A beautiful remodeled boutique resort right on the Caribbean Sea in Placencia. Minutes from the small airport for easy pick up and departure. Lovely accommodations. We stayed in one of the “tree house” rooms, away from common walls. It was well appointed and comfortable and wi-fi access was great. We borrowed their very nice bikes and rode into town a few times for breakfast. The best thing about this place was Donny, Carlos, Gladys, Jose, George, Moises, masseuse Alba and all the rest of the staff. This is one of the most attentive, kind and friendly staffs we’ve ever come across. It felt like we’d been welcomed into a Belizean family! There is much more I could say but better to find out for yourself. We’ve traveled all over the world and have stayed in all levels of hotels and hovels and elegance and simplicity and the Mariposa rates as one of our favorites. Oh, and did I mention their restaurant The Breezeway? Top class meals on the beach. Try the Belizean breakfast with fry jacks for $10US.

I was a little nervous about staying here because, due to it being eco-friendly, the cabins didn't have air conditioning and the stay wasn't going to be as luxurious as some other stays I've had, but I am so glad I took a chance and we decided to stay here. It is a once in a lifetime experience, and you truly feel like you're on your very own private island. We were free to do whatever we wanted whenever we wanted, and the food and drinks were absolutely excellent. Every single thing we ate was delicious. It exceeded all of our expectations. We were able to snorkel and kayak, and my husband went fishing every day we were there (and caught something to eat each day too!). The wildlife is amazing to see, and the water is absolutely crystal clear. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and they're always around to answer questions, check to see if you're hungry/thirsty, or need anything. Allen and Lloyd make our stay remarkable, and we will be recommending this island stay for years to come!

Great location right in the heart of the village. Beautiful pool and beach. Rooms were large and well appointed. Staff was phenomenal! Vanessa is an absolute gem and made our days at the pool perfect! Jacqueline went above and beyond to ensure everything from transportation to Easter egg hunts were taken care of.

Placencia Villas is located in the heart of the village of Placencia, within a short walk of restaurants, shops and banks. The beach is within a minute walking distance of the hotel.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The facilities were clean and nicely kept up for being an older hotel. It was easy to walk to town and the pier. The bar and food were very good.

Good location, right on the beach. Close to all the stores and restaurants. Bohemian restaurant was great. Super friendly staff. Joseph was exceptional.

Location, staff, cleanliness, everything! Our family of 5 stayed in one bedroom suite (3 kids shared pull out couch and cot in living room). We couldn’t be happier with Miramar. Ilsa and Bula and all the staff made us feel so welcomed and everything we could possibly want to be near was near Miramar. Everything was so thoughtfully cared for. We loved the suite (two balconies!), the pool, the beach. It was perfect place for Placencia holiday. Thank you!

The the door to our room didn’t lock and they couldn’t fix it. That isn’t very safe.

A good location for a relaxing stay in Placencia, Driftwood Gardens Guesthouse is a guest house surrounded by views of the garden.

Wonderful hosts, toys in room and at pool, attentive and helpful proprietors, safe area, very clean, great pool, all the amenities needed, and we loved taking the kayaks out. Perfect air conditioning when needed!
