Excellent location in old town. Staff parked the car.
Location was excellent
The staff wasn't friendly. Room was so small and very claustrophobic. We had to carry our laugage two ways up and down to fifth floor
The location in Old Quebec was perfect; walking distance to everything. The staff was very pleasant and attentive to our needs. This was our first time at Acadia but it won't be our last! Merci à tous et toutes pour l'excellent séjour à Québec.
It was quiet, cozy, and we felt safe and taken care of. The location in the old town was excellent. The staff was professional, answered all our questions, and were very helpful.
The first night we had no hot water. The next morning the hot water was still out. It wasn't their fault, just one of those things that happen, and they were working on fixing it. They could have, however, given a discount on the cost of our stay, which they did not.
Mold smell was over powering in the room . Had to pri open the window for fresh air . Fire place tripped breaker and didnt work at all. No help offered to carry luggage up chairs. No hot water last night and last morning before traveling.
Great location within Old Quebec City with easy walking to tourist destinations and amazing views of the city, Port of Quebec, and St. Lawrence River.
Weak Wi-Fi, low doorways and ceilings on top floor (from a 6'3" individual).
Maid service was very slow
It wasn't the Frontenac, but that was good. This hotel was on a quiet side street minutes from everything; it lacked the hustle and bustle and commotion of the Frontenac. Easy walking everywhere; very quaint place in the old town. I'd go back here again.
Some staffers were great; others, less so. Seems daytime staff and cleaning crew is on its game; but room phone didn't work, which meant wake-up call that the night crew was to give didn't happen ( and no one told us in advance it wouldn't work!! ). The relaxing room was dingy - why bother?
Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is good for access to the Old City. Room was quiet even though the place tends to bustle.
There is no restaurant nor any breakfast space on the premises. The building is a rabbit warren of narrow corridors and crazy tight, steep little staircases that seem to go in random directions and double back on themselves. Not recommended for older folks with mobility problems.
Our room was on the main floor. I was happy that I didn't have to climb stairs.
The loveseat in our room was so uncomfortable that I couldn't sit on it and sat on the desk chair instead.
The staff, with exceptions due to language, were helpful. Breakfast was wonderful.
Room was up 5 flights of rickety stairs (in a neighborhood which is hard to maneuver).
Quiet, cozy, modern comforts, including very fast wifi and updated bathroom.
Had to park in parking garage a few blocks away, but this was not a huge problem in the summer. $18/day.
Perfect and close to everything definitely goingto stay there on our next visit.
Exposed brick wall!
4 flights of stairs - thank goodness we had small suitcases
The staff at the hotel were extremely efficient and helpful. The hotel was just what we expected... small, yet very usable & clean bathroom; comfortable bed. Lots of charm, in general.
Everything was "as-advertised", so there was nothing that we didn't like.
The location is perfect. I love staying in historic old buildings when I'm in Quebec City, and this hotel is a lovely combination of old-world charm and modern convenience.
We were a little concerned as we saw two people driving our vehicle about two hours after we checked in... nowhere near the hotel. When we asked the valet, upon our return, where the car was, he said it was in the lot right behind the building. It wasn't. Another valet explained that since we were there for a longer stay, they parked our car in a remote lot across town and explained where it was. That cleared it up, but the confusion had us a little scared that someone was joy-riding in our vehicle.
We loved the hotel, the european charm and most especially the location. The concierge was helpful in giving us ideas of indoor things to do because it was raining. I would go back to Acadia on our next trip to Quebec City.
we were there for two nights only, came back at 4:00 after being out since 9:00 AMand room still had not been made. They did apologize when they knocked on the door at 5:00 PM to clean it and offer us clean towels which was nice.
Great location Free WI-FI
Expensive 'Deluxe' room was outdated
Location was great and the room is very clean. Cute sink and I liked the stairs - good exercise!
Soap from dispensers; no soap beside the sink; challenge to control the air conditioning; noisy fan that always comes on when the light is turned on in the bathroom
I was there at 2pm and I was told I can't check in intil 4pm. At night when I was all wet from the rain and wanted to check in ASAP, the staff was having a phone call. She definitely knew I booked the hotel and I only need the key to get in. Again, I'm all wet standing in front of her. She took her time finishing info the call which was like 5 minutes, leaving me standing there all wet for 5 minutes. Any considerate staff would simply give me the key even when they are in a call.
I got a miniscule room in the attic of the hotel. The roof sloped very low over the bed, and you could only stand upright in a 2-foot strip down one side of the bed. The staff insisted I be charged full price, and were not apologetic or helpful. I peeped into some other rooms while they were being cleaned, and they were maybe 4 times as big.
Location is excellent, the staff was nice and helpful (e.g. they did not make a problem when I asked to change my rooms and also to change a blanket to a proper one according to my wish) The bed was very comfortable, and the spa is nice. The shower in one of the rooms was really good (with massage!)
Breakfast was rather bad, only toast bread, eggs and some warm (but not very well looking) food like for lunch or dinner, but no proper breakfast food (no cheese, tomatoes, salad, etc). For the whole few-days stay I had two different classic rooms. They were quite nice and ok, but for that prize, they should be a bit more comfortable. One room had no possibility of opening a window (it was nailed!)- the room was rather small and there was no fridge. The other room had no proper bathroom, just a small shower with toilet and a sink inside the bedroom area. It was in a on the ground level (a bit like half - basement) and was rather dark, (the the possibility to go out to the yard was nice). There was only some sort of thin woolen blanket to cover yourself (but they finally changed it when I asked for).
Very comfortable bed and general cleanliness was excellent. We had to report a problem with our wash hand basin on the first day and it was fixed very promptly. The staff where very friendly and helpful. Location is excellent - very central to restaurants, museums etc.I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Quebec city.
The is no lift however the porter took our suitcases to our room. We were on top floor where there is limited head room in the bedroom and bathroom. However other rooms looked fine.
I booked a queen suite online. The room was small and clean but was not anything that was shown online as a suite. Pictures were not even close
Nice room despite being in the basement
High price of parking
