This hotel has a very good location (quiet, safe, close to Flamengo Park and Beach). Very kind and helpfull staff (we asked in spanisch, they answered in portuguese or english - was a nice mixture), but we got all information we needed. Breakfast was excellent with rolls, bread, ham and cheese, fresh fruit, coffee, tea or juice. We will definitely recommend this hotel.

We were made to feel very welcome by staff. The hotel was clean and well presented with clean bedding and towels daily. I would stay here again if travelling back to Rio. The only thing I would say was that the room was slightly small considering it was meant to be a family room.

The staff where excelent very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very near everything and if you walk a bit further from it the view is amazing with the sugar loaf and a small port. The breakfast is good also. The bedroom is very small so if you have too much luggage it will be complicated to move around the room.

This hotel was shockingly bad for the following reasons: 1. Bedroom was a box room and the ensuite was like a broom closet. 2. You could barely breath when the aircon was off. 3. The aircon was so noisy you couldn't get any peace. 4. Window was tiny and no view as you were enclosed within a series of rooms. 5. Combination of noise, no air, heat etc meant a good nights sleep was impossible. 6. Good thing the breakfast was free as you wouldn't want to be paying for that. Avoid this place at all costs unless you enjoy almost sleepless nights and passing out from heat or exhaustion.

Very friendly staff - Sylvie spoke English, which was a bonus as Portuguese was very difficult to comprehend! but other staff tried well to help me. Good Breakfast City tour arranged for me Ground floor room available once they realised I was not very mobile (used crutches) Arranged taxi from airport on arrival and to ship 2 days later Nothing - I wish I had booked to stay at the end of my voyage (pity Marcelo was not able to meet me at end of the voyage)

* The staff was great and helpful and really friendly. * The Hotel is located in a quite and safe residential area not far from the subway station and Flamengo beach. * Hotel's english-speaking manager Sylvia has helped us to resolve a lot of questions we faced as a first-timers in Brazil.

The location is the best: a very good area, secure, and close to the main points of the city, with good transport connections. Also the staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are small.

The breakfast (Portuguese lady) cook is a delight. We once arrived late for breakfast and she insisted we still have something to eat. The front desk help was very informative, great help. The taxi driver (christiano) is fantastic. Fast, diligent, informative, kind, and great personality. The room slightly small for large people with not much shelving or space for luggage.

The location in the historic district. Old-fashioned facade and interior (if you like). Proximity to the metro station, bus stops, Flamengo beach. Very small room and bathroom. It is hard to imagine that in such a room will accommodate two people. Musty odor in the room.

Location is convenient exactly in the middle of Pão de Açucar-Corcovado- Santa Teresa-Copacabana rectangle. The zone seems to be Ok with a lot of people on the streets until late in the night. The room was extremely small. There is space just either for you or for your luggage, not for both. Therefore I suppose all guests put their luggage over the beds – not contributing to the cleanness of bed coverings. There is absolutely no space to store the bed coverings themselves. But at least you are guaranteed to have a lot of fun trying to find a place for different things (we, for example, discovered that ceilings are high enough :) ). Oh, I forgot - there is a window! So some things might be stored out of the window! We were 3 in the triple room and if one of us needed to go to toilet or to corridor the remaining two people must occupy their strategic places on the respective beds – otherwise the first person would not pass. The stuff is only interested in making money with you, like selling a tour to you. Therefore, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE rely on their advices or recommendations (we, for example, were sent to the city center in a weekend; fortunately before going we noticed that our book highlights that this is a definite no-no). Lady in the breakfast room is very unfriendly – you will feel like if you have invaded her personal kitchen. If you come for a breakfast in a wrong time you will find no place to seat and will queue in lobby. If you are less lucky (like we were on the first day), everything will already be eaten and you will have no food for yourself.

Good location, close to the largo do machado metro station and the busses that go from there to the corcovado. Close to Flamengo beach. Hotel rooms are small, but value for money if you consider the prices for other hotels in the area. Neat, small breakfast. WiFi and internet access available, but seems rather pricy.

- Hotel location is very good...also if you want enjoy in the night in the same quartier. - Largo do Machado Metrò @ 5min walking, easy to find...not dangerous also in the night time. - Room was very very little...and the bathroom one time more!! - Breakfast is very poor. The "lady" that serve it has an unsocially behavior. Not nice to have this kind of "welcome" every morning :-(
