Wifi, restaurant, facilities
It's dump. End of story.
The concierge, Jorge, was immensely helpful with practicalities like taxis etc. What a good ambassador for the hotel & Brazil!
Couldn't get the hot water really hot for a shower or a shave.
The room was clean and pretty spacious, breakfast was good and offered various options.
The hotel looks like its been 20 years since the last time its been renovated. The elevator doesn't close all the way through, the shower doesn't have a door, the roof top pool isn't clean and all the facilities are in poor shape. Almost all of the staff doesn't speak English but they do try to help
nada me gusto
Great location and extremely helpful staff!
As would be expected, the prices were extremely inflated for the World Cup, but I've never slept in a more uncomfortable $300/night bed. It was basically a wooden board covered by a mattress pillow top cover. Rough night of sleep.
close to antigo
terrible food, hardest bed, electricity fail due to shower heater, old.
staff was lovely
price gouged the world cup fans
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in! The hotel is literally falling down.
Awful overpriced hotel
No shampoo in bath. Towels looked dirty. To get hot water you had to turn on a switch. Light in hallway on all night and lit up our room as there was a glass panel above our door. One star hotel but at a cost of 4 stars.
It was close to the metro
The bed was so hard it was like sleeping on plywood. The beach was very far and there weren't any good resteraunts close by so we ate at the hotels. The food was average, was a limited menu, and took over an hour and a half to come.
Should be viewed as a hostel not a hotel.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location - it's walking distance from Recife Antigo and most of the central sights.
This was the grossest hotel I've stayed in as an adult. The public bathroom in the Recife mall was cleaner than our room. The building resembles a Soviet-bloc apartment tower and has clearly never been renovated. You have to flick a switch to get the hot water to turn on, and you have to run the shower in order for water to come out of the sink faucet. The floors look like they haven't been mopped in decades. Paint is peeling from the walls, and mold is visible. From the outside as well as the inside, the building appears to be crumbling - it actually doesn't seem safe. Wi-Fi barely works. I realize that Brazil has different standards, but if this hotel were in the us, it would not come close to basic regulatory standards. Even if you think you're prepared to sacrifice a bit of quality for the excellent location, you do not want to stay here. The idea that this hotel actually has a 6.2/Pleasant rating on this website is ridiculous.
In all honesty we didn't like much. If there is anything positive to say it's that the room was clean-- but you can't really dress up a turd, because that turd will still be a turd.
Absolutely nothing worked. The first room we got check into had 3 beds-- there was only 2 of us in need of 1 bed. The A/C was broken. The door wouldn't close. The hot water didn't work and the room smelled awful from the 'river views' that the hotel charges more money for. Now I know that this is Recife and not the Mediterranean, but we all have noses and olfactory systems... A bad smell is a bad smell... Don't stay here-- trust me.
