I stayed 3 nights without the breakfast, was during the jazz festival. If I were to return, I would book one of the better rooms. There is no ensuite in the standard room, the toilet is in one corner of the room (walled in but with only a curtain, could actually look into the courtyard while on toilet!), the shower in the other corner with a sink. Water got all over the floor from shower. Nowhere to hang wet towels. Mattress was clearly very old, I slept along the bottom of the bed as it hurt my back. There was a microwave and mini fridge, but no kettle for tea/coffee. No hairdryer - shared bathroom across the hall had a hairdryer, but it didn't work. Was cheap so you get what you pay for, ok for a couple of nights but wouldn't stay longer than that. Loved Montreal though!
Location was good, close to train station. Although would be a bit too far to walk if you had big bags. Staff were friendly enough and the place was clean.
