Score from 27 reviews Very good
Dinner the first night [Sept 14th] was good.
Main dining area not a cozy atmosphere, waiter falsely pleasant, and entire room very warm, with sun shining on windows at dinnertime. Lunch the next day was terrible.....lukewarm clam chowder, very little clam flavour, and portion [bowl] very small. Ceasar salad was "limp', with cold bits of bacon, and no pepper and very little dressing. We were hungry, so ate it, but didn't return to the restaurant the rest of our stay.
Spacious room with view over the water; service and food in the restaurant; helpful and friendly staff; wildlife boat trip; wonderful setting with view of bald eagle from the bedroom and a harbour seal from the dining room; access to facilities at Painter's Lodge
Fitness facilities at Painter's Lodge - no exercise bike and equipment in need of attention
Gorgeous location and surroundings, very natural but neat and tidy as well. Room very spacious.
Room 202 could use some updating. Was a hot night, but portable fan too noisy to run at night. Please spring for quieter fans since no AC. Need a wall mirror, pref full length. Hotel rooms always need a wall mirror in the room for the ladies and as a secondary mirror to the bathroom so more than one person can get ready at a time.
The location mostly, with its views across to Vancouver Island, our accommodation was excellent. Restaurant food and service much better than expected this time (we have used it several times outside the summer vacation season with mixed results!)
There was nothing to dislike on this our first 2 night stay at an offer price mid-season
A nice place with great views of the Alaskan cruise boats in evenining. Dinner was good at reasonable price.
Staff were extremely helpful and I would certainly return
We had supper and breakfast at the restaurant and it was great. The view was amazing! That is what to come here for and it is worth it.
Our room was small and the wi-fi didn't work while in our room. The shower head was more of a spray that you never felt clean and there is a smell of sulfur in the water. You could hear everything outside and people walk around.
May need some upgrading, but the price compensated for that
If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel resort, directly on the water, with a free water taxi shuttle service to their sister resort across the channel (where you can enjoy a pub and different restaurant), this is the place
no handrails on outside steps
I liked the people and the surroundingds
The location is wonderful, the rooms are simple, unpretentious, every room right over the water, with a deck for early morning coffee and sunset. Staff were friendly, welcoming, helpful. The spa is excellent - pedicures outside on the veranda watching the humpbacks. bliss!
The setting and grounds were stunning. We had a one bedroom suite which was excellent -spacious, comfortable and well equipped.
We had dinner one evening with a group of friends. This was the only flaw in an otherwise brilliant trip. After waiting an age for the main courses, 3 out of 5 were I edible and the 4th was cold. A complete disaster on the part of the chef, but was handled very well by our waitress.
We loved the helpful and friendly staff. The views are majestic and lots to do around the area.
The rooms were quite dated, especially the very old, and small CRT tv's. The bathrooms could also use some renovation.
The accommodation was excellent; spacious and clean, with wonderful views.
The restaurant - poor quality, especially in relation to the pricing. (Although breakfasts were good). Much better food at Herriot Bay hotel!
The Sunset Cruise was great.
The location on Discovery Passage, Quadra Island is exceptional -- for sunrise mist and sunset glow. The resort has a wilderness charm, combined with modern conveniences.
The restaurant service was extremely slow and the menu very pricey. There are better places to eat on Quadra.
Beautiful location overlooking the water ,a cottage like atmosphere.Very friendly courteous welcoming staff.Great fishing experiences with great guides and very pleasant dock crew.I love that there is provisions for dog family members.
Restaurant food at April Point resort restaurant mediocre to poor.Food presentation lacks eye appeal, flavour, unimaginative selections frequently served cold.Restaurant could use sprucing up. .
