The pousada is very nicely located, the staff is extremely friendly, the breakfast was delicious, the room really nice and cozy. I really didn't want to leave! I could also do a late check-out without being charged further fees which isn't always the case.I can only recommend you to stay there, you won't be disappointed!
Nothing to be disliked about Porto de Cima!
I spent three nights here and everything was perfect from check in to check out. The pousada is very well located, i could see the sea while drinking a beer from the hammock in front of my room. The staff here is absolutely great, nice and friendly people! Definitely reccomend to stay here if you visit morro de sao paolo.
Mariella is really helpfull and nice! Spanish speaking!
Very helpfull, friendly staff Very relaxing atmosphere, which matched the island.good breakfast.Good location, close to town, but still far enough away from all the noise. The hammock on our verandah nice touch.
Lights in room could be brighter, hard to read at night. 3 nights was not enough, loved to have stayed longer!!!
Amazing breakfast (the best I have had in Brazil!), lovely communal areas, friendly and helpful staff. A nice quiet location down a side street in the town but only a couple of minutes walk from where the action is.
The rooms were looking pretty tired and could do with some redecoration. Cold shower and no mosquito nets in my room (I saw some other rooms had mosquito nets in the windows though). Overall a nice place to stay but the rooms could do with some investment.
Staff was friendly, and very helpful. Some spoke English which was nice. location of our room was nice , with a view and a breeze.
People in the next room smoked all of the time and we had to always close our windows. we couldn't sit outside to enjoy our patio. Rooms should be non-smoking, inside and outside!!!
The place is is extremely quiet and the apartement was nice. If you want to relax, enjoy the silence and have an excellent breakfast this is the right posada for you. Carla and the staff are very kind and nice!
From the first minute you felt special. The team cares about your experience and mashes you feel at home. Even on the street after hours when we meet the staff they were so happy to sit and chat. The hotel it's amazing, quiet location close to the center and 5 minutes walk to either a private or public beach. We will be going back!!
Wifi could have been better in the rooms but was still useable.
The friendly and helpful staff, the nice furniture in the central area, relatively quiet, close to main street and also port.
Very dark and humid rooms, unpleasant smell in the rooms, rooms with minimal comfort that would need refurbishment (Air conditioning, TV, bathroom), no Wifi in room 8 (I would recommend rooms 1-7 if you do need Wifi).
the staff and place was awesome, kind of tucked away on the quieter side of the island and close to the port and beaches, the staff were fun and super insightful and it was awesome to get a savoury breakfast (as sweet break is so common in brasil!)... definitely would go back there. thanks a bunch guys, my dad and i loved morro and pousada de cima.
that we couldn't stay longer!!!
Everything The breakfast was amazing and the personal very helpful
Good location, very friendly english speacking personal, good breakfasts, the only problem, WiFi just on reception territory, but tgis normal in almost all brazilian hotels
The island it is on is certainly beautiful and the property is pretty, though not much beyond the rooms and reception area where the breakfast is held. The woman at check-in/mornings was lovely and very helpful.
The room was not well-lit and the room was a bit more rustic than expected. The transport to and from the island was R$150 per person RT, which I didn't factor into our budget. There is a lot to do but we unfortunately had only 1 full day and the weather wasn't great so not sure it was worth the trip to get there and back.
Amazing staff and beautiful garden. Great view to the sea. A bit far from beaches but close to.center
Location, friendliness, nature.
This Pousada felt nearly like home. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful and the breakfast the best we've had in Brazil. I hope to come back again and can only recommend it.
Loved how peaceful it was when we arrived. The whole pousada is located just 5 min walking from the boat port, but secluded enough to feel relaxed. Loved the people we dealt with and their willingness to assist in all of our activities giving recommendations and scheduling the activity itself. Breakfast was perfect every morning and (we) really appreciated them making it for us each morning from scratch! Wi-Fi worked great and the room was big enough for us to store our thing, but still super cozy.
The only complaint we have is our bed in room 3 was on the ground and very uncomfortable. It needs legs and maybe a new mattress. This can easily be corrected though I'm sure and wasn't anything (for us) to take away from our stay there.
Probably the best hostel I have stayed in in South America! Luciana and her crew were so nice and made us feel so welcome!! The bedrooms were extremely comfortable and always clean and great value for money. The wifi worked well and the breakfast was simply delicious! Luciana and her team worked very hard to make sure we had a great stay and even organised a private day out for us on a boat at an excellent price! The location of the hostel is great as it is just outside of the main town but only a 3 minute walk to all the restaurants and a ten minute walk to the beaches where the action is at night! (Perfect as it means you are not kept awake by loud music when you return) Honestly this place is perfect for both young and old, would highly recommend!!!
Nothing!! Perhaps the air con was a tiny bit noisy but apart from that it was fabulous!!!
Breakfast was the best I have tried in three holidays to Brazil. The location and surroundings are great. It feels like you're quite remote when in fact you are just a few minutes from the centre. The staff were all friendly without being intrusive as well as being exceptionally helpful.
Perfect location with beautiful sea view
The staff was amazing, always wanted to help you and give you information about places, what to do, everything
Nothing, everything was good.
We did enjoy our stay very much! We spent 5 days in that great pousada with excellent location- close to the beaches, close to the centre,shops... Our room was lovely in the middle of the tropic forest so close to the nature and with sea view and a hammock- I love it. Amazing breakfast! All staff in the pousada are so friendly and helpful - especially Liciana and Carla. They speak excellent English - help us with information about the island, suggestions- what to do,where to go... Thanks to Luciana- she encouraged me to jump from the hill above the sea- amazing experience called Tiroleza- that`s how we said Good bye to the island. We highly recommend Porto de Cima and definitely will come back. We miss you all !!!!
Our stay at Pousada Porto de Cima was brilliant! We loved it so much, we wanted to stay for longer but had to leave to carry on our prebooked travel... Luciana was so sweet & helped us immensely with some things to do on the island & where to next for our travels. Her English is perfect, which is so nice to find when your Portuguese is very limited, as ours is. We even had incredible massages at our own cabin, which Luciana arranged for us. Total bliss & I'd highly recommend that experience. The setting is in a tropical garden, quiet & peaceful. Only 5 mins from where you get dropped off by boat, so you really don't need a 'taxi' - which are actually wheelbarrows. So awesome :) Close to town & all the beaches are within walking distance, maybe 10-15mins. Far enough from the noise to have a good night's sleep after partying at second beach, if that's what you're into! We loved third beach for swimming, second for more action & excitement. They're all next to each other, so it's really easy to simply stroll between them. The island itself isn't huge, so you can easily make your way around it by foot, settling in for the night at this wonderful Pousada. Don't miss the breakfast - it's delicious! One of the best we had anywhere in Brazil, even having stayed at fancy hotels in Rio. Stay here, you'll love it!
Breakfast was really excellent, fresh fruits and various other local dishes. People attending us were also very friendly.
The room was dark and very humid, a bit dirty. Should really be refurbished.
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, close enough to the beaches but far enough removed for peace and quiet. Could have happily stayed for about a month
