Hotel Rio Lancaster is located in Rio de Janeiro, just in front of the world-famous Copacabana Beach, 3500 metres from Ipanema district and 3 km from Sugarloaf Mountain.
Score from 134 reviews Good
The rooms were spacious and clean and the breakfast selection was excellent. The location is great for the copacabana beach and restaurants, bars, etc.
Professional personell. Good breakfast. 1 block from Copacabana beach in a lively area. Have towels and parasols available for use. Wifi works well on more than 1 device
Rooms are quite noisy. As often seen in Brazil, windows do not close well. Terrace on the roof is nice but the swimmingpool on the roof is too small to swim
Staff was very helpful & resourceful , they sorted out all problems when a tour bus they had nothing to with 'forgot' to pick me up , breakfast was great, better than in any other place i stayed during my trip
Swimming pool is 2 x2 meters, but it was not needed anyway as a beach is 5 min walk away
- Top equipment - Best breakfast - Top staff during the day
- Sea View hidden by other hotels in front of the sea - Seaview only possible higher than 15. Floor - Staff cannot divide between normal female friends and prostitutes, what a shame
Staff, food and location.
I had to return home.
I asked for and was given a room with a view - tiny view, room 1104. Best rooms for view will be rooms ending in 02, ie 802, 902,1002,1102 etc Comfortable room, plenty of space, balcony, very clean, chocolates on bed at turn down service, great shower, room safe, top breakfast and lovely pool area. Would stay here again
Balcony furniture and floors needs to be cleaned. Looks like no-one has sat out there and I was covered in a brown dirt colour - its a nice area, just clean it
Location was excellent, 2 minute walk to the beach. Close to many resturants & bars. Breakfast was good quality & a large variety. Staff were polite & helpful. Room was a good size, massive bed. Always cleaned to a high standard. Room service was prompt & the food was both high quality & portions large. The shower was hot & powerful, which isn't always the case in South America. We used the laundry which was prompt & well done, if a little expensive. Lovely little roof top pool & small exercise room with treadmills bikes & cross trainers. Wifi was free & also very good.
Laundry was slightly pricey.
The staff are amazing and do their best to address any of your needs.
Value for money, what I liked most is that the receptionists could speak English, especially the day shift, their breakfast is the best, I liked their scrumbled eggs, just out of this world, I dont know how they do it but, I looooved it.show stopper was a free shuttle to airport, I would definitely make a turn
The charge when using computers at reception for internet, ifeel it should link to my wifi, but no big deal
1-Not far from Copacabana and the nice back streets. 2-The shower(small) in the room
First of all who dared name this place a palace? 1- rooms small and feels uncomfortable 2-horrible view over a disgusting building blocking the beach view (unless u are above 15th floor) 3-small hall small dining room, small business center, ridiculously small and cold swimming pool (beware of the seemingly nice picture). It seems clean but it doesn't feel clean. It seems that there is more employees than guests in the entrance. They all seem nice but the atmosphere is not welcoming. You feel that people working there don't give a damn about you. They just do a badly paid job. And i understand that this is not enough to make you feel at home. Oh i know whom i'll recomand to go there: people that i don't really like...
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location close to Copacabana. Nice and clean room.
Wifi was poor inside the room unless you stood by the door.
Stayed here for the World Cup. We got in a bit early but staff let us check in early. They were helpful in setting up tours and guiding us around the city. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to Rio.
Friendly, helpful, accommodating staff. We could check out at 14h00.
Squeaky door hinges (which could have been rapidly resolved with some oil); loud noise from the streets (windows badly insulated).
Our room was on the top floor, so we had great views of the sea and Sugar Loaf Mountain, and it was nice to sit out on the balcony although, as we had a room on the corner, the balcony was smaller than some. The bed was lovely and comfortable. Staff were excellent - so helpful. I got robbed on a local bus, and the staff were really concerned, sorting out for the tourist police to come to talk to me. Always lots of staff in the reception area, and always a doorman to open the door for you. Swimming pool small, but again lovely views from the roof, including Christ the Redeemer at the back! Plenty of choice at breakfast.
Only 3 sunbeds by the roof top pool. Could easily fit a few more in, by removing a couple of tables and chairs if necessary. Paid extra for a better room, but finished up with a smaller balcony.
Staff very help and polite
Pool was to small to swim in. Bar on roof never had any change. Only one laptop could connect to internet at a time
The location is great, 1 block from the copacabana beach, great shower!
in stead of that I have to go, i think that a hotel with this price have to bring my baggage to the room.
Breakfast was great. Staff very helpful. location good
Pre stay communication with hotel was excellent and we enjoyed our stay. Rooftop pool bar excellent. Or experience in the hotel got our trip to South America off to a first class start. Would recommend to anyone.
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, superb breakfasts with masses of choice, views from the rooftop bar and pool.
Dinner in dining room. Having enjoyed the excellent breakfasts we chose to eat here on our last night as we expected similar quality. Very disappointed - overcooked salmon, rubbery prawns, cold steak and very slow service even though we were only people dining.
- all staff members spoke English
- noises of the hotel renovation
We liked to stay in the 18th floor, so that we had a excellent sight over the copacabana
Floor 8, 9 and 10. that means noise and sometimes dirthyness in the Elevators for the guests
Room very spacious and clean, service very good, receptionists very helpful and good breakfast. Very close to the beach and to good for value restaurants.
Internet was slow but found internet to be a problem in most of Brazil. Roof top pool very small and only 3 loungers available.
Great Hotel at a great price. One block away from Copacabana Beach. Breathtaking views from the poolside
