We came to Bahamas for our honeymoon and all the Atlantis area is very nice, many aquariums all over the hotel, staff very friendly, the pools.
Expect to be waked up by the gardeners cutting the grass with the lawn mower At 7 AM, Not so ideal for relaxing vacation... They gave us 75$ refund but it's nothing when you spend 300$ per night! Also I expect from a 5* to have more bathroom facilities (q-tips, cotton etc...)like all other 5* hotels I went to. The food/drinks were ridiculously expensive and weren't worth it. Don't eat at the "Olives", we had a very bad and not professional experience there.
Lots of things to do and the rooms are clean and lovely.
quite expensive (food, drinks, activities )
It's like living in an aquarium. The grounds are spectacular. The employees are warm and friendly.
Nickel and dimed for every extra. Exorbitant pricing. $3.49 for one banana. $9.50 for a litre of water. We will not be back on principle alone.
Atlantis is fully enough to have fun. Its huge and has everything you can wish.
Staff wasnt quite polite. Especially noone want to be cheated like we were. Everything was paid when cheked in, but when checked out, the price was way different than the initial. The only thing the receptionist said was "it was miscalculation and mistake". No "apologize" nothing. Housekeepers were more polite than the reception guy. So be carefull and make sure you dont be cheated. Not serious for such a hotel.
Overall beauty of the resort. The staff was very helpful with smiles on their faces.
Cost of food for the quality. The additional $80 to $100 a day in fees for the room. $15 a day to use the refrigerator in the room. You do not have to rent it.
She is very organize
Water adventure/cabanas/music and service outside
pricey for average room, room refrigerator not allow to store own food,
The service that I received was amazing.. Staff was friendly and accommodating as well as professional
Everything was a bit pricey
The pools, the sea
The location, very isolated. The service was awful (we had issues all the same with our safe, our TV... and they just say they'll come but you can wait for them for hours). The food at the pool was awful and you don't have much choice since you're stuck there.
water slides and location
rooms dated and new resorts coming check in had 2 rooms requested one king and 2nd room double- and also called down to make sure. When arrived told it was only a request and then given a room that smelled mold which needed to be changed cost of not being able to have a simple meal without extreme cost if you do not want fast food
All of the activities were well worth the money and included in the payment. Except the casino :) The room was clean and Paulette the housekeeper was SO sweet. We read mixed reviews about the royal towers rooms not being maintained. We didn't find that to be true at all. Complete luxury experience. Clean linens. I will say after going from royal towers to coral. I'm glad we paid the extra money there was a big difference in comfort from tower to tower. It felt like the ac was out over there. The beaches are a lot nicer from royal reef and cove. The coral and beach tower beaches looked over crowded and have a lot of beach solicitors. If your looking for a less family vibe stay in the reef and cove to have all access to ALL beaches and less children.
IN THE EVENING: activities only include Casino and night club. If you get bored at night you could take a shuttle to the main island. Paying for lockers: be prepared You WILL have to pay for lockers since your room key can not get wet so be prepared for that 9$ a day. They do not accept cash. Unless someone in your group will watch your gear. Food: is amazing but costly. I would recommend upon landing picking up water bottles, alcohol, and snacks. That is what we did and we saved an absorbent amount of money.
The hotel and service staff
All the extra charges
The opulence the views
Pricing ,limited access tv did not work was told I get a credit of 243.89 upon check out only 75.00 credit given. If I had not reviewed my bill all the free items were not subtracted. I had to bring this to the attention of the clerk.
Wonderful vacation for our young children . Lots to do for all ages .
Some pools were over crowded with other vacationers from cruises. Also prices were inflated . Expect 40% higher than what you would pay in the states .
The location is great. It is very central to water park, casino and all restaurants.
Pool, lazy river, ocean access
Royal Towers looked dirty and aged. The water features for the salt water exhibits all grown over with algae and need cleaned badly. Very dissapointed that such a place of beauty needed so much cleaning.
Physically Beautiful Resort
Too Crowded with Cruise Ship tours and guests. Long lines to get ID bands to move throughout the property and police like check points requiring ID to pass
The location and privacy was good hotel staff was nice the room was a lil bit small but ok
Room was too small Maids didn't clean the room that good afterwards hair was still found on the bed
-loved the activities -loved the staff -loved all the restaurant choices
-way over priced -had to pay for the use of the fitness center? -room was not lavish enough for the cost
Beautiful view from room. The surrounding property is very nice except for gasoline golf carts that are all oever and that stink. Also, the golf cart drivers don't worry much about people walking. They should be on a different path.
No nice ocean beach, the price is not the price, too many add ons to room price, furniture needs updating. The room is a *** room in a ***** location.
Amenties Security Friendlyness of staff Helpness of staff Privacy Equity etc
The walk through the casino and too much smoking inside for families who have youmg children and themselves who doesn't smoke That's the main thing I hate because I'm not a smoker!!!
All the added expenses not advised when booking. You MUST pay $6 PER PERSON to have room cleaned + $31.80 for the use of water, electricity, air conditioning, basically everything in the room. Plus visitors tax. Plus 15% tax on every single bill.after all that you don't have much money left from holiday fund. Restaurants ALL MUST be booked to ensure dinner, no nice places for coffee sandwich or lunch.
Staff was amazing and so friendly! Food was great too - but pricey. Landscaping beautiful!
Think the hotel should appoint certain staff to pick up towels and garbage around the property. Such a beautiful property - clutter takes away from it. Mattress needs to be flipped or something -- maybe too old, not sure.
Many family options for entertainment. Bellmen & housekeeping were very responsive and friendly. Teens really liked Club Rush experience and open basketball courts. Even though we spent a lot if family time together, these options allowed us to separate as desired.
Altantis is wearing and it shows. Aquariums were cloudy and the observation tunnels (walking & water park) were coated with algae. The Mall of America in Minnesota has a more impressive aquarium in this aspect. The staff is just going through the motions 95% of the time. It may be the 15% automatic gratuity or just poor management. This is very apparent as soon as you venture off the property and experience true Bahamian warmth and appreciation for visitors! Atlantis is used to being "the property" on the island but competition is coming back to Cable Beach! Beware! If you are from any civilized city you'll be overwhelmed by the 1970's "smoking permitted everywhere" policy! Sure ruins the beach if you happen to be down wind from a bunch of too-young-too-know-better 20 something party girls from Philly. Also, even though Altantis places a representative at every conceivable entrance to the property to turn-back "free loaders" , beach "vendors" have seemingly unlimited access and you'll be approached every 10 minutes for booze cruises, waverunners rental, shirts, flutes, coconut drinks etc. (all non-Atlantis sanctioned). Finally, anyone familiar with these types of properties expects to pay a resort "penalty"...the $16 hamburger, the $5 Gatorade, but Atlantis just reminds you constantly that you are getting paying excessively for everything all the time.
