Excellent location - Near the Metro and the shuttle for the airport; Close to restaurants and general stores. Very helpfull staff.
Handy to museum and the Bell Centre. Beds were comfortable and TV & WIFI works fine. A restaurant is adjacent to this hotel seerving typical light fare with fresh fruit, cereal, bread and yogurt. Breakfast waffles were delicious, made by the charming silver haired gentleman who had greeted us on arrival and taken our bags up the stairs to the room. He refused any tip! Sound proof room so no disturbance from the street though we were right at the front of the building.
Hard to climb stairs, and no elevator. The shower stall was small but adequate. The room was hot and it took awhile to cool down for sleep comfort. The friendly staff came by to clean after 3 PM when we had returned to rest so we refused a refreasher of the room, not a big deal as we were only staying two nights. On checking out the man at the desk was busy on his cell phone with a private agitated call and pointedly ignored us who were hoping for him to fetch us a cab. After 5 minutes of waiting for him, we noted he continued to pace talking on the phone and ignore us, we left to hail a fine cab from the street.
The location was perfect. Getting just about anywhere was easy. The room was small but perfect for a weekend away and only 2 of us. I was pleasantly surprised. The continental breakfast had way more than I expected! The bed was comfortable, the staff were friendly and you can't beat the price!
The wifi didn't work in our room. So, we used it in the lobby/restaurant area. Not a huge deal - since we were hardly in our room anyways!
Staff was drinked
Wow what a comfey bed. Nothing fancy in the room. But wow real nice bedding and pillows.
The hotel was run down. We went through 3 rooms before finding one that was just half decent. The old adage - you get what you pay for certainly applied here. The pictures on the website were very decieving.
Good location. Helpful and friendly staff on the first day. Good breakfast.
Wifi didn't work properly for us (and others) and they kept changing the excuses.
The gentleman that greeted us and checked us in was outstanding. He noticed I was on crutches and offered to give us a room on a lower floor. He was helpful , considerate and because we felt great with the initial contact at the hotel , everything else had to be just fine. People really make all the difference, we would definitely go back and recommend to our friends!!
room was a small box
Cost, location and price included breakfast with excellent waffles made to order! Comfortable and clean beds. Air conditioning and heat controls.
Noise all hours of morning and bathrooms are small. Not a very good view of back roof.
Location was close to where I had to be the following morning.
From the second I walked in the Homeless shelter, I mean Hotel stunk like a soup kitchen. I was double charged for what was called a room. It was 60 plus steps to get up to my room. When I got through the maze of hallways and stairwells my room was no more than 15 degrees. I then decided to get a drink from the vending machine which is no more than 15 feet from the hotel clerk. I asked for change to grab a pop and his reply was "we don't make change". I was astonished that this place was in business. There is a reason this place is $80 a night. Believe me!!!!
Easy access from the airport as the 747 bus stops outside the hotel. Breakfast was ok, and also handy to walk to old Montreal, and St Catherines street.
Staff were not helpful. Room was cramped and noisy as Rene Levesque street runs by the bedroom window. Chipped paint, and dirty rugs.
Location, comfortable beds, quiet, clean, lots of parking
Needs updating, wifi didn't work in rooms, awkward stairs
Great customer service Very clean rooms Location for us was perfect, will parking facilities Excellent value for the price would go back!
room check in was late as they were still cleaning the room was very small
Very convenient location, especially to Via Rail; excellent breakfast buffet; clean rooms; interesting hotel decor; helpful and pleasant staff
I counted 75 stair steps to my room; the absense of an elevator means this hotel is not suitable for persons who are disabled, obese or physically out of shape. Luckily for me, I'm in good shape!
Clean room, friendly staff, good breakfast.
Noise from the street....all night long and no free parking.
Very comfortable sleep and perfect location to get to the Bell Center.
The restaurant service, went in to get a drink waited more then 20 minutes, so we ended up just walking out.
- Food was 20% off at their indian restaurant (very convenient) - staff was lovely, on our first day we were upgraded to a room with a little more space on the 2nd floor at no extra cost - after check out, we were able to keep our luggage and belongings in a locked room on the first floor (this was the best offer they could have given us and it was free of charge - i would recommend giving a tip or anything for their kind gesture) - Heater worked perfectly and room temperature was easily adjustable in both the room and within the bathroom - water pressure of the shower was strong - The rooms were designed very intelligently as the bathroom door was a sliding door to save on room space - The room was very dark in the morning due to several curtain options - second floor door was accessible to go outside - continental breakfast options were fabulous as there was plenty to eat with a variety of options - also complimentary
-wi-fi connected easily to phone but not to laptop...could be the strength of the signal or time of day (not necessarily a big problem for us) - rooms are rather small but we did not mind, our experience was very pleasant, warm and comfortable nonetheless - we did not have our bed made on our second day and we were missing toilet paper as well....however, considering the cleaning lady is extremely busy all that was necessary was to tell front desk and within 10 minutes we had everything we needed. - due to the construction and renovation of the building the sink was too close to the glass holder so you have to watch your distance if you decide to wash your face. - Nothing negative came of our trip or our stay at A2K, everyone should give it a try!
Great value. The hotel is centralized: 20+ minute walk from Old Montreal, Chinatown, and Harbor. The backside of the hotel is boulevard rene levesque, which has a ton of shopping and eateries. We drove to Montreal and expected to pay $20 a night for parking; however the parking was discounted through the hotel at $12 a night. Mount Royal and other neighborhoods (50 minute walk) - we visited the Oratory - were 10 minute drives. Just keep in mind you have to pay to park everywhere. Also the continental breakfast was great: waffles, bagels, toast, juice, fruit, cereal, and more.
The stairs, no elavator. But we didn't mind.
bathroom wifi price (too low ?)
Extremely noisy from early traffic Room very small No room cleaning (busy thanksgiving week end) Breakfast aspect of "worn out" place from outside to lobby.
- The staff tried to provide the best help they can
- Totally unprofessional
The staff were fantastic - very willing to help with directions etc. The beds were the best I have ever slept in with regards to hotel beds. The breakfast the next day was fantastic and all you can eat. This was included in our hotel price.
Bit of a link in the ceiling I think - I think this place could use a few updates but for the price for a downtown hotel it was fantastic !
The location is perfect and right in downtown.
The size of the bedrooms are very small, and the breakfast didn't have much in it.
Location is the only good thing about this hotel
No hot water in a shower. After several complains no solution was founded. No volume in TV and no one bothered to come and check . Very small room.extremly basic breakfast.
Renovated Victorian home. The bed is comfy. Room small but cosy. Excellent price, great location.
Wifi did not work properly. Breakfast presentation is a little poor.
