The location is easy walking distance to many tourist attractions and restaurants. Had a very nice view of the harbor from our room. Facilities are very clean and well cared for. The continental breakfast is very good.
The hotel is showing its age, the furnishings are somewhat outdated and the bathroom is small.

Location,close to town.
The room was big and comfortable , Staff was very friendly Location is Excellent
THe mattress on the pull out couch was very uncomfortable .. The people upstairs walked very loudly and lots .. Floors are not sound proof .
The expanded Continental breakfast was excellent value. Fresh fruit, cold meats, etc. were a welcome change from regular Continental breakfasts. Very nice sized rooms and good kitchen facilities. Knowledgeable and helpful manager.
location rate comfortable room
continental breakfast was a little lacking
Parking was easy. Location was great, and view from our room was sweet.
Breakfast was pretty ordinary
Friendly staff, clean room and kitchen, lots of hot water and good water pressure, beautiful view, within walking distance of everything to see or do in Victoria (Victoria is great for walking--level ground and beautiful shop windows and natural views.) This would be a great spot to tuck yourself and significant other into to balance relaxation (sitting and enjoying the view, eating in sometimes, so as to rest from and walk off the delicious food available all around you in Victoria.
I can honestly say that there wasn't anything not to like, wish we could have stayed longer.
staff location breakfast bikes provided
check in time was not met
very nice room
street use by bus, moto and careless driver Even with ear plugs, very little sleep
Room was small and cramped, especially the bathroom and kitchen area. Whole building is old and needs updating.
The rooms were large with a sitting area and kitchen. WiFi worked ok. Beautiful flowers in the garden. Towels were changed daily. Really nice balconies. Generally clean with exceptions.
Corners need vacuuming. Breakfast setup is not good. They need a better layout with a regular height counter etc. The dishes are not put through a dishwasher and first one I picked up was not clean. Should decide if it is a breakfast room or a sitting area as it is too small for both.
Friendly staff, brilliant location, best value for hotels in the area
A little Dated
Friendly staff Ambience
The breakfast could be improved on. If you state 9.30 then all items should be available. Continental breakfast should include fresh veg and quality meats.
Parking included in price, use of bike, fairly spacious room. Good shower.
Room very bland.
The stuff and the bike loaner! Location! You couldn't get something better than here!
The bedding! To soft! You can get the support!
Friendly and helpful staff. The bed linen and room were clean, despite the decor looking a little tired. Great location for Fishermans Warfe and the Legislative Building.
Breakfast area a little cramped.
excellent location. great little b'fast. cosy atmosphere. friendly staff
Close to the Harbour
Petty thing but in all the hotels/motels we have stayed at the local paper was always free. They wanted to charge the cost to my room for Sundays paper. Micky Mouse comes to mind. Went to the hotel next door and got one there. As well the breakfast set up seems to have been something that was added and not planned for. Finding items required such as plates/cutlery was most awkward. Hiding this under a top shelf-Why
Staff and excellent breakfast
The hotel is a wooden structure and you can hear everything
This nice familiar hotel was a particular experience for us. We had booked a room for 2 nights but when we arrived we had to learn that the people that had lived in our room before did not check out so that the room could not be prepared for us. Furthermore, the hotel was completely full so that they had to book us a room in another hotel for 1 night just the other side of the street. The staff was extremely embarrassed and did everything to please us. In the other hotel we got an extra dish with fruits covered with chocolate in addition with a letter from the manager apologising for the situation. The next morning we returned for breakfast and the manager appeared personally to apologise again. All staff was extremely keen on pleasing us whenever possible. They gave us for the second night a room upgrade with a marvolous view on the harbour. When we asked for a recommendation for seafood restaurant they did even a reservation for us (an the dinner was excellent ;-)). Despite this unfortunate situation it was a great stay. The room was clean and very nice. The location is just very central but quite. Everything is reachable in walking distance. Service as mentioned is just great. Parking was included. The breakfast was simple but nevertheless joyful. The second day even the manager did the kitchen service what we have never seen before. Overall, this hotel is definitely recommendable.
Nothing to mention.
provided a seperate toaster for my husband who is gluten intolerant and a selection of gluten free breads room on third floor with great views of harbour and city staff extremely helpful
kitchen facilities limited otherwise no complaints
Convenient location. Parking was appreciated.
Very noisy with outside traffic. Also very noisy with upstairs guests constantly moving around.
Liked location, staff was fine
The place is old and dated. No view , carpet in room seemed dirty, and the furniture was old and not the best quality. This property would be ok but the price that was paid was way to high. I was expecting a lot nicer place.
proximity to downtown
One of the website photos shows it as virtually waterfront, when it is not, (it is on an angled position on a sidestreet. We were tucked away in a basement like room with only a slight peek-a-boo view. The co-joining door to the next suite was very flimsy and we were awakened at midnite by someone attempting to open it. Very poor soundproofing as well. Bathroom was very small and old. Overall we got the impression we had been put in a remodelled storage room. We were only there for the one night, and for the same charge, (total of $148.w/taxes) there are better, newer harbour-facing hotels available.
