Room was very small. Could hear neighbours through the walls.
I really had a great time at Alma.
So close and easy to visit my son at school with low pressure.
glass of wine too pricy
Staff were all friendly and polite
It was really nice to have extra time on checkout that was appreciated as we just finish driving a long way
Bed had hair on it.
I liked the facilities and the location of this hotel.
Staff was friendly and helpful. The location was A+ amazing. The breakfast was quite good and I looked forward to it.
It was really expensive. The price for a room with a single queen bed is more than a night at a fancy hotel with all of the amenities that come with it.
Very noisy, could hear people outside, beds were uncomfortable, ackward layout in 2 bdr apartment.
The rooms were small and the bathroom old and not as clean as hoped. Paying for parking that was about a 10 minute walk from the room was more than a little bit inconvenient. We were just passing through Calgary and thought we'd spend more than usual on a nice hotels. Wasn't what I had hoped and definitely wasn't worth the money.
The location is great for me.
Glad they have the bistro nightly now but they need to vary the menu. It was the same menu as when I was there a month before.
Staff was great.
Bed frame square = bruised legs, small room= dinky ironing board. Inedible dinner. Great staff but no restaurants close. Need rental car. Not a good value.
Staff - friendly and competent Location Free Wifi and calling Breakfast Clean
Wifi not consistent (kept disconnecting)
They provided us with a free room upgrade for our anniversary plus some extras they left in the room for us. Very comfy bed and pillows and super quiet overnight.
Some parts of the room (i.e., the ceiling) appeared unfinished
I love the central location of this hotel. It has a European feel in the heart of campus. Breakfast has excellent options. I would highly recommend this hotel to others.
clean, good staff great for UofC meetings
AC barely worked, Internet stopped working in morning
- single bed rooms too small - bed corners are a hazard - small ironing board - parking lot too far especially in cold weather - no gym - room door is stuck - quite obvious house keeping not reporting it - very shallow sink and very low faucet (very impractical) - very limited food options at the restaurant
they manged to make a new reservation with the same price
I had to wait for almost an hr to finish all the reseravation issues
Location is quiet and pleasant with access to U of C facilities and libraries. Rooms are small and comfortable- European style. Staff are courteous. Breakfast is very nicely served and nutritious.
Location, staff was nice and helpful, ability to use University fitness center
Very small rooms - especially for a family with young children, beds are small and not very comfortable, felt too much like staying in a dorm room
The room was newly renovated, the temperature controls were really nice
The room was a bit expensive for what you got especially when parking was added!
The price, the location was steps away from where I needed to be, how clean the apartment was kept, access to and availability of parking. Did I say I liked the price - discount I had represented true value for a bargain hunter. Don't forget the apartment option is dorm style accommodation!
On-site food fare was excellent quality but limited selections for lunch and dinner left me wanting. Alternatives were also limited. Hotel should consider an order in al a carte directory - to aid those not from Calgary to access alternate menus. I guess I'm fussy but the mattress wasn't to my liking, it sagged throughout the night and I had to "climb" out of bed. I thought to myself it should be replaced with a different kind all together - something stiffer perhaps - but that's me.
A variety of choice for breakfast. Room included fridge and microwave.
Had to pay for parking separately. Parking wasn't close and there were no signs identifying how to get to hotel.
Enjoyed the modern amenities. Having a larger fridge was a plus since we had groceries still from our previous hotel.
Beds were absolutely awful. The bathrooms were extremely small; I always got the shower door on the toilet. The two bedrooms with separate keys was strange. Also housekeeping NEVER provided any garbage bags so we had to get out own. Parking was stupid cause you had to pay per day to park a far distant away.
We enjoyed the two rooms that we had. Our soon loved that the desk in his room would have worked well for studying but even better for building Lego.
I would have loved a couch to curl up on.
