Rio Othon Palace  

Onze kamer was op de 19e verdieping en we hadden een fantastisch uitzicht op de kust van copacobana. We hebben daarom ook 2 keer gedineerd op onze kamer die ook erg ruim was.

Het zwembad was klein en het hotel had max 30 ligbedden op het strand wat erg weinig is voor een hotel met zoveel kamers.

fraaie locatie, vriendelijk personnel. Uitstekend restaurant Skylab.

Great location on the beach, excellent views

Nice hotel, but it´s really not 5-star service. Electric socket in our rooms was not american one, and reception could not help with adapter. Overall quality is more 3-4 stars, then five, but price is more then average 4 stars

Great location on Copacabana beach. The metro station is in the sidestreet and makes travelling easy. There are also many buses nearby. Be sure to get a waterview room as the panorama of Copacobana is spectacular. That is worth the money for a few days as the light on the water varies from hour to hour and the clouds wreathing Sugarloaf mountain at times are magical. The hotel rooms are Ok - nothing special but the location and the view are everything. It would be dismal in a back room looking onto a sunless small street. Good security in the hotel and copious breakfast.. There is a reasonably priced pullman bus service to the airport (R12) so transfers are easy.

Wifi is expensive and internet at the side of the lobby not working. However there are heaps of internet places in the side streets and it is easy to make cheaper phone calls from the booths in those place.

The location is good; very close to the beach

The hotel is over priced; the rooms are very tired and need urgent refurbishment. I was moved from my first room on day 2 as the toilet was leaking. I was moved to supposedly a better room on the front; the room was very noisy, as no double glazing. I had to report 'no hot water on 3 separate occasions'. There were black flies in the bathroom; which were coming out of the drain; this was reported, no action taken. Overall not a good experience. Will definitely not be returning; bearing in mind I visit Rio 5 times a year.

internet services are so bad

For a hotel with around 500 apartaments there are few guys in the reception desk, what creates long lines for check-in and check-out. It's the only thing they could improve in my opinion.

Breakfast is wonderful, Concierge Service is excellent, Location everybody is fluent in English.

Price for value (very expensive for the value you get), tv at the room is simple as well as mini bar. Pool is very very small somewhat unconf for those that don't have kids. I was a solo traveler and I tried booking a single bed in a double room. I tried making notation on the reservation and they didnt change it to a single queen size bed. I had to stay in a double room with two beds and they would not make changes once I was there either. I just don't think it was fair not allowing any changes for the price I was paying for which was a lot. Phone and Internet service are terrible. My phone had static and Wifi is very very over priced ( signal strength is not good at all went down every minute). Payed 15 dollars for a 10 min 1800 call from my room on a calling card and operator had told me phone calls to 1800 number were free of charge... So she had no idea what she was talking about.

The location and the view of the sea side rooms is very nice

One of the poorest breakfast I ever experienced in Brazil. The coffee was desgusting, fruits not ripe. Equipment and installation of the hotel are medieval. Staff rather unfriendly. Worst value for money I ever experienced in a hotel of this cathegory.

Consierge staff helpful and friendly. Location is good.

Poor cleaning of rooms, found several shampoo bottles under the bathroom units, very visible, carpet in room not hovered during my stay. Internet extremely slow, WiFi signal week in the room, not possible to connect more than one laptop or Ipad. Reception staff not very helpful. Aircondition in room noisy and not very effective, resulting in difficulties sleeping.
