    The hotel location is unsurpassed. The view from our room was just magnificent. Front desk staff were impressively helpful and friendly. The concierge was as knowledgeable and as helpful as the best we have encountered around the world. All other staff were unfailingly polite and professional. Our view is if you want to stay on Avenida Atlantico in Rio, you won't do better - at the price - than staying at the Othon.

    The pool area is too small, although to be fair it was never crowded. The hotel is just beginning to show real wear and tear, which conveys a slightly run down impression. This in no way detracts from enjoyment and comfort levels in the hotel. Breakfast was a neutral experience - plenty of choice, but poor in ambience due to crowding.

    Has a good location on Copacabana Beach front. The reservation staff were very helpful with prompt response to help with late checkout, etc.

    Not worth the money you spend. Its no where close to a 5 star hotel. May have been in the 80s but today its a tired rundown place with very little personal service. Its best described as a 3 star business hotel.

    Location is great on Copocabana beach, Greta sea view and balcony.

    Very noisy at night especially if you are below the 10th floor. I would stay here if you plan to party till late and pass out. We are a family with kids and the Sheraton was better as it was far removed enough to get a good nights sleep but close enough to walk to the action and had a great heated pool (but terrible burgers).

    Fantastic location. Gentleman at check in was very friendly. Good pool facilities and range at breakfast. Extremely helpful doorman.

    Staff seemed unable to cope with large groups of guests arriving. When I rang reception with an inquiry the woman seemed unable to give me an answer and hung up on me twice, the doorman had to help me with my enquiries. There was knocking on my door at 6.45 in the morning and little was done about it.

    The service at the hotel was impeccable. Very friendly staff and superior rooms and room service. The food and views from the restaurant were over the top! I will most definitely stay stay when I return to Rio!

    The "car service" at the front door uses far too much pressure to "sell their ride".

    the view the pool nice buffet (except coffee)

    on our honeymoon but only two beds pushed together were "available". dirtiness - moldy food under my bed; mold in shower; human hair in bathroom. refused to provide iron and ironing board (iron was eventually supplied with no board). TERRIBLE coffee at breakfast buffet

    Beachfront view of Copacabana. Spacious and comfortable room.

    The elevators are slow, noisy and not working properly. For both gym and WiFi you have to pay an extra, which is quite annoying considering the base price of the stay.

    Location, nice large rooms, great sea view

    Balcony doors don`t close properly (noise from street). Chaotic breakfast. No free wi-fi in rooms, just in lobby area.

    The location is great, just in front of the hotel there is Copacabana beach. There is a car parking (additional pay). After we had problems at the first room they changed us the room which had much better view on the seaside. Breakfast is not bad, but too many guests make the breakfast zone very chaotic. In general, the hotel looks cool, but don't really expect 5 stars standard.

    First, we were given a room at the 7th floor with the view at the construction site which closed all the promised view on the Copacabana. The safe deposit was broken, but after we called the reception they sent a guy who fixed it. Then all day there was a strange noise as if the airplane was landing. When it did not end at 11 P.M. we called the reception again and they said it is the elevator... They changed us the room the next morning though. Also, the internet is for free only at the reception, if you need internet in your room you have to pay 10 eur per day. The breakfast is at the 3rd floor, and not at the roof as promised, so you can see the views only if you go at their restaurant upstairs. Elevators had small problems (instead of 3 it showed 5 floor, or instead of going down went up).

    The concierge was very helpul when they tryed to trace my luggage, which was lost by KLM and/or TAP. Still missing after 7 Days!

    There was almost 20% extra tax on top of the price given by Booking.com. First time it happen to me.

    Views from the room and the rooftop; sound proof rooms.

    Check in was absolute chaos - one hour plus wait times and the staff couldn't cope with the volumes. No apology, or even attempt to soothe frustrated and tired travellers - even gesture of offering water was too much. Bags were everywhere - even though they were clearly running with severe delays, there was nowhere safe to leave your luggage - it was all left lying around in the lobby. We wasted our afternoon in the line-up and we only had the afternoon and that night in Rio before an early departure the next day. Certainly not up to 5*.

    Location and breakfast were good. Service at the concierge was to the point but not warm. Wifi was adequate. The lobby has good seating facilities.

    Transportation facilities to the airport were poor, causing me to spend 100 Rais to reach the international airport. Service at the concierge is not warm. The gym is not included in the hotel rate. Hotel cost is not credited to your Delta card if you book through Booking.com.

    Location, bed, breakfast, staff. We had an upgraded (king) room on a very high floor. The room had been renovated recently. We were very pleased with the accommodation. The staff was great - from the bellmen to the restaurant wait staff, everyone did a great job. The view of the beach and sunrises was amazing, and being half way along Copacabanna beach, the location couldn't be beat.

    The hot water in the rooms was a bit iffy, but in my experience, that's Brazil.

    Muchos ascensores / Plenty Elevators. Las vista / the view. Wifi gratis en el lobby / Free Wifi in lobby.

    Tratan de cobrar de mas si se les permite. Por ejemplo en booking mencionan un extra de 10% por servicio pero de entrada te cargan el 15%. Solo mostrando la reserva impresa respetan el 10%. / they tried to charge 15% for service rate instead of 10% which booking.com establish in the booking. Tuvimos que esperar mucho por la habitacion aiendo que llegamos a las 11am y el check in era a las 3pm. Fue antes de las 3pm pero pudieron ser mas considerados y rapidos en esto. / we had to wait a lot for the rooms since we arribes a mt 11am and check in was at 3pm. We actually got rooms before 3pm but it could have been faster.

    the staff were very helpful with adapters for phones etc., and gave very helpful advice as to where to find access to different areas of the city. The cafe a manana was presented well but could have included more fruit.

    We had a power blackout and no water which lasted quite a few hours from early morning onwards. We were not given any notification of this happening and upon asking for water to brush my teeth i was told there was only bottled water in the room and yes i would have to pay for usage of it. We felt that the hotel could have taken more responsibility for this inconvenience. They took no action whatsoever. We will not return to that particular hotel .
