Location Room Friendly staff Two (very) close metro stations Delicious food
The air conditioning: it was like living in a fridge. I think it is not necessary to cool people down to 20 °C!!!! Staff very friendly but I could hardly find somebody English-speaking, few exceptions at the reception.
The localization of hotel is amazing, so close to metro station.
At night the neighbourhood is not indicate to walk alone, dark and it has a unsecure air.
Great Breakfast, gym, very close to subway station, very friendly staff. The room size was good, bed was comfi ..
Breakfast is ok.
Staffs are horrible. They try to fool us give us a horrible small room whereas we paid for superior room. Very disappointed. Also sounf proof is very bad, can hear every sentences from next room. No privacy feeling at all. Location is not that great neither.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and all were multilingual. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offered a huge variety (although it did not vary day-to-day), and was included in the price of the room. The rooms and hallways are immaculate, as are all the common areas. The rooftop has wonderful views of Christ the Redeemer and downtown area, and it is a perfect place to relax, soak in the views and sounds of Rio, and go for a swim in the rooftop pool. There is also a bar service and a gym. The surrounding neighborhood is lovely, and the hotel is located right across the street from a supermarket, two pharmacies, banks, and restaurants. It is also right on the corner of the Catete metro station, which makes it convenient to get to other parts of the city. It is also right across from the Palacio do Catete, which is a lovely cultural center with free shows and is an interesting piece of Brazilian history. It is also quite easy to get to Christ the Redeemer from the hotel, as you can take public transportation from the nearby Largo do Machado plaza. The hotel is also located near Flamengo Park and beach area.
The room was a bit small.
Helpful staff and a lovely roof top terrace with pool. Very close to the metro.
On-going building works woke us up early each morning.
Everything is average. Very costly for what is offered. We had a room with a view...on a dipressing backyard. The swiming pool area is a joke. No smiles whatsoever. Cold blooded emplyees that gives you the impression that you are in a horror movie, or at best in the movie "the invaders". We had no choice because we booked late, but once again I would recommend this hotel to...someone I don't really like.
Buffet food is good value for money but not more than 3 times because the menu is almost the same repeating itself, Location neibourhood are middle class community away from the snobs and slums
Alot of digging banging and hammering of maintence work during the period of our stay No shuttle transfer to and from airport
Pool in the roof
Rooms quite small. Little value
Lot of noise, works on new elevators, from 7am and during the world cup period, at a high season period for the hotel...not very clever. I changed 5 times of room for 2 nights stay. Phones of the cleaning staff ringing loudly from 6am just close to your room... The staff invoiced me twice more than what I had booked on booking.com and after 30min (showing the proofs and so on), they were OK to make me pay the agreed rate.
Hotel is a nice 3/4 star hotel in a residential part of Rio (quite far from everything). The reviews on Booking.com seem to be surprisingly high for this property compared to other hotels I have stayed at (?). Rooms are clean albeit very simple. Breakfast ok but not particularly nice.
Visit was ok however during check-out the whole thing went bad. I was in a rush and informed the gentleman at reception (Mr Braz) that I had taken a Coke Zero and some peanuts from the minibar and that I needed to pay for them. He said it would take a while to check out as someone had to go to inspect my minibar to check whether my story was true. When I mentioned that I needed to leave now, Mr Braz suggested that if I had an issue with this process he could easily call the police. On average I travel up to 2 weeks every month on business but have never been treated like this.
Nice breakfast very helpful staff
Small rooms not as near the beach as stated on Booking
Very good location only a few steps away from. Cateta metro station so access to beaches and shopping was very easy.
Building renovation work was taking place on 8th floor close to my room which meant there was a lot of noise from power tools, banging, hammering etc from 8am.
Beds were to hard for me
Location, near Flamengo beach .easy access through Metro to copacabana and centro. Nice terrace and swimming pool with view on the Corcovado Excellent breakfast .staff very helpfull.
Restaurant without windows
Food, Pool, Internet, Close to nearby Beach
No Taxi service to charge to room
location, close to metro, very clean rooms,
air conditioning noisy enormously, reception people are arrogant, breakfast,
Very nice hotel, modern, feels upmarket, great staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable rooms, good temperature, wifi worked no problem, close to shops. All positive!
Location: easy access to Santos Dumont airport (taxi about R$15) and half a block from Subway's Catete Station which connects directly to Ipanema and Copacabana. The rooms are fair sized in good condition and breakfast is very good. Good wifi connection. Parking is at no charge.
Bathroom door doesn't go all the way to the floor, strange, which is pretty inconvenient if you are sharing the room.
It only takes 2 mins to walk to the metro station Crete, and the hotel is also convenient to take taxis even in the evening. If you want to go to Corcovado by van, you can walk across 3 streets to buy the ticket and then depart from there. Great value.
When I just came into the room, I didn't like the humid smell. But it can be gone after opened the window for a while.
This is my 3rd stay at Windsor Flórida. I visit Rio many times each year, and will return on my next Brazil trip. The staff is super helpful; the beds have firm mattresses; the WiFi functions well; and the rooms are quiet, clean & reasonably spacious.
Restaurants in easy walking distance of the hotel are uniformally mediocre. In the area but a short taxi ride away is Belmonte, a favorite serving classic Brazilian food.
beautiful rooms, very good breakfast, internet
stuff not friendly at all!!
Renovated and comfort bedroom
Breakfast was just O.K. For brazilian standarts.
Hotel staff were helpful & accomodating. Room was clean if a little bland.
The building work next door was very loud, from about 8.00am
