Pousada dos Quatro Cantos

I stood there participating in an Convention in the very near Exhibition Center. Being picked up at the Airport, I had immediately a guided tour by the very friendly Taxi driver - great. Once arrived at the Hotel, I had a very warm welcome. My spacious room had a balcony, a fantastic hammock and was located in a very quiet angle of the Hotel. Breakfast is fantastic, good choice of fruit, very traditional food and classical dishes everybody expects form a place to stay. The staff is friendly and whatever you might need, they try to help wherever they can. I felt as if I was at home. Lunch and dinner was served and I enjoyed some local dishes. The charming atmosphere and the very well conserved old building makes la Pousada dos Quatro Cantos the best address in Olinda. No complains and I will be back!

My room (118) was a unique design with an enclosed balcony equipped with a platform that allowed me to see the street. The building is gorgeous, the staff gracious, and the location close to food and music but not noisy.

No serious complaints...but an overhead fan would be a nice, green way to cool the room.

Great staff. Quaint building and gardens. Olinda very interesting and hotel central. Pool not big but clean and adequate. Clean by most Brazil standards. Breakfasts very good if you are interested in local foods and specialties.

Downstairs rooms are small and dark - a bit like a basement- we asked to move and were put in a better room. Room fittings are showing their age.

Artful and art filled internal decoration, excellent breakfast in a stylish breakfast room, relaxed atmosphere.

Limited language skills of the staff (except for Suelane), a little overpriced (but so are all hotels in the area) for the level of comfort and amenities, no lunch and dinner services.

An enchanting setting in the magical small city of Olinda. We chanced to stay there during the pre-Carnaval rehearsals and enjoyed our "front row seats" on the hotel balcony.

There was a small misunderstanding about cleaning the room when one of us had to stay back due to illness but it was easily resolved.

Excellent breakfasts, lovely 19C building with large shaded courtyard and swimming pool

Could do with better organised storage space in the bedroom

+ Nice and copious breakfast. + Relaxed atmosphere. + Good location in centre of Olinda, nearby most interesting sites of the old town, and nearby some good restaurants.

Only minor points: - Room does not stay dark when the sun rises (so not ideal for people who need a dark room to be able to sleep). - English knowledge of most of the staff could be better.

Such a beautiful setting in this old colonial city. The hotel is perfectly locaated. The staff was wonderful, and the morning breakfast was regional, authentic and and never ending. Lovely pool nad rooms had ac which was needed in hot December. Easy transfer to and from airport.

Just bad luck for us, but the power went out for the area around us, which meant the ac didn't work, and the water didn't work either since it is pumped from a cistern. This was fixed, but then the water went out again for another reason. We used this opportunity to upgrade to a deluxe room upstairs and had a wonderful visit. Want to return

A bit noisy

The staff were without exception friendly and helpful. My room was beautiful raised up by a staircase with views over the pool from two shuttered windows. The atmosphere of the pousada is intimate and relaxing. It felt almost felt like staying in your own private villa.

When I asked the reception to help me by making a few calls for me I was charged for them without being told I would be charged. If I had been told I wouldn't have asked. However this was the fault in service.

What a charming hotel this is! Located in Olinda in an old colonial style house, friendly Eng speaking staff, a nice welcome drink, safe neighbourhood, little shops and art galleries nearby, a nice cafe on the corner where the locals meet, a small but refreshing swimming pool in a beautiful garden with plenty of shade. I would go back immediatly and recomment it to everybody. If you have the time, ask reception to reserve a taxi to the Brennand Institute. It s a day trip, but really worth visiting. Check it out, certainly of you like art and history. And don t forget to enjoy the incredible breakfast full of local foods.

Actually there are nog negative things about this hotel. Maybe one, if you like beach life, don t go to Olinda. Olinda has no nice beaches.

Isolamento acústico dos quartos, custo/beneficio. Esperava mais pelo preço da diária. Não tem estacionamento. Não voltaria!

No Centro da cidade

Area ruidosa (Cães latindo parte da noite); Quarto no sótão (sem vista ou varanda). Cheiro de esgoto na casa de banho. Café da manhã fraco... você va dever pagar para ter um suco de laranja.

Do atendimento, do café da manhã, da tranqüilidade. A pousada é muito agradável e aconchegante. Pretendemos retornar no próximo Carnaval.

O apartamento podia ser um pouco mais espaçoso.

- die Freundlichkeit des Personals am Empfang - der vom Hotel organisierte Flughafentransfer ist völlig überteuert - Leichte Schimmelprobleme im Badezimmer und Pool, was sich in Brasilien wohl aber nicht vermeiden lässt

Schönes Haus in perfekter Lage für die Stadtbesichtigung von Olinda.
