Auberge du Vieux Port    

I absolutely loved this hotel. It was in a great location for seeing the St. Lawrence Seaway, and shopping boutiques, galleries, and restaurants, and pubs. The room was roomy and very comfortable. The shower was awesome.

The only problem I had, was on Friday and Saturday night, the streets were a madhouse of young people, making lots of racket until 3am , but still loved the place.

The staff was amazing! The cleanest lodging I've stayed in. Great location. Beautiful rooms. Comfortable beds, awesome shower! Loved it!

The adjoining restaurant could be a little higher end menu. And I didn't have time to stay another night.

Great staff, very knowledgeable, finds info on anything. Great location with lots of local activity. More than a weeks worth of activity within walking distance and Metro (subway system). Plenty of friendly English spoken. Good food but pricey in this historic area.

Stayed in the River view room. Not much of a river view; however, the beautiful large old windows opened up into the room and we sat and had champagne by the window watching the tourists, horse and buggies and even wedding pictures being taken. Made for a great "get away" ambiance. You could feel the city vibe in the air. Would book this room again.

Excellent Service

For the money the room was small.

Wonderful old building with exposed stone walls, wooden floors, very nice bed, great location in the Old Quarter of the Old Port area.

Should have been a small couch or lounge chairs to sit in. Only a desk chair and a large cushioned bench. Heat was not able to be controlled so ended up too warm. Windows to the water view were extremely dirty and really needed washing.

The hotel was wonderful; the bed was extremely comfortable, both the rooms and the lounge were well designed and welcoming; the staff was fabulous and went out of their way to be helpful. The location in the old part of the city was both convenient for us and still picturesque, as we were there for both business and pleasure.

Friendly front desk staff were pleasant and so helpful. Wonderful breakfast options. Duvet!!

It was great overall. if I had to make any recommendations I'd say the Pillows were a bit high. Perhaps a flatter option would be useful. Also there was no binder or info in the room about the hotel, services etc.

Incredible room: old beams, hardwood floors, bed and bedding to die for; tub and shower that pampered. Staff...top notch, best of the best.

Rooms a bit cold, could hear lots of noise 2-4am. From people outside on Rue St. Paul when bars closed.

When we arrived they told us breakfasts free until 11:30 AM however on Monday morning it was only offered to 10:30AM (which we weren't aware and were out late Sunday night....)

Location was perfect...for walking in Old Town and near-by; for access to Metro and therfore the City; for great restaurants. The design of this renovated building is very client thoughtful.....great wood working, nice fixtures, very comfortable beds, huge bathrooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everyone agreed we'd be back in an instant!

Very minor things...the clock in the room was off and couldn't figure out how to correct it....the flashing message light could never be turned off (or at least the staff didn't know how to do it)....you might need a lesson on working the fabulous shower heads (all 5 of them!).

Spacy, clean and comfortable room and bathroom.

Breakfast was really disappointing: poor choice and quality. Service during breakfast was close to nothing. No value for money!

Walls were not sound proof, hear the snow being being removed all early morning. Saw a bath on photos but none was in my room once I got there.

We stayed in the new swction (room 207). These rooms are too small to practice yoga or do anything else in. Would recommend with a proviso only if the older rooms were available.

Beautiful old converted warehouse across from the ports in old Montreal. All the latest ammenities and updates. Beautiful bedding and mattress. However the pillows are too large and uncomfortable.Exposed beams and brick. Nice bathtub unfortunately my Jacuzzi tub did not work. It was very cold in Montreal when I visited and they added an extra heater in the room. There is no coffee maker in the room although coffee and tea were available in the lobby at no charge. Nice restaurant in the hotel and breakfast was included. Lovely view from the room and I was upgraded to a king room at no extra charge.

Pillows to hard. Loud music from the restaurant could be heard in the room but it did not go on too late.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel recently. We liked the fact that it was in the old Montreal which we have never stayed before and that it had lots of character such as brick walls, wood beams and wood floors. The staff was friendly

We had the worst sleep that we've ever had in a hotel. Firstly the bed mattress was extremely soft. I felt like we were sleeping on a waterbed. The worst part though was that it snowed overnight and all night long we heard the scraping of bulldozers in front of the hotel. The noise was just excruciating and awful. It seems that there is a parking lot across the street and all night long they were clearing the lot. I felt like we were in a war zone. I would not recommend anyone stay here if you anticipate a snowfall. I think their windows are poorly sound proofed. When I mentioned this the morning after to the receptionist, she just smiled and said yes, it can be noisy. Sorry for this.

Wonderful accomodations, veryhelpful staff.

The design is very nice and cosy - stone covered walls and huge wooden beams on the ceiling, old building itself are all adorable The staff is very friendly! The location is also great - right in the middle of an old town

Rooms are queit small and in winter (we visited right after Christmas time) it gets awfully cold in the rooms - the windows simply do not have any insulation - the heating system couldn't cope with it. additional heaters do help either, so we actually got cold within the two nights of our stay....

The rooms are gorgeous, with their stone walls and wooden beams. And the staff were immensely accommodating. We needed to stay an extra night due to bad weather, and were extremely pleased that this could be arranged without our needing to even change rooms.
