We loved the spacious room and terrace. The view was incredible and we would certainly stay again. The staff deserve 5 stars.
The hotel is a little far from downtown but group tours are best and safest and staff will organize them from the hotel.
- The view, wonderful. - With 37 degrees Celsius (it felt like 52!) the air-conditioning kept the room cold. - We arrived at 9:30am, with check in at 2pm, we could enjoy the breakfast and some drinks without extra costs! - Bus-stop (line 507) in front of hotel takes you in 7 minutes to the metro, which takes you to every beach in the city! - Quiet neighborhood - Breakfast: good; juices, cake, yogurt, eggs, tapioca, tea, coffee, etc... - WiFi in room! - Hot water in shower! - Staff is very friendly.
- Public areas have a lot of white furniture, walls and floors that look a little neglectful. - Breakfast: some days missed the cake, the yogurt or other. Breakfast time could be a little longer, 8-10am is too short time. - The blankets are not the one you would expect in a hotel. One day a thick warm (prefect if you sleep with air-conditioning) blanket with colors faded, printed with flowers. The other day a kind of crochet thin blanket, too cold if you sleep with air-conditioning.
Truly amazing view!
the location is truely fantastic. Imagie to have dinner over Rio with the statue of the Christ, the sugar loaf and the bay of Rio in clear sight. Dinner was surprisingly delicious, might be due to the fact that the owner is French. The pool is clean and feels like heaven when coming back from a trip downtown. Staff was really friedly and all spoke english well.
compared to European standards the cleanliness lacks behind, and when the maid decides not to show up the rooms will not be made till late. But these are minor details in a country like Brasil.
The view was stunning.
The showers didn't work well, no hot water. The breakfast wasn't very good either. Not much variety, and foot the price we paid, there should have been a top notch breakfast served.
The views from our room were amazing as we could see the Sugar Loaf Mountain and the sea from our window. Breakfast was very good and staff were very professional and non-intrusive while still being around.
Wi-fi signal was limited to communal areas (we knew that, so not a major problem). The hotel is really quite high up in the hills of Santa Teresa, so we always used taxis to and fro (we also knew that and enjoyed our stay very much).
Lovely view overlooking the city. Comfortable rooms.Ideal for quiet stay for couples.
Although there is bus to downtown you can run up an expensive taxi bill if you travel back and forth into town every day. If you don't mind a bit of travelling and looking for a peaceful place in the mornings and evenings then it's great, otherwise go elsewhere closer to the beaches.
The view, the room, the hot tub and pool, the breakfast and the very nice and helpfull team! We had a wonderful time I would definetly recommend! And fyi, it can be reached by bus from the closest metro station or easily by tax, and the area is safe.
I loved my stay there - super friendly and what an atmosphere to look at the sugar hut and the Christ of Redeema from a roof terrace with cocktails and great music.
sometimes it takes a while to get a cab - but who cares
I really apreciatemy 4 days there, the kitchen wasn't working but they help us to order a great and fair price food. Staff is GREAT! Frigobar with a fair price but coffee only at breakfast or you need to order and was really really expensive.
They don't change towels daily. They don't let us talk with the staff. The shower is a bit confusing, I took 2 cold showers before I learn. Just one soap for 2, I had to ask for another.
Great bed and bath, nice room Good view of the city
Location is away from center and taxis have difficulty finding it
on arrival was told they are over booked and as so I will have to move different rooms on 4 occassions in 7 days. No hot water and when available it is intermitant.
Amazing view, secluded small boutique hotel that provided a relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for romantic getaway for couples.
Slightly far from most sights but everything is accessible by taxi within 10-15 minutes. Beach is 25 minute taxi ride to Copacabana
Gorgeous view, polite and attentive personnel, very rich breakfast with fruits, avocados, sweets and etc.
The balcony of my room with its view on Sugar loaf and the Christ was amazing. The room itself was also sizeable and cosy decorated. It had all needed amenities. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices with an incredible view
The location of the hotel is a bit remote and thus a taxi is almost needed every time. Service could be faster; and depends a lot on the available personnel.
Open bathrooms Difficulty of just walking around the area
The view, if the manager want to give you a good room. The most of the staff is very kind (hello to Andrés and co).
A very good potential but it needs a real manager.
The view is fantastic! You wil have your breakfast with the view on Rio on one hand and Christ on the other! Just perfect. The staff is very polite and will help you in anyway.
The food is unfortunately limited after breakfast. They sell however very tasty drinks. It would be nice to have a airport transfer, which they have but not for 150 reals. Their chauffeur is very good and gives of course the safety you are looking for at any time.
View was exceptional Breakfast very good Room very nice and clean with great balcony Staff very friendly
Location was awkward and need taxis to get around which can be expensive
Staff is English speaking, what a great help when no one in the country speaks English. Friendly and very helpful.
The view is fantastic Rooms are really nice
Not a big deal if you use taxi, but the hotel is a bit far from touristic places
All the hotel were exclllent, very helpful and spoke english. Had an wasome time with the staff even went out to dinner and had a night out with them The views are breathtaking It is away from all the hustle and bustle,so it is nice and peaceful Transportation is easy, buses run past the hotel and easy to catch to the town centre were the subway is.
This was off-season plus (August after the World Cup). The hotel has a beautiful, rustic feel up in the hills in Santa Teresa, albeit potentially isolated.. You will probably be taking taxis (though that's fine, taxis are relatively cheap in Rio). The views are sublime. We loved it.
Staying at Rio 180 was so peaceful! The staff were all very helpful and the breakfast was delicious!
