Friendly stuff Great terrace Live music in the evening
Too many stairs
really friendly personelit's pleasure to meet this people
breakfast should be better, specially fresh juices Internet in rooms almost is not working
exceptional people working there, great atmosphere, great Mexican chef who prepared great meals
Unstable wifi in the rooms
Great vibe. Music, food & parties on the terrace look like great fun (though we were there for the city itself, not just the hostel). Really friendly & knowledgeable staff (in a variety of languages, including very good English). Good people always mean a lot. The place makes a good base in an interesting area beyond the usual tourist spots - a 20 minute walk down the hill to Lapa.
Up a hill, and 30 minutes walk away from a metro, means it's a bit of an effort. The bed wasn't the most comfortable. But totally worth it for the world cup and a wonderful city!
Breakfast area with nice view over other area. Female staff in the morning is very helpful (but not the staff at the night hours).
Not worth the US$100 (R$220!!!) per nite at all! Room is tiny and outdated. Bed sheet are really old and not clean (not the same as pictures posted for this property). Water is always freezing cold and there was hardly enough for shower. A few staff speak good English but not really helpful. The place is really high up many hills and steps, hard to get taxi to come to the property if you have luggage. WIFI not working in the room at all. There is no locker for luggage. Our luggage was left by the gate entrance all day by the staff. Expensive room rate. We found much better property for the same rate for the remaining dates in Rio after that.
wonderful place best location in town beutiful terrace very good spirit
The staff (David and the long haired lady), the location (cool neighbourhood), the nice room with a view, the vibe (the many different theme nights with live band).
One particular stuff ( shoulder hair length lady) who couldn't smile, discriminate non Caucasians by deliberating ignoring us when met one on one and leaving us out when taking orders for drinks when in a group.
Its a pooe squanders for back packers. You have to carry your iwn luggage thru flights of steps nd you reach your room with non working wufi, no airconditioning and accompanied by mosquitos. Even our toliets was not clean. You can work to the street after a vertical descent of 15 mins and likewise when you come back.. goid luck no public buses.. Rio is a beautiful place, dont spoilt your holidays n staying here. With 1 hour of stay i decided to forgo my payment of 1800 reals. Frankly i think i did the right thing.. if not i would be miserable throughout my stay in rio.
The location in Santa Teresa overlooking the city was lovely and about a 20 minute walk from the city (it is hilly though). Make sure to ask for the quickest route from the staff as it will save you time! The staff were very friendly, chilled, and helpful. Food in the evening was put on a number of times for a small cost. Soft and alcoholic drinks could be purchased at any time too. Eating breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine was a great way to start the day.
There are a few things that didn't really bother us, but might bother other travellers: The windows of our room didn't fit the frames so there was a permanent gap. Take ear-plugs and insect repellent! The bathroom was a bit cramped which meant the toilet seat/lid would not stay up. There is only one tap (not that you should drink the water) but you may not be able to get cold water if you want it.
A nice little hotel with super friendly staff!!!
Fantastic staff, very helpful, made getting around a breeze
Views from terrace Friendly staff good English Close to nightlife of Lapa
Dirty room and tired unkemp Toilet not flushing One towel between 2 for over 4 days Dirty bed sheets Too many steps to walk back
The wipe at this place is amazing. The staff is so friendly and on saturdays they sometimes play live music and make bbq. The neighboorhood, Santa Teresa, is also the best place to live in Rio, from my opinion. It is close to downtown Lapa, centrum and just a 30 minuts busdrive from Copacabana, Cocovado og Pão Açugar. The cleaning lady is so sweet!
Our toilet door could close properly.
If you're twenty-something traveler looking to hang with similar, this is a good place for you. We were a family just staying the night while passing through Rio, so we did not take enough advantage of the great patio area with bar, hammocks, and view of downtown Rio. Hip hosts, hip crowd, funky place. Our rooms each had a loft area with a second bed, which made it more convenient to fit extra people. Hosts spoke perfect English.
A bit hard to locate, even for our taxi driver. Looks a little run down or disorganized from the outside and along the walkways connecting different levels, and is certainly not a fancy place by any means, so if you are particular about such things maybe you should look elsewhere. We had no problem with it, kind of added to the vibe.
- friendly stuff - nice terasse
- dangerous location, even taxi were afraid to go there - unsatisfactofy equioment, no A/C, etc..
Friendly staff. Great terrace with a lovely view. Good location, just off Rua do Progresso, where you can take a bus to metro station Largo da Carioca. Good wifi.
Cleanliness and maintenance leave a bit to be desired.
very charming place, for young, open minded people.
The friendly environment and the fantastic view from the breakfast terrance. We had a balcony in our room (room 4) and it was just amazing! Its a cute little place with soul.
the breakfast itself was not that good.
I'd like to thank all the Villa Leonor' staff which had been extremely nice and friedly to me during the week I spent there. A particular hug to Dave, Tito and Michaela, thank you guys!! :) I hightly recomend this place, especially if you wish to experiment the true essence of the most beautiful City in the world. You will love the amazing view from the Posada's terrace, the warmth of the staff and the position, very close to Lapa and Santa Teresa night life. During my stay I visited the city all by bus so I must say that the location it is good also to see the rest of the city's attractions.
Get prepared to a lot of stairs! But if you like walking it could also be a plus!
The friendly staff
Facilities, too many stairs, with breakfast all the way down of many stairs as well the Internet connection, a might5 mare, I do not recomend to anyone, specilally if you were not very young with good legs and healty knees. Very poor area, would hav to walk down and up in worder to get into any kind of shop. I only few hours, until able to get a reservation at another hotel, Over all a c minus.
The owner, Paul is amazing. He cares so much about each and everyone of his guests. The entire staff went above and beyond to make sure my friend and I had a good, yet safe time. The views from the terrace bar are amazing. The vibe is even more fantastic. I wouldn~t recommend any other place in Rio.
