This was off-season plus (August after the World Cup). The hotel has a beautiful, rustic feel up in the hills in Santa Teresa, albeit potentially isolated.. You will probably be taking taxis (though that's fine, taxis are relatively cheap in Rio). The views are sublime. We loved it.
Staying at Rio 180 was so peaceful! The staff were all very helpful and the breakfast was delicious!
Location could not be beaten, view is the best we saw in all our travels around rio. All staff spoke great English and were super helpful and friendly. Again the view was incredible both sugar loaf and Christ the Redeemer in full view from our balcony.
Due to construction going on our hot water for the shower was all over the place. And a few things around were a bit rough around the edges but it just adds to the character.
Great view over the city. Room was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious.
It's located a bit outside the center, but in front of the hotel is a bus connection directly to the metro station.
Staff speak English. Reception staff helped me plan each day to get to places and recommend local favourite places to eat. Santa Teresa is lovely residential place. Views are awesome from the master suite.
Santa Teresa a bit away from main metro. Buses drive very fast downhill so hold on right! No shops or cafes near by. Have to go into Santa Teresa high street
Stunning views from the restaurant and room. Lovely food. Friendly Staff.
Glass door on bathroom. No hot water (due to renovations).
After a two-week intense travelling in Brazil, we have decided to find a relaxing hotel for our last night. Rio 180° Boutique was a perfect choice. It is a down-to-earth hotel that boasts great service and breath-taking view throughout Rio (sugarloaf, Christ etc). Located in the charming area of Santa Teresa, it is close to many touristic spots (Lapa, Cristo, beaches, etc). The hotel is the best compromise if you're looking for a quieter neighborhood away from the loud touristic districts while still being very central if you decide to experience the nightlife. The staff is wonderful! The restaurant at the top floor is amazing! You can enjoy the view while savoring the great dishes. I would definitely recommend this hotel objectively to anyone who is looking for a quality hotel and service. You'll just feel at home whether you just chill by the pool, relax in your room or have drinks at the top terrasse.
I felt well looked after.
location and view Santa Teresa is very nice and has some good restaurants
room was not the same as shown on pictures. When we told this one of the staff members offered us to stay in another room which was better. Still, the name Boutique hotel is not right. We stayed in many boutique hotels and here the pictures online are not the same a the truth. Ugly white plastic chairs around the pool, sheets on the bed old and with stains, old bathtubs and not really clean. Jacuzzi was not working (already for months now I read) and the staff only told us that this jacuzzi function did not work. So, when we tried to use it as a normal bathtub we noticed you can not use it at all. As water was running over the floor when we wanted to open the waste plug after the bath. Hotel really needs to fix this and at least hang a paper there clearly stating that it does not work at all. Breakfast was poor. No eggs, only some toast and fruit. No cereals. After a few days asking for eggs, they finally bought some. Scrambled eggs for 2 persons was a very tiny bowl with maybe one or 2 eggs in it.. We expected the place to have a restaurant, but it was closed. This is a pity as everything is far and there is not even a snack in your room for when you are feeling very hungry. A hotel like this is supposed to have a decent kitchen for lunch/dinner
Room smell bad mold on walls
To stay in a calm beautiful place, and that´s in Rio, it´s only posssible in the 180 degree boutique hotel !
The view of the city was breathtaking, breakfast was delicious and the owner very helpfull.
View is simply amazing. Hotel has a nice pool, big rooms and terrace and a nice breakfast.
Difficult to get cabs to the city (ok to get back to the hotel also airport transfer reliable).
View from the hotel Food was awesome Service was great Rooms were modern Value for money was great Staff super nice
The only thing that happened was that I got charged twice in my credit card and it is something that I wasn't able to solve quickly. It might have been a problem with the hotel or maybe with the credit card company. Other than that the service was great.
amazing hill view in historical Santa Teresa area. Elegant interior design by French host. Spacious room with view in every room.
A little pricey Difficult to walk around in this area and find places to hang out..
The views are stunning. The owner is incredibly friendly. The building is an architectural gem. This place has true potential and I am excited to see what the owner will do with it.
As hotel, it hasn't fully come into its own yet. Although breakfast service was great, you would have to go out for all other meals as the restaurant did not serve any food. Going out however, is a bit of a complicated affair as the place is not in walking distance to any restaurants. There is also no public transport which means you have to rely on taxis.
The stuff was super nice and they gave me upgrade to bigger room that I didn't wanted to leave:)
The main problems is that there is no food at the hotel except the breakfast and to order from outside is expensive and really bad quality. And second problems was the wifi that didn't work on my iPhone and only the computer.
The views! Simply amazing. We stayed in the Corcovado room and felt like Rockstars.....magic! The owner, a young Frenchman, was not around much but his mother was the best hostess you could imagine. She really made us feel welcome!
They were getting ready for end of year parties and constructing marquees etc. This made things noisy.
We enjoyed the location and the facilities. The staff was really nice and helpful.
During our stay there was a party in the hotel and due to this there was no breakfast. Minor adjustments needed, hot water in shower and light bulbs not always working.
The staff was truly outstanding. Absolutely adored George at the front desk. He went above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks George!
Nothing. Loved the place. The owner was awesome too!
I m so glad I booked a room at Rio180 The view from the hotel is just outstanding I wake up early just to be able to watch the sunrise. "Was perfect" Breakfast was awesome Staff was great and helpful
Great location, beautiful view. Very nice room. English speaking and helpful staff! Very good food in the hotel restaurant. Quiet area. Much more value for money compared to hotels on Copacabana. Highly recommended.
Location is not that convenient (not in the center of Santa Teresa), ordering a taxi may take some time (over 20 minutes).
nice view, firendly and helpful staff, the size (7 rooms only), bohemian neighborhood
the whole place needs a throughout uplift- it looks like this place was a proper boutique hotel but now it is quite worn down- smell of moist in the rooms with stains on the walls, hot tub without hot water, poor maintanance of a very nice villa
