Midas Resorts  

I cannot say enough about how fabulous it was to stay at Midas. From the moment we arrived until we left we were met by very friendly staff. The pool facility was great (find the hidden cave to escape the heat) and the cabanas were comfortable and clean. It felt like a nature oasis yet we had all the comforts and we were close to town:) We hope to return here again one day:)

Liked that the hotel was close to town. The other resorts were waaaay out and some were miles down a bumpy dirt road.

Walls were very thin. You could hear your neighbors talking in a normal tone of voice. Tmi!

Rooms were lovely in a "tropical jungle" setting. Staff was wonderful, friendly and accommodating of special requests. Food was great and served at convenient times. Pool was clean and a great temperature. Love the welcome from the hotel dog "Rusty." Good walking distance to one of the best open markets anywhere!

The cabin was cute and clean as well as being walking distance into town without being in town... The service was great, very accomidating, we could all take a lesson on how the service industry should be run in Canada and the usa by the Beliziens.

Still under constructionat the front end, however it will be very nice once constrution is complete. The cafe did not appeal to us but again the service we great.

Nicely designed rooms, near the city but outside enough to appreciate the nature and the atmosphere of the jungle nearby.

The reception at the entrance, near the hotel pool, was under renewal, therefore a bit loud and dusty around it.

The staff was excellent . They were friendly and went out of their way to make you feel like family.

They were doing some construction and it was very messy. I fell and broke my foot. After I fell, the staff went out of their way to get me ice packs and even offer to bring me breakfast to my room. They checked on me every day so I have no complaints about how it was handled.

Great with a big pool and a bar

There were ants all over the room One morning there was no water anywhere but they fixed it during the day.

Once you got behind the front building to the area with the small huts, it was very pleasant. They still have a lot of work to do to upgrade the front building and bar area in front. The swimming pool was good.

Al estar cerca del pueblo de San Ignacio resulta un hotel muy cómodo como base para hacer las excursiones por la zona. Las habitaciones De Luxe bien confortables y los bungalows algo viejitos, pero es un excelente opción para conocer la zona.

La piscina è sporca e l'idromassaggio non era funzionante

There was a pool and there was air conditioning in the room. This hotel was also close to San Ignacio, making it easy to walk into town to get food or to walk into town to catch a taxi.

There was mold all over the upper part of the walls in the room, there were ants all over the place and gaps between the door and door frame so that they got into the room and bit my partner during the night, the pool existed but was not terribly clean (lots of bugs), and the air conditioner only stayed on for about 20 minutes at a time. Although we were told that there was a bartender on duty all the time, we only saw him once during our 4 night stay. We were also told that if we lost our "pool towels" that there would be a cost of $50US per towel added to our bill. Not that we would have lost the towels, but seriously...I can understand a replacement cost, but there was nothing special about these towels and that sort of threat isn't exactly a way to make someone's stay hospitable. The "restaurant" was only open for breakfast and the food was awful and pricy. The staff store the eggs under the counter in the kitchen (ie: not refrigerated in the over 30 degree Celsius heat). Due to illness, we had to stay an extra day and the unsympathetic front desk staff were not able to book the room from their computer...thank goodness we had a tablet with wireless capability or we would have been out of luck. This is NOT A RESORT!!!!! If you are looking for utilitarian rooms and the "luxury" of a pool, this hotel will do, but do not expect the comforts of a resort. Do not expect value for your money. And if you stay here, eat in town...it is cheaper food and drink and the food is WAY better!

Was reasonably priced and convenient location.

Booking was for "1 Deluxe Double Suite with Pool View". Pool was not even close to the 'suite' and a few minutes walk from the room.

The cabins were nicely laid out in the garden and very pleasant.

Staff were really pleasant and helpful and friendly. Cabins were lovely and having a fridge was very welcome

Hotel complex site was a bit of a mess. Restaurant food for breakfast wasn't great, especially the coffee, although the service was very good. Showers in cabins weren't powerful enough.
