The place is very clean and quiet, people are friendly and helpful-Victor checked me in and took care of any needs. The location is good, 2.5 miles from town-a short, although bumpy, ride to town in a golf cart. There is a tour company, Suya, about a 100 feet from the complex which made it easy to set up excursions. I did manage to do some snorkeling off the dock and even saw some type of ray swim by. There are two restaurants only a few minutes walk from the condo so if you don't want to go to town to eat those are convenient. I managed to get a pretty decent wifi signal in my room where I know other guest could only get it outside. As a solo traveler I felt very safe. I would definitely recommend Caribe Island to others.

The room I was in is advertised as a "studio" which is basically a single hotel room with a small kitchen area (not much counter space). The room is on the bottom floor, under a staircase set back from the front of the property. When I arrived the curtains were very sheer and would allow anyone walking by a view into the room, I would not be able to have any privacy. Since the housekeeping service left for the day when I checked in Victor found an extra sheet and put it over the window, the next day housekeeping found a short but not sheer curtain to hang over and cover the windows in the door; both of these "fixes" worked fine except after a couple of days I realized there was no way to let in any outside light, allow any daylight in because there was no way to open the curtains on the window or door. The location of the room under the stairs along with the curtain problem I sort of felt like I was in a bat cave ;) The bed is worn and sagged a bit on at least one side. Not sure what type of foundation the bed is on (box spring?) but it often made a loud cracking noise when I moved-I wondered if the bed might collapse on me. My only disappointment with Caribe Island was my room situation.

If you like privacy, peace and quiet nestled with a lovely view, this is your place. Not in town but that was ok because in town was not great.

The condo was a bit out of town, which was actually perfect for us. The central courtyard, pool, and palapa are quiet, peaceful, and great for just relaxing and staring at the ocean, and the views out the window look like they're straight out of a postcard. The condo was fully-equipped, clean, and well-maintained. Tour operators universally picked us up at the condo's private dock, which was also great for swimming and snorkeling. A tour operator and dive shop, Suya Tours, is located right next door.

Don't be fooled by the "free bicycles" line-- there are two small beach-cruiser-style bikes available, but they won't fit anyone over about 5'5" properly. Rent your own bikes or a golf cart. Don't think you'll walk in to town, it is a long walk. Know that the "three-bedroom" unit is actually a one-bedroom condo that's been converted, with one large bedroom, a loft area, and what was likely intended as a living room all serving as sleeping space. Plenty of space to sleep, but very little privacy. Also, Internet is fast and free, but only available at the pool/palapa area. It *barely* reached our condo, if we sat next to the front door and were patient.

The hotel was so peaceful and quiet, there were only a few other guests there so it felt Iike we had the place to ourselves. The room was lovely and well stocked with kitchen equipment. We really like the artwork in the rooms and above the doors. We did not see one bug or critter in the room, it was very clean and well maintained.

Just a constructive comment: The little hut by the pool could have had some comfy sofas in it - we liked relaxing in here when it was too hot to be in the sun.

    Location was quiet.

The room was dirty with ants and cockroaches. The air conditioner barely worked. The bed was completely unsatisfactory. The wifi did not work and there was no couch or sitting area as explained in room description. The staff virtually impossible to get ahold of.

Very peaceful and quiet. Very nice friendly staff. Beautiful grounds and very clean grounds. Perfect for not being in the crowd. San Pedro is amazing and super friendly.

Very long walk from town so you either have to walk or pay for taxi or golf cart. No fresh towels unless you wish to pay $35 US. Better for long term stay then a week. Not close to much food wise and no breakfast in the area at all.

We rented a 2 bedroom condo, and with the pool out front in the courtyard, and the ocean a few steps away, along with the dock where we got picked up for our dive excursions, it was perfect!

From the moment we arrived we knew we made the right choice. We were greeted at the airport by George who gave us a quick tour of the busy town of San Pedro and then wisked us away down south about 2 miles to our beach front condo. Clean and well appointed we could not have asked for more for our 5 night stay. We stocked up on groceries and drinks and settled into a relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings. Bikes were available to us for free and free wifi to keep in touch with ready access to the town and any activities we cared to participate in. Next time we'll plan on staying a bit longer.

Beach. Pool. Quiet. Room was nice. Location to Suya for snorkeling was great.

Construction the first week was annoying. The road had many lumps until they grated it. It needs to be paved

    The location was good.

Continuous pounding from 7AM to 6 PM. Construction in units on both sides. Not very pleasant.
