In front of Pousada do Baluarte you will find the 16th-century Forte de Santo Antônio, where the meetings of the angola capoeira group led by master João Pequeno are held.
A sumptuous breakfast of tropical fruit, juices, cakes and fresh bread is spread out daily on the airy varanda.
The evening meals served up with good conversation on hot summer nights are another speciality of the house.
