Trek-And-Fly Hostel  

Trek and Fly was not my first choice, but we were very glad that lack of availability elsewhere steered us there. Luiz was most accommodating, extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. The area felt safe and public transport connections to all parts of Rio are literally on the doorstep.

It is a bit difficult to find first time

Picked up from the airport by Luis (one of the guys running the hostel) who had been looking for me for an hour with no word of complaint (I had told them the wrong terminal), and speeded to the hostel with great conversation...given a cold beer and food on arrival, very clean and comfortable dorms (mine had aircon, a little noisy but that's what earplugs are for) , fast free wifi connection (good enough for Skype video calling with Australia). Felt right at home here, really relaxed and friendly vibe. Prices were about 5 times the normal rate due to carnival, but that's the case everywhere pretty much, partially made up for by the lift to the hostel that I gave a voluntary contribution for, about half of what a taxi would have been. I'll be back here when next in Rio for sure, especially as they let me leave some stuff there I didn't want to carry for a month's backpacking in Bahia. Highly recommended. Thom

O dono luis e simpático ! o lugar não esta muito bom mas pelo precio pagado, vale a pena.

V hostelu jsme strávili 2 noci (manžel, já a 2,5 leté dítě). Dítě bylo zdarma. Majitel byl velice sympatický, několika jazyky hovořící pán. Byl vždy velmi ochotný, rád poradil kam se jít podívat v Riu, jak se tam dostat. K snídani čaj, káva, obložený rohlík. Nic velkého, ale plně postačující. Mohu doporučit. We spent 2 nights at this hostel (my husband, me and 2,5 years old son). The child was free. The owner is very pleasant man who spokes many languages. He was always helpful, he recommended perfect free unknown view to my husband and he explained me how to get to Corcovado by bus. Breakfast: tea, kofee and roll with butter, cheese and salami. I can recommend this hostel to travellers.

Není to vůbec problém, ale na hostelu není napsán nápis (nebo je tak neviditelný, že lze snadno přehlédnout), takže orientace podle čísla domu (čísla domů v ulici jdou postupně, takže lze jednoduše nalézt). No notice Trek-And-Fly Hostel on the building, there is a house number only.

Gostei da atenção dos donos do hostel.

Não gostei muito do café da manhã.

Louis, quien se encarga del hostel, es una excelente persona y brinda un muy buen apoyo al turista sin mayores intereses que el bienestar de éste. El lugar cumple muy bien con lo que ofrece. Muy buena opción si se precisa hacer noche cerca del aeropuerto, previo a otro destino.

O rapaz, Louis, nos recebeu com bastante cordialidade, nos tratou como amigos, falava vários idiomas, era prestativo, etc

A casa não é extamente um hotel, é uma casa em reforma e tem apenas um banheiro para todos os hóspedes.

Hospitalidade acima de qualquer prova.

Hardly anything to mention....

Location: Its atleast an hour from downtown Rio. This is situated in a place called Maier where no one except the hostel owner speaks english. Facilities: There was just one combined bathroom/toilet in the hostel. There were around 15 people staying there at the same time and people had to wait in queue to get a chance to go to the toilet or to take a bath. Also there are no locker facilities. Breakfast: It was a joke. There was some broken bread and one mug of juice that was lying on the table Overall a very poor experience. Unless you are in dire straits, please dont book this place.
