.
