There are no staff! Just clues to the operation of the hotel as if you're on a scavenger hunt
The room was beautiful with a great view of the port. The king size 4 poster bed was a nice touch. The owners are very nice and helpful. Excellent starting place to explore old Montreal.
Not so much "didn't like" but just a heads up: there are no dining facilities but the room has a stocked mini bar fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The room we were in is huge with a sitting area. The bathroom had a privacy wall but no door, which some might find a bit odd.
Spacious room, good location
Room was a little chilly during the day, warmed up at night however. It was very cold outside while we were there to be fair!
We stayed 5 days in 2 rooms -- 101 (queen) and 202 (king suite). Both were great rooms, amazingly beautiful and large. What a great value! Though beautiful,101 is a bit dark and doesn't have great sound insulation -- we had some loud guests above us stomping around and needed to use earplugs. We upgraded to 202, which was much brighter, had a nice view of the river, and most importantly, is the room where Leonard Cohen wrote his song Suzanne. The auberge even has a guitar for guests to use, so I learned to play Suzanne in the room it was written, what an experience! 202 also has a jacuzzi bathtub, which was so nice to retreat to from the cold. The hotel was excellently situated in Old Montreal, easy walking distance from public transportation. The owners were very friendly as well. It was overall a wonderful experience!
Staff was very gracious and helpful. We really felt like we were being welcomed into someone's home. They were eager to make sure that all our needs were met. The room was very attractively laid out and had lots of charm in keeping with its location in the Old Port area. Everything, including the Metro, was withing easy walking distance. We will definitely stay here the next time we come to Montreal.
Room was really spacious Bathroom was excellent with a very large bathtub Comfortable for 5 people Excellent location in old Montreal
The parking suggested was far from the hotel during the winter We stayed in the 3rd floor, which had a lot of stairs to climb It was also full of snow in the front of the hotel making it difficult to move our luggage
Central location. Very large room with kitchenette. Staff was bilingual, helpful and friendly.
The hotel access
The room looked exactly like the picture on the internet. Location was perfect to walk everywhere. You should go and stay....
I have no complaints
Great location in the heart of old Montreal. Very nice staff. Charming large room.
Squeaky bed. No tissues in the bathroom.
Great space and location Use if umbrellas Quaint
Stairs No thermostat
We loved the tub and the size of the bed. It was easy to sleep in those sheets and the room was comfortable, heat wise. We also enjoyed the couch seating area. I hope other people stay here and enjoy it as much as we did. The location is great and we could walk everywhere even in the cold!
We wish the fridge wasn't already stocked because we bought out own water and fruit.
Easy self-checkin, wonderful spacious rooms, great location in the old city
Bed creaked a bit but not enough to be annoying
Excellent place, excellent services, nice people and wonderful trip!
Too bad you don't have an elevator. Otherwise, great place.
Location, room size, cleanliness,
No reception, did not get code necessary to enter building
The location was amazing. The room was bigger than a standard hotel room. It had history and charm.
Not the hotel's fault, but we had a rowdy group of girls next door that stumbled in around 2:30am, keeping us up for about an hour.
Place was located at the heart of old Montreal, a walking distance from Notre Dame and its facing the Science Centre. Place is charming and the space they give you is incredible, a full kitchen, seating area, breakfast nuke, beautiful windows facing the water, a bathroom that has a jacuzzi, standalone shower, and again a massive floor to ceiling window facing the water. I was truly shocked at what I got for what I paid. I was sketched at first because it was so cheap but the reviews were amazing and consistent so I tried it and I honestly plan on staying here from now on.
The lack of parking lot so you have to find ome in the area but they are cheaper than what I paid for in a hotel.
Very cozy accommodations. Excellent location close to many tourist attractions, shops and good restaurants. While the hotel does not have parking area it is just a short distance from covered parking area which is of a reasonable price. Pleasant and very helpful staff.
Does not have receptionist 24 hrs a day.
The location was perfect for us. It was our first trip to Montreal and this provided walking access to many things we wanted to do and easy access to the metro. The old port was charming and picturesque. We even went ice skating outside just a few blocks from the hotel!!
The room was fantastic, water view, lots of space, large windows, comfy bed and furniture. Bathroom was huge with big tub. The hotel near many fantastic restaurants. Not to far from the metro so using the subway, we could travel around the city.
No kitchenette No breakfast
I had taken the executive queen suite , the place doesnt have elevators, but wasnt a big deal, it was exceptional in terms of the location , facilities and room space .. Cleanliness ..and the view of old Montreal outside .. It was more Like a home than a hotel .. I would recommend it to everybody especially families ... Go for it..!!!
Parking was distant & expensive
Huge room, nice staff & good location
Bed was like a rock and no lift, had to hike suitcases up to 3rd floor
