Don't go there! They serve the leftovers from breakfast from previous days (old cheese, fruits cut long before judging by their crust, softness, bad taste) and when we asked for water we got tap water from the kitchen. The WiFi is almost nonexistent although they have a tax for it. The cherry on the top, the staff instead of helping us by calling us a decent-priced taxi for the airport or explaining how to get by bus to the Argentian waterfall, they tried to rip us off asking the double of the normal price to take us there. We managed on our own to find the info we needed, the bus for Argentina is very close and the first taxi driver asked 30 Reais less to take us to the airport. A very bad experience.
friendly staff, very good breakfast, fresch juice in breakfast, localisation just 100 meters from very good bar/restaurant Emporio Com Arte -
a litle small rooms
Staff is polite but a bit stoic. Also, they are not very helpfull in arranging trips to the park (let's be honnest, that's why you're going), because they are not transparrant about your options and just constantly try to sell you the most expensive deal. Understandable, but annoying nonetheless.
The air conditioning was terribly loud
After an extensive research on best places to stay in Foz do Iguazu, our choice went to Pousada Evelina. And we absolutely never regretted it! Although we had a late arrival (around 1 PM), Alysson kindly welcomed us and already told us about things to do. After a good night sleep and good breakfast, we went to the reception again to help us with what was best to do in the relatively short time (2 days) we had. It turned out that visiting the Brazilian side could easily be done in 1 afternoon (by catching the public bus just around the corner) and for the Argentinian side one day had to be reserved. Ivan helped us tremendously with arranging this. The hotel private bus driver who brought us to the Argentinian side - Edson - turned out to be an enormously funny guy, telling us all things about the Indian (Guarani) history of Iguassu. On top of all that, we had some time to chill at the pool and pool table, which was a definite plus as well. Really, for the money we spent this is absolutely the best place!!!!
Close to bus stop.
Very unfriendly staf!! I dont know why they were that unfriendly but it was really annoying. They do not like to give information on how you can go on yourself to the falls. They want you to book everything with them. Evalina quit, there are new owners now. Very small room!! Very noisy! Not clean! More like a hostel.
It's really close to a bus stop, so it's easy to get to the airport or the watter falls. There is a nice garden and a swimming pool, might be nice in the summer (we were there in winter... way to cold!) The staff is helpfull to organise trips/visits. What they offer is very expensive though (and quite easy to do by yourself).
You have to pay to have access to the Wi-Fi. Breakfast is not included and poor. The room was clearly not clean.
Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Great location Reasonable price Close to town and national park.
The staff is great. Although they offer private transportation to the Iguazu Falls, they make sure to tell you that there's a cheaper way to reach them. Another good thing is that they have a list with tickets and trips with discounts, so make sure to check that out. The location is perfect. Near downtown and easy access to touristic attractions. Also, there are nice bars nearby.
Bed quality and comfort are great, but acoustic insulation is not their strength. Had the bad luck of experiencing a late check-in at night and I guess everyone at the place heard them come.
Very friendly, care-taking owner, helpful staff. Very clean. Good location for backpackers. Walking distance from supermarket.
No good choice for food in breakfast
very close to bus station, can easy to go to Iguazu park
This is excellent value for money in an good location. Cheap and cheerful. The room with bathroom is small but more than adequate. The sheets are thin but everything was scrupulously clean and well painted. A pretty place. The breakfast is minimal. Water and some food is available for purchase but I chose to walk the four blocks to the supermarket and purchase food and water for my stay. The trek back up the hill was hard work in the heat of the day but meant I had adequate water for rest of my stay. The supermarket is open late so shop after the sun goes down. The pool is very nice. She charged only $2.50 for two days of internet access. The owner is a character with a good heart. She tries very hard to help you but her explanations are long winded. As others have mentioned, she is a salesperson for guided tours but no worse than other hotels in town. She speaks English quite well and gives good advice when she listens to your needs. Her recommendation for a place to eat two blocks away was spot on. She did not understand that I was quite capable of finding my way around the parks without help once we got where we needed to.
Taxis will take up to four people at a time. She charged 50 reals to get to the sites by taxi. It is much less by bus from this location but the owner like other travel operators in the region make money by selling trips for several people separately and sending them all together in the one taxi/bus. Having said that, her drivers are reliable, friendly and adaptable. I ended up giving some other people who were planning to take a bus for a ride in my taxi. Once Evelina realised she was not going to make money on the bus, she facilitated our travel plans.
Very friendly, care-taking owner, helpful staff. Very clean. Good location for backpackers (pousada can be reached with one bus, no 115, from the rodoviaria/bus station; so can the Iguacu Falls from the pousada, bus no. 120). Swimmimg pool, excellent to refresh with clean water. Very reasonable price for the content of the offer. Comprehensive tourist information provided by owners. Many additional services: pousada offers trips to the Falls on both Brazilian and Angertinian side or just sells vouchers for trips organized in both national parks; post service, wi-fi, sale of water, drinks, gifts, toothpaste etc. at low prices
Breakfast includes just coffee and a snack ((cake, banana), which can be justified by the price, but may be inconvenient if you arrive late and leave early next morning
Very nice and friendly staff. Fair price for the room as well as the extras. The twin room is very simple and quite small, but it still was sufficient for a third bed for our 4 year old son.
A cockroach found in the room at night indicate that the insect control is not very effective. There is no option for breakfast. The "pousada" only offer coffee, tea, hot water and yogurt. Any other food has to be arranged by the guest.
Evelina is a great woman. She speak Russian well and very enthusiastic explain EVERYTHING you can need during your stay.
Simple accommodation but it is very cheap, so all it very good for the money you pay
Everything was very good, Evelina ia a very pleasant woman. She helped us to organize our travelling to Iguasu Park (both: Brazil and Argentina). Good staff, good swimming pool. Iguasu Falls are amazing. The park is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
nice pool good room nice staff
Good breakfast, nice small swimming pool and great Evelina advice: a lot of information about tours are given by Evelina and her staff. Nice position, near to bus-stop for Iguazu falls and 400mt to restaurant streets.
Room was very small.
helpful staff, nice breakfast, support for visiting Argentinian side of falls, huge room.
You can book trips in the hotel very easily. I should recommend a organised tour to the Argentinian side of the waterfalls, it won't cost you a lot of extra money and it is arranged very well. The breakfast is excellent.
The owner the hotel, Eveline, tries to be nice to everybody. But if you asks her something, you won't get rid of her anymore and after 15 minutes you still don't have an answer to you question. Very anoying. The room is very small and old and the bathroom is also very small. There is a swimmingpool, but the water was very cloudy because of all the chloride. There are not many restaurants around the hotel.
Staff too pushy in trying to sell tours. Rules and regulations of the hotel presented in a rather unhospitable way.
Mrs Evelina is a great help with organizing your time in and around Iguazu. Skilled in many languages she can explain in detail how to get to places, what to see in there, how much it will be etc. The rooms are spacious and clean. Would definitely stay there again if was in the area.
Perfect mix of eficiency and kindness... We only had less than a day and a half, and Evelina made it possible for us to visit both sides of the falls. Evelina is definitely a great lady, but all of the staff is great! And the pousada is comfortable and quiet. Highly recommended!
If we had known better, we would have stayed longer...
Welcoming and good informations for tourists. Very helpfull especially to go to argentina, and others touristic sites. Good breakfast.
Room was very tiny! Room was humid but there was air conditioned. Looks more like a hotel than a pousada because of many people.
The owner of the hotel is a great woman. She motheres guests and makes your staying including all transfers and excursions very comfortable. You'll enjoy time you are in the hotel and human interaction with Evelina. She knows seven languages to communicate with her guests on their native language. Thank you Evelina.
