The B&B is located alongside and thereby overlooking the St Lawrence River. The house is in a cul de sac so it is quiet and peaceful with almost no traffic. The owner allows you to use his terrace where you can sit and watch the birds and river traffic. The one room that is there is perfectly comfortable and you can expect "to die for" breakfasts which are generous and tasty.
Because the house is small some guests might feel they are encroaching on the owners personal space. But if you're friendly and preferably speak French, you shouldn't have a problem.
Breakfasts are works of art. Location is at end of road, beginning of a river walking trail. Ships pass down the St Lawrence Seaway right in front of the bedroom window. Peaceful location, but not far at all from Québec center.
The spiral staircase leading to the upstairs room may be difficult for some people.
Michel is great. The location could not be better, right on the water and adjacent to a wonderful walking path. Very tasty and creative breakfasts.
It was fine for us, but access to the room is up a very narrow spiral staircase. Michel will help carry any luggage, but it's not for feeble knees.
Michel was so helpful and thoughtful. We went straight to sleep when we first arrived he didn't bother us one bit, then after our nap pulled out a city map and gave us a tour of the city on paper along with a wonderful selection of his favourite restaurants. The view was breathtaking and the cul-de-sac it's on is so quiet and unique.
I loved everything. The breakfast was fantastic, Michel was very knowledgeable. I would recommend his B&B to anyone
We liked everything, we loved it! Our stay was amazing. Michel is the perfect host, he prepared our breakfast, and even have breakfast with us every morning! We couold even see the sunrise from our room over the river. Michel saved us precious time with his recommendations and directions to move around the city and the surroundings. What else can I say?
There was nothing we didn't like. Everything is provided to make your stay memorable and Michel gives his guests all his attention.
MIchele is the best host ever. He takes the time to help ensure you make the most of your visit. Just a great person (he may even sing for you) and his only room (book early!) is really comfortable.
In this case, silly question.
Michel is a very nice host. His suggestion was far better than any travel guide. The room was so comfortable, and his breakfast was wonderful. I loved the time having breakfast with him over the beautiful view of the river.
Loved the breakfasts and the host Michel was very friendly and considerate. Views from bedroom excellent of the St lawrence river
Michel is an outstanding host, so eager to please. He is a great tourist guide passionate about his home and his city. He even made a booking for us to have lunch in the Parliament House dining room. His breakfasts were great and he sat down with us to talk about our day. French is his first language but he converses well in English. He also has a beautiful singing voice and serenaded us after dinner one night.
Absolutely no complaints but some may need to be aware that the room is accessed by a very steep circular stairway. Keep your luggage to a minimum and Michel will give a hand getting your case up the stairs
Au bord du fleuve must be the best B&B in Canada. The hospitality of our host Michel was absolutely one of a kind. Michel made us feel like home from minute one, being warm and friendly and providing us lots of tips and information about Quebec City. What a wonderfull man he is. Michel served us an excellent breakfast at his beautiful terrace looking out over the river. What a view we had from our fantastic room. Bathroom and bed were also great.. We will never forget our stay in Au bord du fleuve. PERFECT!! Tip: Don't close the blinds at the riverside, there might be a chance you'll miss a stunning sunrise.
You will hardly find annother place with such a marvelous view from your room to the river, and the welcome was so warm! We got a lot of information which made it very easy to get to the most interesting sites of Quebec, which was more helpful than any travel guide. Although situated suburban, you will be downtown by car in a few minutes. Nearby everything can be found what you could need.
We loved the location on the river and our room with the view. Breakfasts are gourmet delicious and personalized. The owner is very kind and made us feel truly at home away from home. It is a close drive to the city. There is the best gourmet burger restaurant in walking distance from the B&B. The price is great for what we got. We would give it a 10 out of 10.
There was nothing we did not like.
Quite, Nice and very good location. The Owner is a very special man, very good sense of humor, and friendly counselor.
Location is right by the river and fabulous. room is large and comfortable and from your bed you have great views over the river. The host is just wonderful and the breakfasts delicious. cap rouge is also a cute place to be
Nothing, we loved it, but just be aware that it is not in the city but an 18 minute drive
