Lovely place with a perfect location in the old city. Great for just walking around and exploring. The staff were excellent. Rooms were perfect. WiFi was super fast. Breakfast was great value.
No kettle with tea or coffee facilities in room.
excellent service especially in the retaurant and bar ,very good value for money, they really made you fell welcome!
all was great !
Location. Quiet safe area at night. There's a nice restaurant downstairs so whenever we felt treating ourselves it is accessible anytime at night. Taxi stand across the street. Ask for rooms in front of the bldg for view.
no elevator...my friend & I both have knee issues, but there's an older guest who offered to bring down our luggages. You have to ask receptionist for assistance otherwise she have nothing to do with bringing down luggage. kind of expensive for out of season stay.
Clean room, great location, quick access to all areas in Old Quebec, quaint old world charm, staff was very helpful (in English and in French)
The staff was lovely, especially the lady who checked us in. Room 29 had a great view, and the restaurant was excellent. Can say enough good about this inn.
Friendly staff always helpful. Good location in the middle of old part of the city. Well refurnished room with good design shower room. Enjoyed the stay very mcuh.
Location was great - very central. Great restaurant for breakfast too.
An elevator would have been good as we had heavy suitcases (but realistically with a small hotel this is understandable).
Location is perfect! Next door to Tourist information and all the tour buses pick up point just across from small park. Just across from Frontenac but a lot less costly! Of course it is an older hotel but comfortable with friendly staff and a fantastic restaurant beneath it. There are stairs to climb to get to reception but they are very happy to bring your luggage up for you (and down again). Handy to everything and we would stay there again in a heart beat! English of course is spoken as it is everywhere in Quebec City!
The breakfast that was included in our room rate was outstanding. It is served in the adjoing restaurant on the ground floor of the Auberge. The food was absolutely delicious, showcasing the French Canadian cuisine. Included juice and hot beverage, as well!
The rooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building and it has no elevator. For those with smaller or light-weight luggage that's not a problem but for those traveling with multiple and/or heavy bags be prepared for a workout.
Perfect location for exploring Quebec City. No car necessary, everything within walking distance. Very clean with excellent spacious en suite bathroom
Loved the quiet room and great shower
The 1604 Restaurant was good value for breakfast with the room. A charming place to stay. Close to the information centre and within walking distance to all the shops and places of interest.
If you arrive by plane it is about a $40 cab fare there is no elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs but I guess elevators were not invented in the 17 century.
Location and very helpful and friendly staff.
Loved the location in the heart of the old city. The staff were most helpful with luggage and information about their city. And of course the 1640 restaurant on the street level was convenient with a great breakfast at a reasonable price.
The building is heritage but did not have furnishings to reflect the wonderful history of inn. Also having an elevator would have made it easier to navigate for a visitor with a disability.
I liked the location and the old charm.
the room was cold and the bed very hard.
Room is large and comfortable. Hotel staff is very helpful.
The hotel is perfectly located and all of the " must see" city sites are within walking distance.
Our room was on the top floor in the back. It was very difficult to get our luggage up 3 flights of winding stairs. We had an ugly roof for the " view" we'd requested months earlier. The room was old and showed lots of wear and tear, but we weren't in it much. We enjoyed walking around the city and got a good night's sleep. Would stay there again because of the location.
Been moved from one room to another and cleanlinesso
The location is excellent, just a few steps from old Québec
The room, the number 17, is very noisy, since it is located over the hotel's restaurant. Saturday morning I was woke up by the very loud music they started to play around 8:30 am and finished later than 1:00 am on Sunday. Unbearable!!!! :-( :-( The hotel doesn't have elevator, so if you travel with seniors, that can be hard.
Location Location Location! This hotel is directly across the square from Hotel de Frontenac and steps away from the Tourism Office and the stairway to the Lower City. It was so convenient to walk from the hotel anywhere. We liked that our room faced the square because we could people watch and see what was going on all the time. The staff at the desk was friendly.
Didn't like that our room was not cleaned consistently and that the rug was not vacuumed every day. Didn't like that although we asked a few times for blown light bulbs to be replaced, they weren't. Didn't like that the beverage machine was sold out of water the entire 5 days we were there.
the staff were very good
the hotel needs a freshen up as it is looking a little tired
Good breakfast menu .
Check standard room. Booking Variable .
Great location! Very clean; great shower.
Wi-Fi was iffy at times. Air in room did not work properly and staff on duty was not helpful in resolving issue.
It is in a great location that is with in walking distance to most places. Small and quaint hotel.
The garbage was picked up at 6:30am right outside my room window and it took them 15 minutes of beeping to hand load all the garbage. Also there was no coffee maker or microwave in the room.
