noise from the street
Not much. We were on the third floor, which we are young...but come on! Three flights for that price?
The room was cheap. The bed uncomfortable. And there was hair in the bathroom! Plus the neighborhood was hopping at night but the noise level was more than I could stand on the street at around 3am, both nights.
A nice friendly and warm place.Like your own little appartement in the city
excellent location, near subway excellent staff very quiet in spite of being right on the corner of a very busy street. clean wifi
not much atmosphere room and bathroom a bit small only decaf in the room, but the staff gave us a bag of real coffee
The only window in my room looked out into a very small ventilation shaft! No wonder the curtains were drawn when I arrived!
Central location for the shops and clubs in a trendy neighbourhood. Great for adults.Private.
The location is superb.
The first item to note is that this hotel has NO lift ... it probably said this in the fine print. Secondly, there is no lobby just a reception desk. The rooms do not have comfortable chairs so you really have no place to sit comfortably. The rooms are very small. Our section only had central a/c in the hall - nothing in the room. Breakfast could be improved - one choice of cereal, muffins, croissants, juice, t and c, plus hard boiled eggs. Toast would have been nice or something else warm. Perhaps cheese and meat. It was only talking with another guest that we learned of the hot tub on the fourth floor. Some staff were very pleasant others were abrasive.
Loved the location, the room was spectacular, beds were comfortable, very clean. I took a bunc of their cards to recommend to friends. Bravo
The location was perfect and the patio on the roof was very nice. Also, the restaurant served delicious food at a good price.
The trips up and down the stairs to the third floor.
I like the location, the fact that breakfast was included and the rooms were cosy and comfortable.
I would suggest to make the rooms even more inviting would be to add some artwork or mirros on the walls. The room feels bear without this.
Good location, great service, friendly bi-lingual staff, excellent room. Couldn't have asked for more.
Friendly, helpful staff and great location near the metro station and lots of restaurants and bars.
No lift, but fortunately I was on the second floor.
The staff was helpful. The location was Good. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a lovely rooftop deck where we ate breakfast. Parking was affordable. Free breakfast was convenient.
There is no elevator so we had to walk up several flights of stairs with our luggage.
Unclean room, disturbing fridge making 15 minutes noise every hour, waking you every hour, poor pre-fab breakfast limiting what you can eat (and I am a small eater), saying "1 croissant, 1 yoghurt, ...).
Friendly and helpful staff.
3 floors of stairs
Breakfast was great. It was nice to be able to meet so many other travelers and hear what they were up to. The location was also good — just a few blocks from some great bars and restaurants.
After looking for hours we finally found an opening very late (10PM) possibly because there had been a cancellation. We were unable to check in until after midnight, which seemed to upset the host and made our stay awkward. It would be good if the hosts added some kind of time limit for same-night check-ins in order to prevent other travelers from having a similar experience.
I liked the jacozi in the roof top with loud music and also how everything is around you, no need for transportations and finally the room was big enough to fit 3 people
I hated how we have to check in at 3pm even if you come early, and how you hve to pay extra for guess per night, and how every time you want to go to the jacuzzi you hve go to recipient for a key, and they close it at 9pm
Good location, close to variety of restaurants and to Metro station. Fresh fruit salat in the morning and another fruits.
The rooms oriented to the street are noisy, but have a nice view.
Easy access to many great shops, restaurants and pubs/bars. Rooftop hot tub and in room jacuzzi
Parking is kind of a pain
Location is very useful for being in doen town of Montreal , 100 meter to subway station and full of eating facility , enough ithemes in breakfast .
The building of Hotel is too old and inside decoration is out . Near my room was huge sound of disel engine motor and it bothered me.
No elevator. And this wasn't made clear in the hotel's description. Our room had only one window and that was onto a narrow air shaft. Breakfast was fine at the beginning of the week, but they must have bought all of their croissants and muffins on Monday and then not replenished them. They got increasingly mushy and stale as the week went on. Tables were not cleared and cleaned.
The Auberge is fantastic--all of our favourite shops and restaurants are just steps away, as is the Metro. We loved oour balcony as well. Perfection--we will be going back
My partner and I were extremely pleased with the hotel. We arrived very late at night, around 2 am. The hotel doesn't look like much at all from the street but it is very quaint and modern looking inside. The concierge surprised us by offering to upgrade us to a loft room as opposed to the regular economy room. The loft room turned out to be essentially a bachelor apartment equipped with a kitchenette and back patio. It was amazing. Very affordable and excellent location. We will only be staying here when we visit Montreal in the future.
Great location, close to lively St. Laurent, great cafes, restaurants, and bars, and metro station--all within walking distance. We went to other neighborhoods and just kept coming back to this one--very cool vibe to it. Service was great and everyone was friendly.
Our room had a window that looked out into a brick shaft. There was no sunlight whatsoever. You'll never know what time of day it is. I would ask for a room facing St Denis. Also, the carpets in the hall are overdue for a cleaning.
Everything e.g. fabulously comfortable bed, great shower, great location for city centre and airport bus, mini kitchen, nice check in staff. Fab creperie next door.
