University campus location. All staff very friendly & helpful. Clean. Individual a/c control
Bed too firm for comfort (I bring a mattress topper so not a deal-breaker). Please change the coffee in rooms.
Stayed once again at the Alma and enjoyed it.
Staff were really helpful at check-in, special thanks to Jan, who also helped us with a new reservation. Breakfast which was included really good quality.
Room was cold even after adjusting the temp
Location was ideal for my visit, room was surprisingly bigger than i expected
This was exceptionally convenient for a two day conference at the University of Calgary. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was very good - hot and cold items. The room was on the small side but perfectly appointed for the needs of a solo traveler. The free Wi-fi and long distance calls were a welcome bonus.
Fresh, clean and modern look.
Tight room layout results in shins bashing on bed corners.
I loved that a Hotel was actually built right on the University of Calgary campus...made my life much easier. Also, the staff was very accommodating and made special effort to ensure my limited mobility needs were met.
The room was a bit hot and it took me a while to understand how to regulate the temperature to my liking.
Room was very small. Could hear neighbours through the walls.
I really had a great time at Alma.
I actually prefer the smaller rooms when comparing to other hotels.
If I had been given this room as an undergraduate student I would have been overjoyed. The room was neat and updated, which was good. It included the standards - microwave, coffee maker, a small selection of tea and coffee, as well as a bar fridge, etc. We didn't have time for breakfast, so I can't comment on the dining experience.
While overall the hotel room was perfectly serviceable, there were a few small details that the hotel could easily address to improve the experience of guests. Unfortunately, we found hairs in the bedding (likely ones that went through the wash), which was a bit off-putting. The hotel room gets a big thumbs up for being accessible, but the fold-up shower chair showed signs of discoloration, which should be removed with a good cleaning. We also requested an early check-in through Bookings.com and received an email telling us that our request had been sent on to the hotel, but that we should call and confirm. We were leaving for a wedding on a shuttle bus at 3pm, but on phoning the hotel the day before we were told that they could not guarantee a room until 3, which was unfortunate. We ended up getting checked in 10 minutes before 3, which resulted in a round of applause for us when we made it to the bus just in time.
So close and easy to visit my son at school with low pressure.
glass of wine too pricy
Staff were all friendly and polite
Service was great. Staff all friendly and helpful. Bed and bedding comfortable Location great as our daughter is on residence, and we were able to meet up easily. Breakfast included,
Room a bit small. A bit noisy from partying students outside Breakfast could have been better..by including cold cuts or cheeses.
It was really nice to have extra time on checkout that was appreciated as we just finish driving a long way
Bed had hair on it.
All the facilities of the university. We stayed in a dorm room that gets converted in the summer months. I thought the bed was ok but my partner didn't sleep. Internet was blazing fast and parking is a covered lot. Staff was good.
Pool was only open open swim at set times. When I went a lifeguard hadn't shown up so open swim was cancelled. Bed wasn't the most comfortable. Shower leaked a bit but water was hot and good pressure.
The location at the U of C is excellent.
The room was two bedrooms, each with an individual keyed doors. The bathroom was an open shower stall that flooded the bathroom if used. The sitting area described is a common room on the floor not in the room. It took over two hours for them to have coffee for the coffee maker run up to our room. This would not be a bad place to stay for a couple of friends traveling together who only really need somewhere to sleep, but for a family traveling with two small children it was not what we went there expecting. I think the truth about the facility is why they have a no cancelation policy.
I liked everything about this hotel: staff was attentive and effective, site was clean and bright, parking was convenient, food was very good, complimentary breakfast was great - not a single complaint. The best possible hotel if you need to be on U of C site or even just the NW end of Calgary. I look forward to my return stay in January.
I liked the facilities and the location of this hotel.
Staff was friendly and helpful. The location was A+ amazing. The breakfast was quite good and I looked forward to it.
It was really expensive. The price for a room with a single queen bed is more than a night at a fancy hotel with all of the amenities that come with it.
Very noisy, could hear people outside, beds were uncomfortable, ackward layout in 2 bdr apartment.
The rooms were small and the bathroom old and not as clean as hoped. Paying for parking that was about a 10 minute walk from the room was more than a little bit inconvenient. We were just passing through Calgary and thought we'd spend more than usual on a nice hotels. Wasn't what I had hoped and definitely wasn't worth the money.
The location is great for me.
Glad they have the bistro nightly now but they need to vary the menu. It was the same menu as when I was there a month before.
Staff was great.
Bed frame square = bruised legs, small room= dinky ironing board. Inedible dinner. Great staff but no restaurants close. Need rental car. Not a good value.
