A real gem - high quality, very homely and fantastic value for money!
We chose The Red Hut Inn based on the great reviews on Booking.com and it was even better than expected.
The owners Julia and Lewis have taken great care to provide guests with an excellent stay and were extremely helpful and hospitable the whole time. Julia made a great recommendation for Spoonaz in Belize City, a quality cafe/bar where you can start on coffee and progress to rum watching the world go by right on the waterfront by the Swing Bridge.
They also provide a very convenient airport shuttle service and check flight times and status for you to get you there on time so you dont need to worry about anything at all!
It is located just outside downtown Belize City, no more than a 10-15 Belize $ taxi ride to downtown and is very close to the sea, several great restaurants (including Sahara Grill - Middle Eastern food - get the kebabs!), shops, ATMs and the Seafront Promenade where you can walk east along the coast to the multicoloured BELIZE sign.
The double room was extremely spacious with a huge comfy bed, effective AC, good bathroom (with hot, high pressure showers!), and all towels/linen/soap etc provided. It also has a TV and the fast Wifi works very well in the room. We were in room 2.
Breakfast is $7.50 US / person and is extremely tasty with generous portions. Cheesy scrambled egg, toast, and bacon wrapped ham with a citrus dressing. It was brought up to us sitting on their spacious, fully kitted out balcony, with hammocks, tables, chairs, plugs and wifi! Great coffee too, with free refills!
Overall Julia and Lewis have a fantastic place here and I would thoroughly recommend the Red Hut Inn to anyone staying in Belize City - you won't be disappointed!
