Obviously pets had been in the room & had an accident or several. The smell was quite overpowering. The carpet was filthy. Nice spot but would not return.
Excellent staff ! Very helpful & kind
A little tired looking
Perfect way to spend few days in resort.
They do not have elevator so if you are carrying luggage like we did, be prepared to either carry it by hand or use caddy and change it once on 3rd floor. Staff was not polite and I had to ask all about facility instead of they telling me about what is available and what is not.
Had one of the Chalets. Beautiful view, clean and spacious!
Made reservations at main dining room and had to wait an extra 15 min...not great with kids.
One of my friends fell on her bicycle and the staff were so good to her. They took her to a dentist and really took care of her. It was much appreciated!
I had some difficulty getting a confirmation for the rooms for my froup
the two pools, the play structure, that they provided the supplies for the campfire.
no fridge and microwave in the room.
great location, views
Location was great. Very nice grounds. Good value for the price.
Our key did not work in the exterior door to the lower parking lot. Front door of hotel was not locked/secured at night.
Self laundry facilities available.
- Location - Facilities There are lots of things to do so I would recommend at least 2 nights
The swimming area and exercise room were nice. The location was good. The price was good as well.
- Staff leaving their dog in their car while they were working. The dogs would bark and we were located in Room #274 and the spa parking lot was just outside. - Staff would go outside of Exit #3 to smoke, speak loudly and this at 06h30 in the morning - people are still attempting to sleep at that hour! - Staff did not ask us 'How did you enjoy your stay?" when we checked out, I had to ask for a comment car.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was great.
The staff were exceptionally nice and friendly.
The room was cold for us. They sent a repair man right away, he was there fast. But he couldn't make the heater put out any heat.
Beds were awesome and bedding was beautiful. Front desk staff very welcoming and helpful.
One particular staff that wasn't a front desk staff tried to ignore us when we were trying to get her attention but when she did respond was helpful. Found the noise level in our room loud. Could hear people loudly up and down the stairs. Not sure what was above us but a lot of banging until late at night, then again early in the morning.
The entertainment was great as was the room setup with large round tables which allowed you to meet and talk to many other people.
That we didn't want a large meal so opted not to eat in the Dining Room, and take advantage of the limited menu which was listed on-line, however learned that this was not available. A seafood buffet was the only thing available in the Lounge area. When we checked in we were told that we could always change our mind for Dining Room reservations & we specified that we had 2 tickets for special entertainment. When we called to try to get these reservations, we could not be accommodated because of the overlap in time for the entertainment. We ended up getting a take-out order fr a little restaurant down the road which ended up being a very good choice, as did many other guests of the hotel for the same reason.
My boyfriend and I went to Oak Island for his surprise birthday. I requested chocolate covered strawberries and champagne when we arrived which was absolutely marvelous. The grounds and the pool are very nice and the restaurant was lovely with prompt and friendly service. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will return when the warmer weather arrives.
the smell of disinfectant was strong particularly around 9pm. maybe we were staying in the pet friendly area but it was a real turnoff for me. Too bad..all was good otherwise
The entire stay from the front desk staff to everyone we came in contact with were fabulous. Would positively recommend this inn to everyone
I can not come up with a single thing that I dod not like
Pillows on bed were terrible , bed was too hard for me , woke up both mornings with sore back ! Dinning room/food was less than I expected . Also thought coffee in fireside lounge should have been complimentry for guests not $4 .65 for 2 small coffees
Our room; but that was our fault for not getting a better one. We saw the others' and they were very nice!
The location was very picturesque-Staff were very helpful & efficient in setting up for a wedding.
In short: just beautiful. The Hotel itself, location, area, view, all are magnificent. Super beds, super restaurant, super service, friendly... You feel at home!
The room carpeting needs cleaning... that's about it.
Reasonable, good location.
Dated - in need of renovation and repair.
Setting is beautiful. Parking adequate
Road sign doesn't clearly identify it as Oak Island Inn. Also not easy to spot at night. Room was clean but obviously old and tired. No fridge
Great location for what we were doing.
Beds were far too small as was bathroom. Asked for Queen bed and they said very few only doubles. Restaurant was very slow and food was okay. Only ate dinner there.
