Auberge Montebello  

The room and hotel was immaculate. Our room and ensuite were both ver large with everything we needed.

Our room was very dark with 40 watt bulbs in each bedside lamp and one low wattage bulb in the high ceiling fixture. It made it impossible to read in th eevening. The dining room at breakfast was also very dim. I applaud the hotel's efforts to conserve energy but this was too much.

Breakfast was great, but this place badly needs to be renewed; The window drapes belong to the 1800's, the carpets were stained, the mattress was hard, the pillows hard cheap rubber, blanket was stained, housekeeping cart was left in main hallway all day, checking in and checking out took well over 10 minutes, records were not updated to show length of stay. At checkout, she was going to charge us $119. for our $99. room, and clerk was snappish when we complained.

The staff were a delight but the hotel is dated and very tired. I would not stay there again.

The food was good, the area is charming and the rooms are tidy.

The room was bizarre in configuration. It was very long and narrow. Only had a double bed in the superior room

Simple, but clean and pretty with breakfast included and a rooftop pool/hot tub. Great value.

Some blinds missing in room made It hard to sleep.

I didn't like the reception we received. The person on the desk was highly controlling and unkind. The room was clean but did not reflect the picture on bookit. It was misleading. When I questioned the the reception person, she told me I couldn't see another room as it was sold out. I went online and there were still rooms available so she was lying to me. They overcharged me for our room as I have CAA membership. I was told it was honoured but my bill did not reflect it. When I questioned her on it, she got frustrated with me but finally handed me some money. It was less than the discount I should have received, but I was just glad to get out of there. I should have read previous reviews!!

I thought our room was very nice , I loved the decor and loved the bathroom. I was very disapointed in the location as we were in the front of the hotel and the street noise kept us up all night. Also we could not get the shower to work

They offered a great continental breakfast and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Great value for the price.

The poor cleanliness of my room: there was a stain on my cheet, the shower curtain was dirty and smelled bad. There were too much carpets and wallpapers in the room.

Great location, nice size of room, clean bathroom.

The view of the river was very nice and the pool was very relaxing.

Staff put us in large room on ground floor with comfortable couch and place to sit outside. Bed also comfortable and bath larger than many Canadian hotels. Not as close to river as I had anticipated but still quite a nice view of the river. Restaurant was closed but there are a couple of other good options nearby.

Nothing specific. A bit of a sense of "faded glory" but perhaps this was only due to the limited number of guests and the resulting closing of the restaurant and spa. Nothing wrong at all with the facilities themselves.
