Internet is very bad ! An hotel of this standard should arrange for a better internet services whether paid or free.

Very old room, noisy during the night , the windows are too old and you disturbed from thr traffic sound .

The hotel offers a good value for the price. The view is incredible. I stayed in a standard room which was not renovated but did not mind too much because of the view. The next time I visit I will request a renovated room for more comfort.

The views of sugar loaf and Copacabana were incredible. Our meal at the Skylab was the best meal we have had in years!

The rooms need to be modernised. They are a good size and layout but for the money they need a visual make over.

Excellent location, right on Copacabana beach. Pleasant reception area with nice bar. Great views of Copacabana beach from the swimming pool on the 30th floor. Newly renovated room (floor 14). Modern furnishing. Very light and bright room, with clean and modern bathroom.

Swimming pool and swimming pool area to small. Hotel's buffet breakfast adequate, however not realy five star quality. Restauran slightly on the smaller side, so always busy.

We stayed here twice (rewiev for room on the 7th floor, awaiting renovation). Room looked very tired. Wooden furniture possibly dating back to early 80's, with matching wooden blinds/shutters. Tiled floor. Bathroom fittings, matched the rest of the room.

Carpets in room were old. Air conditioners leaked. Breakfast room untidy. Breakfast selection poor.

The location was great - easy access to the beach and shops alike. Felt very safe.

The gym is not oncluded in the hotel and costs an extra r$30 each time you enter the door

The hotel was in an ideal location and the room was everything we expected. Our stay was excellent and we didn't experience any of the negative comments described by other guests. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located directly at the beach, and with the right room (try to get one with the number ending on 11 or 17 - these are the corner rooms that come with a glass enclosed patio). The reception staff is fantastically helpful. The hotel offers beach towels, deck chairs and sun screens free of charge and has a nice spot at the Copacabana reserved for it's guests. The breakfast offers a nice choice of everything and some of the seats in the restaurant have a great view over the beach.

For a 5 star hotel there are too many details that are not up to that standard; i.e. a bath room that has seen better times, the noise even through closed windows, defective lamps in the first room that I was offered, air condition that needs some maintenance ... Also don't bother with the rooms with a "balcony" - this is only 20 cm deep and doesn't qualify for one. The WIFI is horribly overpriced and not the fastest.

You are misleading people by quoting this hotel as 5 star it should be 3 no more.

Friendly, helpful service by staff. Wonderful beachfront view. Comfortable room. Advice by staff on cost of taxis & Wi-Fi.

Expensive Wi-Fi, should be free & able to be used on all devices per guest. Too much litter around hotel beach area.

Staff were very friendly. Loction is excellent. Hotel facilties are fantastic.

Check in at 3pm is very late. Wi-Fi was very intermittant.

We were lucky enough to be upgraded to one the best suites, so we were just happy with the huge room and the wonderful sea view on copacabana and pao de açucar :)

Lobby is nice, staff great, view exceptional. Lobby was impressive but it not the room!

9th floor was very tired and in need of updates long ago.

The location was fantastic! Right in the middle of the beach promenade. Beach loungers, towels and umbrellas were free to hotel guests.Taxi rank right outside the hotel. Central for all the tourist sights - Christ the Redeemer Statue, Sugar Loaf Mountain etc. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were large and clean. The rooftop pool was small but adequate. We felt very safe. There were security men at every entrance 24hrs - we really liked it.

A bit expensive, but you have to remember you are right in the middle of a tourist area in South America!

Great Location and Easy to Find

To justify the amount it costs and a 5 star rating it needs to offer a lot more, the rooms are drab and basic and more suited to a hostel than a hotel and need immediate renovation, staff speak basic english but are not welcoming nor helpful, breakfast is average not 5 star and pool is very small, taxi's outside the hotel are also a huge rip off avoid at all costs. I strongly advise people to not stay at this hotel even though the standard in rio is generally poor this is as bad as any
