Staff very helpful. Carried our bags upstairs immediately. Breakfast in restaurant downstairs was delicious and presentation excellent. Very warm and friendly atmosphere. Young man at desk so very helpful. Could not ask for more. The Frontenac was right in front of our windows. Location could not have been better-- so much to see within steps from this hotel.
There was NOTHING to dislike.
The room was clean, wi-fi was readily available. This was the perfect location with the Frontenac Hotel across the park and the outdoor cafe sounds filling the room. My wife and I loved it and definitely would stay there again on our next visit to Quebec City.
The room overlooking the Frontanac and associated activity. The room itself!
The number of stairs to carry luggage up and down.
The location was great, and we were fortunate to have a room that looked out the front. It was great fun to watch the activities in the park, cafes and street from the window.
It was difficult to keep the window open because of the cigarette smoke wafting up from the cafe below. The bathroom, although chique & gorgeous & from the 21 century, had the worst lighting a bathroom could ever have. 3 micro lights, located to the right of the mirror & the sink! There was also little location in the bathroom to put down bathrobes, & toiletries. The actual room dated from the late 1970's, and looked like a strange assortment of yard sale furniture. The disconnect between the 2 rooms was very odd but very amusing.
Surprisingly quiet and comfortable. It felt very European.
No elevator. You had to climb stairs with your bags (no help) to get to the lobby.bags up and down myself. They did put us on the first floor, but I could not get my
Noisy at night
A charming "treasure " of a place. Centrally located with helpful staff and the dining area was welcoming with a wonderful atmosphere. Could have spent all day in there! But sightseeing beckoned. Would go there again.
No lifts! We had to carry our cases up and down stairs! However, Tim at reception was superman! He carried all our cases when we arrived.
The view from our two windows on the third floor was spectacular! We looked straight out on the Chateau Frontenac and the square of Place d'Arms. Most attractions a short walk away! The staff were friendly and helpful! Wonderful restaurants, shops, attractions and spectacular views are just steps out the front door. I checked neighboring hotel rates, this was the best value by far.
Was not a problem for us but many stairs to climb, the hotel is on the second and third levels of the building, a restaurant is on the bottom level. It is an old hotel, rooms are small and plain but this did not affect us.
We were unable to travel at the last minute. Thank you to the staff for their understanding as they took care of us. We will definitely look for a chance to stay in the future.
The location was great!! Breakfasts in the hotel dining room were awesome. The staff was very friendly and accommodating!
We ran out of hot water and 2 of us could not shower in the morning. We also ran out of toilet paper. No back up roll was left. Also since there were 4 of us there were not. Enough towels. We had to ask for more 2 days in a row. The carpet and paint are somewhat tired as well. I guess I just expected more ambiance in an old building.
The location was awesome, the breakfast at their restaurant was excellent
View from front room.Excellent restaurant.Friendly staff.
Bit tricky to reach by car.
Great location at a reasonable price
Since the hotel does not have elevators, or Bellmen, you have to carry your own luggage up two flights of stairs.
Perfect location to everything. Returns you to the 18th century feeling.
No view at all from back lodging room. Also, a little noise coming from somewhere early evening if you go to bed early. Sounds like pipes or pots and pans.
Great location - friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms!
Bit of a hike to get luggage up the stairs to the check in. Parking a few blocks away.
Bathroom was very cool. Reminded me of bathrooms in Iceland. There is no better location in Old Towne.
Room was small.
location, staff breakfast well worth the extra charge
Location on THE plaza in front of the grand Chauteau complete with restaurant and music on street...wow...the proverbial room with a view.Close to shopping and many great restaurants
You must climb one flight of stairs to reception and take your luggage
Location, location, location. Can't do much better than this. The staff were nice and helpful as well.
Our room was small and a bit out of date. No stairs, poor crib choice. Not ideal for parents with young children.
The location was perfect. Walked to everywhere, even in the rain we were fine with any distance. Cafe attached and wonderful staff.
No elevator, and little help for luggage assistance. Noisy at night in some rooms due to restaurant and music playing
the location excellant
TV is to small, stations are ok , operation of TV was lousey
The hotel is right in old Quebec steps from everything. The prices were pretty reasonable for the location. The rooms/bathrooms were clean.
No elevator and lots of stairs.
Excellent location with a very helpful staff
