Score from 479 reviews Excellent
The setting/location was absolutely stunning. Peace and tranquility was excellent and exactly what we were looking for.
Having stayed in other Relais & Chateaux hotels we had expectations of overall excellence which this hotel did not provide. The swimming pool area appeared tired and run down, there were no pool towels and the telephone to reception did not work so we had to walk back to reception in our robes to gain some. The sauna did not work effectively. No wi-fi in our room and noisy air-con. An overall feeling of tiredness prevailed.
The staff was very friendly but not very knowledgeable about the area.
The room was large but a the linens were old and ratty, the bed lumpy and the pillows awful. Dinner was terrible--wrinkly peas and dried up cod. We had to carry our own heavy suitcases up and down the stairs. The milk for tea was bad--lumpy. The bathroom vanity was chipped paint and the hot water faucet made a screeching sound when turned on. The maid service made the bed and cleaned the bathroom but didn't bother hanging up the bathrobes
Spendid view - Exceptionnally quiet - Super confort. Rooms are large, bed quality at the top.
No fitness center
location; size of rooms; view
grounds need upkeeping; staff was friendly but not always efficient
Wine list too high Almost nothing under $120. Dîner, Way to long to serve
