The value for a place to rest overnight was great and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The Inn is dated but you can tell it is in the midst if some upgrading. The room I was in was slightly cool, mainly due to a draft around the seal of the door. And the heater did not appear to be functioning fully.
Can not be priced higher due to the quality
Shared a suite with traveling companions, the suite was well laid out with two separate rooms. Totally enjoyed a home cooked meal in the dinning room followed by a glass of wine in the lounge room. As for sleep and comfort, so peaceful.
The outside looks like a set for a ghost town.
Love the location although a 20 min drive from Golden.
Kitchen had no microwave, no laundry facilities.
Clean and well looked after. The staff (owners?) were lovely people and very accommodating.
I wasn't charged for my small dog, which I was charged at other hotel on my way out... I will reuse this place again and tell my friends, clean and good value for your buck...
Cable was gone at midnight...and still off at 6am!? Coffee machine didn't make a good cup of coffee, but other then that all's good
Cheap functional and good location away from rail tracks
Nothing bad - basic accommodation but what we expected
We had a King sized bed and that was good. Bedding was clean. Convenient location.
Only plastic cups and glasses. No coffee or tea in the stock by coffee maker. The hot tub was broken and didn't look like it would ever be re-built. Very primitive heating. Centrally heated but not working so they had an electric heater on the wall that had to be plugged it. (It was cold at night and you needed the heater.) The A/C was mounted in the wall - an old "window shaker". Bathtub was rusty and needed replacement. Always the black mould around tub and corners of the room needed cleaning.
away from highway pleasant decor good tv good curtains kept out unwanted light.
wifi connection was intermittent would have preferred a firmer mattress
The price was right for a quick stay on the go. A nice airconditioned, comfortable spot to crash after a long, hot day.
In the room we stayed in the air conditioner was quite loud but it worked well which enabled us to cool the room down and turn the AC off before bed.
Good price: $178 plus taxes for two nights. Staff very friendly and helpful. The bed in the "King Room" was very comfortable (double foam). Very little traffic noise.
On arrival, I walked into the bathroom. The was a centipede crawling on the floor. Wifi connection: weak signal, slow and intermittent, loss of connection for long periods. Thin walls, lots of noise coming from other rooms, people talking, toilets flushing, etc. Bed lamp on one side didn't work. Tried swapping bulbs, still didn't work. Wanted to swap lamps, but socket behind the bed was inaccessible. Finally moved the king-size bed to reveal lamp wasn't plugged in. Creaky floor boards. Few wall sockets for charging your phone, camera, iPad, razor, etc. Finally spotted a power bar attached under the desk well out of sight while packing up to leave!
Hmmm, the young lady that booked us in was pleasant. I booked on very short notice & got a room! - not easy to do mid Aug.
The place is quite run down & very dirty! the hide a bed/couch in the seating/TV area was covered with a dirty, stained, sheet, you'd want a hazmat suit on to watch TV! The kitchen was filthy, even the utensils were mismatched & greasy. There seemed to be major wiring problems in the bedroom, the light switches don't work! Instead, the 20 yr old halogen floor lamp is always on, but controlled by an ancient foot controlled dimmer. We were happy to not die in an electrical fire, or pick up any bed bugs! Sorry alpine inn, but you obviously don't give a damn anyway.
Linen could be upgraded.
service, cleanliness, comfort every thing was good. I will recommend this to every one.
Staff very conscientious Extremely clean and comfortable Quiet (but in off season) Close to supermarket
Some furnishings a little worn
the beds were horrible. A thin mattress on top of another mattress. No box spring. The bed spread on one bed was filthy and the bathroom was very outdated.
indoor hot tub close to Highway 1 but far enough so you do not hear the traffic
small fridge the neighbor has a water feature that can be noisy overnight if you decide to keep bathroom window open
Bed bugs! My sister sat on the sofa and soon she start feeling itchy all over. She had red bumps starts to appear on her cheeks. We didn't use the bed sheet they provided because it doesn't smell like it has been sanitized. For the cost of 189 + tax, we stayed at another hotel in Banff which is much better! The same cost 189 + tax, the hotel in Banff is like heaven. We will never go back to this hotel.
Not much to like.
The facility was old and not very clean. We found 2 creepy bugs, one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom tub. It did not smell clean and needed some major updating and renovating. The beds were very hard and felt like you were sleeping on a board and we like hard beds, but these we ridiculous.
Location Ac and kitchen
Washroom has no forced vent.
Bathroom is renovated and modern. Good lighting and large, clean shower.
The mini fridge did not work at all and obviously hadn't for some time. Just take it out and don't pretend there is a fridge
Quiet and comfortable in good location.
Wifi signal was weak and did not work too well.
the location was great.
the bedding could be upgraded
Quite clean Good value Staff were welcoming.
Musty smell in the room. All motel/hotel rooms should have a washable cover on the top quilt. Bath tub is grungy.
There were plenty of beds for the five of us
The room we had wouldn't connect to the wifi.
