    The private beach, the comfy bed and big bathroom

    Finding out qt checkout that there were addition charges for the electricity! Hotel charges an extortionate amount for wifi when there are little beach shacks up the road where you can use wifi for free (if you buy a relatively cheap drink). The hotel also adds a gratuity automatically which we thought was a little cheeky

    The staff are absolutely fantastic, though they do have a tendency to either forgot your order at the bar, or take so long to fill it that you assume they've forgotten and order again - only to have two drinks turn up together 15 minutes later. The location is superb - a great beach just out the front and right next to downtown and walking distance to the fish fry. It's also a long way from the horrible flashy resort at Atlantis.

    Paying $350/night, you expect the shower to drain, rather than standing in 4 inches of water 10 minutes in. You expect hot water (it worked 2 days out of 4 for me). You expect to be able to turn taps off (the bath tap ran constantly, despite the fact I never touched it other than to try to turn it off tighter). These are the plumbing issues you have to expect from a building built in the 1920s!

    A lot of beach lounge chairs were broken. Room service was poor, one day no towels were left, the next day no back up toilet was left and I had a case of diarrhea, at the beach bar I order a hamburger and the beef was over cooked I took one bite and had to leave the rest and for $15.00 it was a disgrace plus later I got indigestion from it I could of gone across the street to McDonald's and for a 1/3 of the price got a much better meal. Plus they taxed and tip you to death!

    Location was great, nice rooms.

    Pool bar food was average at best, overcharged and overpriced. Additional charges for almost everything; tax, gratuity for room staff (not told this beforehand), energy surcharge. Almost doubled our bill. Queried it at the time, was told someone would contact me - they didn't and charged more than quoted on booking.com. Expected much more from Hilton!

    The location - perfect! Very nice beacharea, and nice view. Good beds

    Should not be necessary to pay for the wifi. Miss to have a balcony..

    Great having an ice machine just around the corner from the room. Nice little private beach and great location to shops, restaurants and bars etc.

    All staff except for the doormen and one lady in housekeeping are quite rude and so not serviceminded. I mean this is a Hilton so some service and politeness is to be expected, right? Upon I arrival I wasn't listed in the system and upon check out my bill my doubled I knew about the taxes but they also charge you 5-10$ a day per person as gratuity and extras for electricity etc. So expect 30$ extra a night per person (tax not incl). My bill was corrected though but its not something you want to deal with at 4:30am. Drinks and food way too expensive for what it was...

    the beach and pool area; concierge staff friendly and helpful

    have to pay for wifi in rooms and it is expensive; staff in outside restaurant overcharge, and seem to have no interesting in serving customers; apart from the fish, the food was awful; 15% automatic tip, plus expectation of extra tips as well

    Location, rooms where good, Cabanas around the pool.

    Restaurant service times unacceptable. 45 minute wait for dinner with only 8 people in the restaurant, 1 1/2 hour wait for 2 salads with grilled chicken at the pool. Manager could not even be bothered to come talk to us.Room was not made up and cleaned. when we returned at 7PM on our second night. Serious management issues.

    Basic room for amount charged

    Being charged for telephone calls (2) to American Express when they were reverse charges to Amex. Girl at desk would not deduct from my invoice. Have spoken to Amex about and they will take matter up with Hilton Nassau. Extra taxes not specified in original internet booking. Also spoke to Amex about tax.

    Needs a little work inside…She's looking a little tired…Loose moulding in some rooms…Caulking around the showers…Just look around when ya walk in the lobby and down the halls…some fresh paint…She's a Grand OLD Lady and She needs a little Sprucing up…Staff is great., Everyone is professional , for the money…MAKE HER STAND TALL…

    It was in a perfect location in downtown Nassau. It was elegant and beautiful, clean and comfortable. The beach was nice, the water incredibly clear and there were NO rocks or shoal or sharp objects in the sand (didn't need water socks). The pool was nice with lots of seating options at both the beach and pool. My ocean view was beautiful, my room and common areas of the hotel were clean and in good shape. They had a Canadian TV channel so I could watch all the Canadian Olympic athletic events while there!

    It was a bit pricey and there were a lot of add-on fees. A gratuity was already added on for housekeeping services which was OK, but for every service (room-service, etc) I paid an additional delivery service and a gratuity automatically, even if all I ordered was hot water. The final bill was quite a bit more than I had anticipated.

    Breakfast and dinner

    Rooms, they were not cleaned well and the bathroom was full with mold on the walls. Takes 18 minutes until you have warm water in the shower in the morning.. etc....

    I did not appreciate having you quote a price of approx. 1100 only to get a bill of close to 1600.00 after taxes and gratuities per person automatically put on my bill everywhere from room maids to bar etc.

    The hotel was great - a beautiful colonial hotel right in the heart of Nassau.

    The resort charged a number of fees, including a daily resort fee and a twice-daily fee for room cleaning. I would have preferred to know the total amount for the stay when I booked, rather than having the cost nearly double at the end of the trip.

    The location, Some of the food.

    Sir/Madam, My wife and I stayed at the British Colonial Nassau from Dec. 10th to 17th. I would like to make a formal complaint regarding many aspects of our stay. 1-- When we arrived, we were given a room on the 4th floor (#419). The room only had one chair, the desk chair. I went to the reception area (evening of the 10th), and asked to get another chair. I was told that that room only had one chair. Absolutely ridiculous!! We have stayed in that hotel many times before and never had a room with only one chair. One of us had to stay in bed to watch TV. Finally, after many arguments They sent me a small strait chair; very uncomfortable. The next day, I went to the desk and asked again. The two women that were at the desk were rude and dismissed with no regards at all. I showed them a magazine in which a room is featured and showed two chairs, one armchair and one desk chair. They didn't even look at it. We spent the whole stay like that. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A HILTON. 2--- One of the windows is so dirty, that you can hardly see through it. 3--- The carpet and the drapes are also very dirty. 4-- The food is Ok, but not what is was once. 5--- The service at the desk slow and unacceptable. We are good clients of Hilton, see our record We are booked for two weeks at the hilton Barbados feb. 18th to march 4th. I consider that we didn't get the treatement that we paid for, ie executive floor,etc. I want to get compensation for this horrible stay. Thanks for your consideration Vianney

    Nice facilities, pool, garden and gym. Good bar.

    Service was below average. Housekeeping forgot twice to give us towels (out of four days) and didn't pick up the laundry items we had call them to pick up.

    Location is in the centre of town and perfect when I am there on business.

    The ambiance of the restaurant is very cold, low ceiling and feels awkward. The lounge is much better. The wait staff are not as engaged as most would hope although the front desk staff are great.
