The mackerel where absent
Direct waterfront with bay views, complete with jetty, if you wish a fishing rod and lures for the fish you can see, plus jane's offer to cook the catch for brekky. Comfort and friendliness plus, including the pets and wild birds. Only planned 1 night, stayed 2, would have been longer if time allowed, and would have been spoiled rotten by Jane's hospitality.
The 0.01 deduction in our score was for proximity to the road, but this was far outweighed by all the plusses.
We'd go back for the location and THE BREAKFAST which was fantastic everyday. Location is great (by the sea), hostess was very helpful with info about the area, local restaurants and with sharing interesting stories.
although this B&B is right next to the street, beds were very comfortable so you forgot about any traffic.
Incredibly concerned about guests welfare and travel experience!
A million dollar view. Morning omlets cooked to perfection. Great dinner recommendation.
Not a thing
The gardens and water front location was great. Jane made very yummy breakfasts and was extremely helpful at recommending restaurants & places to visit .
The road noise was hard to get used to the first night and we didn't like sharing the bathroom.
Beautiful view and home, filled wth antiques. The owner was extremely helpful and a wonderful cook. I would highly recommend this B and B.
Jane and April were very welcoming. The property is lovely and would have liked the weather to cooperate so we could have enjoyed the grounds outdoors more.
We thought sharing a bathroom might have posed some issues but surprisingly it didn't. However, this was the first B&B that we stayed at (and we've stayed at approx. a dozen) where you're told exactly what time breakfast is served instead of being given a 1-2hr window and other guests got to choose what we were being served. We didn't get to choose for ourselves. :(
Beautifully cared for and decorated house; fantastic garden on the bay; wonderful breakfast; comfortable bed; very clean.
Windows don't have great blinds/curtains so bedroom quite bright in the morning.
The property is one of a kind, neat, nicely decorated, clean, and comfortable, and Jane the proprietor was very nice and her breakfast was perfect, and Booking.com called us prior to arrival to alert us about her not taking credit card, and about us going to be late in arrival, and because of that, I could call her to alert our late arrival, which worked out fine at the end. The property has deck for a boat launch, and nice plants and gardens to walk around.
You should be warned that the property does not have more than three (I think) guest rooms. First night, I thought the next door was her's as well and parked in the next dorr's parking lot. The parking and the property is on the right side of the complex. It is not negative, but since I did not know, I stepped off the steps and scraped my ankle.
The house is a charming home decorated with many antiques. The host is a charming lady by the name of Jane. She created beautiful breakfasts while alway introducing the house guests to each other and facilitated conversations as to include everyone. Jane makes every houseguest feel included with her warm personality. The property is like a resort there really is no need to leave to property if you wanted to just stay and relax. This place we will definitely return to.
Having to leave such a wonderful place.
The breakfast& the beautiful decor!
Views of the sea were great. Very big property between the road and the the sea. Lovely well-kept house. Gorgeous stained glass panels throughout.
The road is a bit noisy if you're not used to that.
The house & grounds are like a cover from better homes & gardens. Wonderful breakfasts, rooms extremely comfortable, very accommodating hostess -- highly recommend.
Breakfast was great, host was a lovely person room was pleasant and clean. And there really was a boat to see.....1920s 40 ft sailboat being revived.
Traffic noise was quite a disruption
Everything: Fantastic breakfast, supercomfortable bed and room. beautiful location on the water. APRIL the therapy dog.
The grounds were breathtaking. Comfortable, clean rooms and delicious breakfast. She served us fresh snow crab omelet and Accommodated gluten free diet. Great hostess.
Shared bathroom, but it worked out fine.so e street noise.
We truly enjoyed our stay at A Boat to Sea. Jane is a very gracious host and the location is perfect if you are taking the ferry to NL. The backyard is lovely with many options of seating area - we wish we could have stayed longer to sample them all.
Convenient area to stay, wonderful host and very helpfull, beautiful gardens, great breakfast, April the owners dog.
All was great...the house, the room and the owner was very nice. Breakfast was good too.
An all-round beautiful B&B.....just charming, perfect.
Our stay was too short
The home and grounds were just beautiful! So much to see
We shared a bathroom and every time we went to go in it was occupied so there was no time to shower in the morning.
The grounds were spectacular and our hostess a pleasure. She is very gracious and very interesting.
That we were only spending one night as there was so much to explore and experience on the grounds alone.
Loved the gardens and the breakfast was a treat.
