Handy to get to santos Dumont airport
I arrived at night about 8pm, didn't like area at all. Didn't dare to go out, luckily I could have dinner in hotel. Next morning got taxi straight to airport. Bathroom dates from 1960's.
Breakfast, proximity to meto, grocery store
the location was too dark and up a back street to my liking
- Area around the hotel good for making party
- room was not cleaned every day - door to toilet could not be opened if it has been closed once - beds have been dirty - international calls via reception call has been "forgotten" regularly
The staff were friendly and breakfast was included
The hotel was shabby, the rooms were in need of at the very least decoration. No safe was included, whilst we were safe in the area I would not recommend walking around late at night
+ The Hotel is very good lokated, just 80m away from the Lapa-Steps (Selarón’s Staircase) + Placed in a good area, with a lot of bars and nightlife. + Just 8 minutes to walk to the metro, 2 minutes to the bus station to centre. + The sleeping rooms clean and okay . + The bed room was cleaned and the towel changed daily – thanks again to the maid. + Big flat screen TV + Free WiFi in the rooms
- During world cup the prices were exorbitant high! I guess the triple or more of the normal rate, very too much for this hotel! - We had a prepay condition, with a cancellation fee of 100%. After we entered our rooms we realized why! - Our bathroom was out of the late 70’s. The maid gave her best but she was not able to clean the residues and mould from last 40 years! - The towels were battered and fox marked. - The A/C very smelly and loud. Luckily it was not so hot at night, that we could sleep without. - We had a room with window to the backyard, which is perfect, because you not hear the nightlife which is in front of the door… but all night arround 2 a.m. they started to wash they laundry (or something like that) which gives you a montone noise all for about 2-3 hours! - The Breakfast was a low standard, for what you can expect in this Price cathegory. - The Breakrfast room was too small, table cloth never changed and looked very dirty. Also the carpet at the breakfast room, showed you all menues of the last 15-20 years!
good location to who seeks night life(lapa)
breakfast is bad. the hotel doesnt look good at all. problems with the internet. bad location to everyone that dont look for only night life.
Set in a fabulous location in the Lapa area of Rio. Lapa looks scary first thing in the morning with narrow streets and graffiti on every wall however becomes electric at night, a must see place. Also fairly safe for Rio. The staff were very helpful on many questions we had.
Over-priced for what this hotel offers however this can be attributed to the World Cup, like all other hotels profiting from the event.
Really good location in Lapa district & value for money when other hotels were charging a fortune during the World Cup
Wi-fi was slow but the PC's worked a lot faster than on a smartphone & the shower leaked as well having a puddle in the bathroom every day
Metros are within walking distance - the Lapas area was lively during the World Cup!
Wi-Fi - constantly having problems connecting from my floor - construction being done on a floor below till 2am - very noisy
The service was good. Close to lapa so if you plan to party a lot this is a good to be.
Not located in a very good zone. A lot of homeless people outside the hotel. Never felt in danger though. Keep in mind my stay it was during the World Cup so there were a lot of security around
helpful two english speaking front office personal.
non english speaking female staff and grumpy duty manager who will not allow to leave a bag behibd although i booked to come back again.
Excellent location in the exciting and happening area of Lapa especially at night. The staff were very helpful.
The cleaning and technical staff was super helpful and professional: quick, flexible, working very good. The location of the hotel was very good.
Internet was a disaster... Nobody mastered English. Breakfast was the same for 21 days... The staff at the desk does not have the qualifications necessary in their kind of job.
The majority of stuff don't speak english
Good value for money. Decent location
Staff speaks little English. But it was possible to find some person who do.
The kind people
The bathroom needs to be fixed, the armatures didn't work properly, a little cupboard or at least a chair should be there for your personal belongings. The fridge had not been defrostet for a very long time, it was full of ice.
-Garage -Much better than I thought it would be
-Room furniture was poorly placed, making it feel cramped -Air conditioner made a lot of noise but didn't really work -I saw no indication anywhere of how to contact the reception, restaurant etc -Location is not safe to walk around at night
Staff tried to be helpful eventhough only two spoke english and when they are not there difficult to communicate.
The bed was not comfortable to sleep on.
Hotel handy to centro, Internet worked well. Bed and pillow pretty good.
Systems in front desk ridiculous. Had to wait to check out for them to check the room. No key until paid for night. Couldn't access 2 nd nights booking from desk. Very little English spoken. Didn't service room so 2 nd day towels were wet and toilet bin overflowing!!! They had the key. Breakfast not as good as rest of Brazil. Shower glass had lots of mould around edges. I thought overpriced for what you got.
The price worked, until we had problems. We were in Rio, so that was nice. Being able to park our car at the hotel without extra cost was good.
The staff had problems. Cold eggs and then a load of eggs to accommodate after complaining to management. The breakfast space is far to small for the guests. Front desk woman would not take time to listen to my Portuguese because it was not perfect for her ears. The bathroom was terrible, with a long list of problems, to include constant leaking water on the floor. The bedroom design was very constricting. The lobby was under construction and there was no indication when we entered into a reservation...that is not right!
- If you want to go out in Lapa and be close to the Center -> really good location - Also close to Gloria Metro Station which takes you to Urca, Copacabana, Maracana etc. - Flamengo Beach 10 mins. by foot
- Bathroom not really clean - Tiny rooms but ok for the price - No safe - Neighbourhood not very inviting; didn't seem dangerous though
