For the price I was expecting a better breakfast. Also, in the evening it would be nice to have coffee, juice, cookies etc. available. It's the little touches that go a long way. No setting room outside your bedroom to relax. The price needs a big adjustment. Our add more touches! Better breakfast!
Ease of entry and exit Lovely setting but close to everything Great breakfast
The location was great and our breakfast was superb.
No TV!!! Unless you're a drinker, the stores pretty much shut down after 6. The walls were too thin to do anything romantic and without a tv there wasn't much to do but go to sleep!
We had a great time at the Argus House. Breakfasts were fabulous and our rooms clean, attractive and comfortable. We would definitely stay at Argus House again and in fact hope to do so next year.
- the password on the main entrance to enter. - the bedroom was a fair size - there was little noise from the street at night. - we had an ensuite washroom - parking was convenient
- The outside appeared unkempt. - The owner initial greeting was less than welcoming. - The owner explained an encounter of a sexual nature he had with another female during a Tim's commercial from many yrs ago to three females who were at the morning breakfast that found it to be very offensive. In fact they all immediately got up from the table and left.
When we returned to Argus House for the night we had a very difficult time finding the place as there were no lights to find where it was and the number of the place wasn't visible. We had to drive up and down the street to find it in the darkness.
Cleanliness Breakfast Owner was interesting when present bathroom seating in bedroom
no t.v., no radio, no phone.clock in room or on site no common room to meet other guests no coffee\ tea or hot beverages available in dining area
Very nice owner, nice breakfast, good location, was willing to accept a one night stay, fair price
No TV. No WiFi No living room or place to sit and relax with our companions except for chairs outside, Needs a woman's touch you can tell it is run by a single man
Clean room, great breakfast
Would have liked another chair in our room.
location to town and Niagara Falls, quiet, on site parking, good breakfast.
no ammenities: ie no coffee before breakfast. owner not available except during breakfast.
Had the best breakfast ever at Argus!
Nothing, it was so neat!
Location. The house was nice and breakfast delicious. Enjoyed the company of the other guests. Jim had valid points about no TV or clock radios. Perhaps a common sitting area would be a welcome addition.
No one to greet us when we first arrived, although the instructions to get in were good. Didn't meet the proprietor until breakfast next day.We arrived late evening after theater & there was no exterior lighting to enter the very dark driveway & path to the house. Should be improved.
Lovely breakfast, matched the description perfectly.
No tv in room or coffee to enjoy at leisure. Could hear other guests in their rooms.
We never got there...the owner didn't book us in and forgot to tell us..I already spoke to Booking.com...I am not a very happy person right now....don't even get me started...you have the cheek to ask me to rate the place...when I havnt even been there..
No tv, no coffee,no hair dryer, no iron and ants in the bathroom, noisy floors
-walking distance from downtown -nice shower -nice comforter
-windows nailed shut -Jim didn't read my booking request for 7 am coffee, and seemed peeved when I had to ask him in person -dust bunnies
Close to the main street and attractions. Within walking distance to restaurants and lake front. Clean , comfortable room.
No TV available
Breakfast excellent. A good bed, a good breakfast, but not a place to hang out...because you're in NOTL to do and see the sights, theater, gardens, shops and wineries.
The host was very friendly and easy to get to know. He was very helpful in his suggestions for biking in the area. The breakfast of fruit and waffles was enjoyed by us as we shared conversation around a large dining table with the other guests. Good off street parking and an easy walk to the theatres and downtown restaurants.
Very modest room.... Clean but lacked the charm that most of NOTL has.
Jim was a great host. He was very informative on the surrounding area and his breakfasts were phenomenal.
Comfortable rooms with ensuites, nice quiet street, good breakfasts, friendly owner.
Noisy air conditioning system
Location was good short walk to town. The host was very nice when you saw him.
We had a downstairs room when people came in and out you heard every movement we liked the hardwood floors as they are very clean but kept us awake when anyone moved. No choice for breakfast was given a cooked breakfast and watermelon if you like that it's great an offer of toast would have been nice. Talked to others staying elsewhere and they had choices. Our first B & B will go back to hotels next time.
The property was great and the accomodations were nice, clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfasts and conversations in the morning were lovely.
I would have liked to have two comfortable chairs for reading or having a glass of wine in the room.
