The location was great. Bar staff were good.
Some staff were rude and unhelpful (in the dining room).
The location of the resort is perfect if you want to get away from the tourist trap of Nassau and Paradise Island. Love Beach and the view were gorgeous. The ocean water seemed warm once you got use to it and the sun was shining. There was a lot of seaweed you had to wade through to get into the clear water.
There were several issues with our stay. As noted in previous reviews, there are things under the resorts control and other things that are not. We had the misfortune of being there during a 24 hour torrential rain storm. Lousy weather is a risk anywhere and not their fault. What we experienced only happens every 5 years or so we were told. The next day however, the high temperature was in the low 60s with 30 mph winds so it felt like it was in the 40's. Again, they can't control the weather. The problem came at night. Since there are only shutters on the huts and no windows, it was like we were sleeping outside. The wind caused the front door to bang all night. The air conditioning unit (intended for both heat and cooling) did not function (no heat). The only warmth was from a small space heater that failed. I went to the front desk to get a replacement. They had none. We had to take one from another empty hut. The heater was minimally effective since the wind was blowing through the cracks in the door and the shutters. The cable TV went out so nothing to watch on TV. The outdoor bar and pool area was closed due to the high winds so you were basically left to read. The wifi was slow and weak or non-existent. We left the Northeast to get away from the cold and snow only to find conditions worse in our tropical hut! While they have no control over the weather, it was unfortunate that the huts are not better suited for unseasonable weather (windows and heat if needed). The huts were recently painted, but the tile around the pool area is cracked and jagged. To be polite, the place is "tired". The umbrellas near the pool area had blown over (or were deliberately laid down) in the middle of the walkway. It became a bit of an obstacle course to get between the hut and the restaurant. 15% gratuity is added automatically on EVERY check you will get anywhere on the island.
The views are absolutely amazing!!!
Slightly tired property. Could use some TLC.
It's an amazing place and it's like your in another world. We stayed in hut 117 and it was just a blessing. I would highly recommend staying there.
Be prepared to pay for a cab ride to in town about $30 per way.
Everything...the staff. the food and drinks and the great room up high looking out on the water. Will go back
I never felt alone as the staff were very friendly & exceptionally helpful. I loved my room & my stay, even the free burger and beers when the power went out over the whole island for a few hours.
They were unable to get wifi working again after the power outage over the whole island, but in saying that, they let me use the front desk internet to check into my flight.
The position is relaxing and the room nice and confortable.
The restaurant is poor and the menu very limited. The quality good but not convenient for the price. Furthermore the room have a little bed (160x180) and if you want the normal king size bed you have to pay 80 usd por day more. The beach is at 200 mt and you had to walk. For the price is expensive hotel.
Service, cleaning staff and bar staff were phenomenal. The Location was perfect and description on their site is spot on. Low Key, Beautiful, and Unique!! Loved it!! A perfect place to go for a romantic, no frills, pure beach vacation... -Robyn Cleveland, OH
The Music they looped needs to be more up to date, or more of an island mix added.
The huts are a bit rustic, but the location & views are superb. If you are looking for luxury or lots of action, this isn't the right place for you, but if you are looking for peace & quiet and relaxation, this place is great. I have stayed at several first-class hotels in Nassau, but I will probably go back to Compass Point for all of my future trips.
The $25 per day "Housekeeping Gratuity" charge and the $25 per day "Resort Fee" are just a way to charge more for the rooms without telling you in advance.
The staff were amazing - couldn't have been more accommodating. Food was great and view stunning.
The view, the restaurant, the rooms, the jacuzzi, the peace of the place
certain members of staff weren't very nice
The tranquility of the place with the amazing views.
Great location to chill out
