Highly recommend the place for value of money and location. 3 mintute walk from centre. Very quiet
Slight issue with bad smell from bathroom. But would clear very quickly. On the second last day was very bad and straight away were moved to another hut. Not issue after this
- staff is very nice espacially the manager - the rooms (lodge) are clean and very nice - breakfast is good - locoation is nice and easy access from the boat, a little outside the seafront but still close enought (400m)
- wifi is not the most efficient - sometimes you can smell drains pipes in the bathroom, not very pleasant but not too bad either
The small cottage like rooms. The manager, Kika, and the owner Jean went out of their way to help us and make us feel comfortable. Location:The inn is nestled up against the mountains and therefore is far from the craziness of the town, but at the same time not too far from the restaurant, shops, etc. Breakfast: Fresh and delicious typical Brazilian breakfast. Although I did not come for it, but overall good wi-fi. Ambiance: Waking up to the sounds of the jungle. When we come back to Ilha Grande, this is definitely the place we will come to stay.
Nothing. It was a perfect vacation that we will never forget. I would only add 2 suggestions: To add a long wall mirror (girls like to see the whole outfit). Maybe a bigger place to hang clothes.
Set back a few minutes walk from the main town, so nice quiet location, easy to find. We had our own little wooden cabin with a bathroom, shower was mostly warm. Room was clean. Wifi worked really well, even in our room. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful. Laundry service cheap and efficient. Breakfast was buffet of bread, meat, cheese, fresh fruit, coffee and juice etc.
ilha grande was great
breakfast starts at 8, not a minute before. even if asking kindly one day before. unflexibel.
Kika the Manager is the best! Excellent breakfast!
AMAZING! What a great hotel to stay. The location is awesome, very close to the beach, to the gourmet area, groceries, yet in the middle of the jungle away from the city noise. The staff is amazing, super friendly and caring. Kika that is the person in charge of the hotel is simply lovely! We stay at the cabin and it was super cozy, spacious, silent, clean, with ac, and a beautiful view! The breakfast was yummy and the all the staff was beyond friendly! Every time my husband and I go back to Ilha Grande this hotel will be always our destination.
Staff were very accommodating, pleasant, and friendly. Breakfasts were very good.
Didn't receive the reserved cottage (chalet) until after a request and on the third night.
Very nice setting, the pool was also lovely.
This sort of facility should not be offered on booking.com. The room we were offered was little more than a dump, it was not cleaned during our absence and internet was not available although the offer specifies that wifi is available in all areas without cost and the staff was simply rude and absolutely uninterested in resolving the problem. We finally canceled out stay there.
1, not clean room during 3 days 2,the breakfast is not good
Had a lovely stay at Mata Nativa with my husband, very nice chalet, clean and tidy. Air con and fan which was essential in the heat. Hammocks were excellent. Breakfast of fruit, different types of bread and cakes, juice, coffee, tea and cereals.
Novelty factor Location Hammock
Breakfast, especially the juices which seemed to be watered down. Damp smell. My pillow stank! On closer inspection it was mouldy, when I checked under the pillowcase. Air con was very dated, do not expect to stay cool. Had to pay extra for a safe. Had to ask for toilet paper when we were running low.
We loved staying at Mata Nativa. The location was perfect, 5 minutes walking distance from the main restaurants, bars and the beach. The breakfast was amazing, loads things to choose from. In the afternoon there was coffee, tea and cake available, which we were very grateful for after a day of activities. We didn't stay in a chalet but the main building was nice too so don't be put off if the chalets are fully booked. The room was cleaned and had a good AC. The hostel host, Kika was very friendly and helpful. She used to come every morning to the breakfast area to chat with the guests. To summarise, it is a beautiful place to stay with amazing surroundings. I'd not hesitate to stay again next time we are at Ilha Grande and I'd defenitly recommend it to our friends.
The tv reception was ok and an English channel would've been nice. No lamp shade on the overhead light in the room. The WIFI was patchy and temprimental but this could be an Ilha Grande problem rather than a Mata Nativa issue. Apart from these small things everything was great.
great location, helpful staff, nice chalet, beautiful setting.
the first room had a bit of a smell but we were changed over quickly and without hastle
Not bad for the price. Don't expect luxury, but if you pay a little extra for a chalet you will have a relatively comfortable night's sleep in a clean environment located close to the action in Abraao (but not too close so it is noisy). There are three negatives (but again, given the price I wouldn't expect much better): 1. The sheets and towels in the rooms are practically threadbare and need to be replaced. 2. The breakfast was limited (but nice cake). 3. The female owner (?) isn't the most inviting. Her manner could improve. That may have been a language barrier thing; but I doubt it. Take my advice, stay at Pousada Praia da Camiranga. It is away from the main town and although more expensive, is the highlight of our trip to Brazil. They provide free transfers to the island, free transfers between their Pousada and Abraao, dinner and breakfast are included and free use of kayaks-although beware there is nothing to do in the evenings as you are staying on a deserted beach (that suited us fine!).
Location for nights out in Abraao.
Nice place. Good breakfast. Nice staff. Great chalet.
Small swimming pool. Slow wifi.
