The Rio Othon Palace is right across fro the beach. The breakfast was good.

My room had lots of small little bugs running around. I had to leave the water running more than five minutes before I got hot water for my shower. The Internet was expensive and slow or not working. The restaurant on the 30th floor food was too fancy. There was no way to order a plane steak or chicken or burger. The maid service was slow.

The staff were helpful and polite, lobby was good and balcony in the room had a great a view of the sea and sugar loaf mountain. Business Centre is also good, and staff very good.

The room was not of 5 star standard, badly decorated, small, and had a horrible smell. When I opened the tap in the bathroom the water was brown for the first 10 seconds! Bathroom door was too narrow and the handle to close to the door frame so hurt everytime I opened it. There were also stains on the bed cover and general chipping of furniture, sticky hangers in the wardrobe. This really was not a "superior premium room" as advised, and was very expensive. Thankfully we only went back there to sleep!

Good choice of foods available

All services the hotel offered were good but the main reception does not work well with the customer. Case in point, a simple copy of my hotel receipt proved to be such a big deal that I find myself seeing the hotel does not care of the client. The room advertised was not the room I was given. We also had 1 day of no water in the hotel which is not acceptable and no compensation was given. This is unacceptable.

All the staff was very professional - rooms were very clean, location excellent.

Waiting to check in at 3: PM very inconvenient since we arrived in Rio at 9:00 am

The location is the best feature of this hotel. Bell boys and parking staff were very polite and helpful.

We stayed for 2 nights. Check in was 3pm and they did not know if a room would be available until 3:30pm. The man who checked us in was not polite and did not try to help to find a room with a double bed for my Father and his partner. He said it is standard practice for a double room that is booked to have 2 single beds unless the guests advise they need a double bed at the time of booking! Our room A\C was warm on maximum cold setting even after they came to "repair it" resulting in uncomfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was nothing special. Parking fee is expensive. We were not impressed and will not stay in this hotel again. If you like hotels with no charm then this is the one for you.

Nice property in a decent location. The rooms and hallways on the upper floors were recently renovated but appeared dated. The interiors of the rooms were basic for a luxury property. Location great. The pool and the beach facilities were great. I liked the property but felt it to be overpriced.

Excellent location and the Superior Room on the 27th floor with a breathtaking view over Copacana beach!

Internet connection charged,Air /condition very noisy,not really sound proof(15 Floor) you can hear the noises of the street...TV Program poor,Staff of Reception not friendly,you fell like it is a factory as many guests (end DEC),they charge me 200 usd because I arrived at 10am instead of 03pm as my flight from Paris arrived in the morning(check-in at 03pm normally) I do not recommend this hotel as they make a lot of money only because of their location,not because of the service and room rates expensive of course....
