Lynn was wonderful. She made us a delicious and filling breakfast every morning, was always pleasant and friendly, and was available to meet each of us when we arrived. The Victorian room was very comfortable -- the beds themselves and just the overall environment. The location is very central, very close to but not in the Old City, and a few blocks away from the "action" of St. Catherine Street and St. Denis Street.
The Victorian room says there is a bath ensuite, which sounds like there is a full bath in the room. In reality, it is a clawfoot tub with a shower, along with a sink and mirror. The toilet available for this room is just down the hall, so not a big deal; just would have been nice to know that in advance.
Great hostess, superb breakfast, perfect location to see old and new Montreal, and the Royale room was fabulous. Free parking with prior coordination was excellent. Thank you!!!
The Beach room has a private bathroom, but it is separate and across the hall. Not bad though.
We were charged 200$ more for booking online...a 129$ was 169$ a night plus higher taxes....we were given a rate online then on the last morning the owner tells us she is charging us the 15% that she pays you for the service...789$ for 4 nights...this erased whatever good experiences we had..I would like someone from Booking.com to contact me
The location is ideal right next to Old Montreal, the space is beautiful, clean and comfortable, but the best part is the staff. Lyne is lovely and a fantastic cook. She takes care of her guests with so much love. Next time I'm in Montreal, this is the only place I'll stay.
The hospitality, cleanliness ,and service. The location was good. And the price was right which included breakfast
The bathroom was not located within the bedroom. And there wasn't a closet for hanging clothes. Had to live out of suitcase
Delicious breakfast Excellent location for walking and catching metro Lyn fun to talk with
The staff was wonderful, the rooms comfortable and the breakfast filled us up for the day.
For many of the rooms, you had your own private bathroom, but it was outside of the room. That being said, the bathrooms and the rooms were clean and lovely.
Breakfast was great, service/staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though we slept late, the staff saved us some food and coffee. The Mexican room faced the street (and a police station) but was still very quiet and dark/cool in the morning so we were able to sleep-in. Free parking (that we had arranged with the bnb earlier) was excellent. Location was fantastic. We actually walked home from Jean Drapeau park (took about an hour including crossing the bridge), about a 10 minute walk to old montreal, 15 minute walk to prince arthur/st.laurent for dinner.
We stayed in the Mexican room. The bathroom was not in the room, which I did not like; however, we did have a key to the bathroom to ensure that it was not used by other guests, which was the saving grace.
Location was good-we walked everywhere! Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. Owner served us herself: coffee, juice, yogurt, pastries, hot main course, homemade jelly. She packed us a "to-go" breakfast one morning. Owner was very personable and accommodating. She let us store our baggage before we could check in so we could get on with our sight-seeing. We rented 2 rooms, (The Beach and The Mexican) both had private bathrooms across the halls. The Beach had an extra twin bed for a child. The Beach bathroom had complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. Robes were provided for both bathrooms. They do accept Visa, although I thought booking.com said they only take cad.
Rooms and bathrooms were a bit small but not really a problem for us.
Hostess was amazing Breakfast Incredible Call ahead and got free parking
Bathroom down the hall.
Lynn was an excellent hoste. She did her best to accommodate each need. Great conversation around breakfast each morning. Her house is charming and unique. Quiet, clean, and very comfortable. Great location for old town as well as near to shops and restaurants. I hope to stay there again!
Montreal is huge! I would have liked to stay longer. Also, TV reception was poor. But that is not why we go on vacation is it...
Old house, service , food price. 10 minute walk to Palais des Congres
Not the nicest area in Montreal, close to some seedy streets and a fair bit of noise at night.
I arrived to Montreal to work, and the previous week I had been in Tokio and London, also for work reasons. So, I was extremely tired, with an awful jet-lag and only looking for the end of my trip. But to stay at Angelica B&B changed my mood. It is a beautiful old house, fully refurbished and cozy. It feels more like being at your granny home than at a B&B. My room was really nice, confortable and with a balcony. And then, in the morning you have the best breakfast you can imagine. Much better than the ones at the five stars hotel were I was in Tokio or London. Perfect coffee, fresh fruit and homemade food (muffins, cakes, bagels, omeletes...). And great conversation with the owner and the other clients in an small living room with wooden floors and a flowery terrace. Honest, my trip to Montreal was much better because of staying at this B&B. I know it sounds like an exageration, but it is not. I will surely chose this place again and, as someone that has to travel a lot for work reasons, I recomend it with no doubts to any traveller.
Very friendly, excellent breakfast.
Bed, pillows and sheets not comfortable. Thought it was pricey.
Friendly hostess tried hard to please
Very small room with small hot bathroom down the hall; bedding very worn; thin walls; breakfast too heavy and served unprofessionally
Very large breakfast
Very noisy on the first floor where my room was because of the breakfast (making & serving). So no place to sleep in
the location is great particularly if you plan to go all over the city. you are a perfect vantage point to most central neighborhoods.
i would recommend asking for an upstairs room. the smaller downstairs room doesn't have AC which would be an issue in summer, but it is also quite noisy as it is by the kitchen and you have to walk past the kitchen to the bathroom, which can be odd in the am. the upstairs room seems much more traditional B&B privacy
breakfast was basically the same both days.
The owner and her staff were quite accommodating to your individual needs; made you feel quite at home
Though free parking was arranged in my case, it is limited but can be negotiated on individual case basis.
Friendly, helpful hostess; easy walk (1/2 mile or so) to the jazz festival but could barely hear the music when we got back to the room.
This place is a treasure in the heart of MTL! Perfect location, cosy ambience, beautiful rooms, delicious breakfast and the staff makes you feel like part of the family !
Fabulous location, host and breakfast
Really nice abd supportive host, breakfadst which changes every day was delicious, they give you a doggy bag, if you could not eat all the stuff. 10 to 15 minutes to the vieux port and all the restaurant of vieux Montreal.
Breakfast was amazing, the staff was very friendly. The location was great and access to Old Montreal was super easy. I'd definitely stay there again
Rooms were a little small and the bathroom wasn't attached to the room, but it wasn't really a big deal
