Score from 793 reviews Very good
Highly secure building. Very clean with a homey feel.
Sketchy people walking the streets near the hotel at all hours
Breakfast ok and all staff friendly and helpful.Location in heart of Latin Quarter. Excellent for airport bus only one block away. Bed sheets clean. Quiet and felt safe.
Crockery dirty. Kitchenette had toaster, microwave and fridge, coffee maker (bring own filter papers) Felt like student digs room that had seen better days..scuff marks on walls, utilitarian furniture....threadbare towels. Little, natural leigh try in room (budget with kitchenette and desk).
I have nothing bad to say about the staff. They were also very welcoming and helpful. The place is calm and they have an amazing croissant in breakfast, the best I ever had.
The building is a little confusing... you're walking in the floor and finds a storage place, not separated from the bedrooms area. Weird but not problematic.
Fair I guess
You get what you pay for
Cleanliness, comfort, breakfast
Small rooms but it didn't bother us too much
It is on one of the main streets of Montreal with lots of restaurants. Close to the Metro station as well. Walking distance to the old port
Kitchen didn't have a burner for cooking.... but that didn't affect us as it had microwave.
very clean, very nice staff, good localization in le quartier latin, a lot restaurants around and metro. Very good price
The hotel itself is in the Latin Quarter of Montreal. A lot of bars and boutiques up and down the street. Very vibrant at night and lots of music playing everywhere. When looking at a hotel I think cleanliness and friendly staff are very important. The hotel was clean, and the staff were very friendly in answering any questions about the area and getting around.Being an anglophone wasn't a problem. The light in my room wasn't working.I informed the front desk and it was replaced immediately. Reception closes after 10PM. But you are given a card key to get into the building if you are out late sight seeing. The room and bathrooms are clean, and are cleaned daily including bedsheets. There are rooms with private bathrooms, but for my budget I opted for one of 4 units,2 per floor, with a shared bathroom and shower.Like a house bathroom, you just lock the door when in use. Breakfast was included. Coffee, orange juice, cereal, toast, and a free croissant. For solo traveler,I would recommend!
I found it odd that upon checking in, the receptionist didn't ask to verify my identity or a piece of photo ID after giving my name and reservation.Anyone knowing my name and check in date could have easily checked in under my name for free. My room had a desk in it. Upon returning to the hotel later that evening it was gone. For what reason? I wasn't notified. Loud band from the ground floor of hotel played after 12AM Friday night. Sound didn't vibrate through floor.I prepared for this with earplugs and had no problems.
They were ok with us having our dog stay with us in the room for a small charge. Was really hard to find a place in Montreal that allowed dogs and not to expensive. The room was ok and clean. Liked that it had a full kitchen. The staff was so helpful and nice! The man responsible for the breakfast helped me get tea late at night for no charge. Overall great stay for what it cost, would come back.
There was a weird smell when we walked into the room. It disappeared after a while when airing out.
I was in town for a soccer match. I didn't have much time to check in and the staff checked me in promptly. Room was cozy and utilitarian, but had a bed, a desk, and a shower. Close to the metro, and walking distance to plenty of restaurants. Solid place to crash after drinking in Montreal by day and by night. Slept very well. Would stay there again.
30second walk to everything is a nice feature.
I was charged the same rate here, as I was at the Intercontinental Hotel (which happened to be full). Night and day "bang for your buck". This hotel is not a $200/night hotel. It feels like a college dorm room.
The size of the room was ok with lots of extras like radio, air conditioning, extra pillows. The hotel is a safe place to stay: A++ We had a room with a shared bathroom which was fine because there was only three rooms on the flour. There were many stairs to reach the room but nothing outstanding. The breakfast was good with eggs, cold cereals, toasts/jam or peanut butter but folks who enjoy a good coffee must grab one outside this hotel. No fruits, no muffins, no cream for coffee.
The room was facing St-Denis street and expect lots of street traffic, people shouting most of the night unless to make sure your room will be located in the back of the hotel. We had to put the radio on all night to cut the noise. In the kitchen, in the evening, there is a jazz band playing late at night, serving drinks to tourists. If your room is next to the cabaret or on the third floor...make sure to bring ear plugs. Hotel is for low budget travellers but still expensive for a room/shared bathroom.
The air conditioning was incredible, it was very hot when we stayed in Montreal and so refreshing to come back to an ice cold room. The staff was very accommodating. The owner helped us carry our bags up stairs, let us store our baggage there after we checked out as our flight wasn't until nighttime and then called us a cab when we came to grab our bags. For breakfast they had freshly made croissants which were amazing. Room was incredibly clean and spacious. Great location (close to two metro stations) Good wifi connection Price was fairly reasonable
The location was great. Great night life. Tons of options for restaurants, cafes and bars. Three blocks from the metro. Breakfast was decent; hot croissants, cereal, eggs, toast and juice or milk. The staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. The rooms were dorm-like but very clean and had everything we needed.
Clean. Good location. The man that serves breakfast every morning was really nice, friendly and helpful.
The room was a bit small but really clean.
Loved the location, on St. Denis which is a very busy street but we didn't hear any street noise. Staff at the front desk were very friendly and the guy who served/monitored the breakfast was very nice. Bed was also very comfortable.
I had some issues with housekeeping. I requested a couple face cloths and a hand towel because all we were given were 2 regular towels and a bath mat. I was given 1 face cloth and 1 hand towel. The next day when housekeeping came in, they took the hand towel and our bath mat and didn't replenish either so we were only given two body towels, very disappointing considering our shower leaked so when we got out we had to step on the wet ground. We attended a music festival over 3 days so showering twice a day was a must. Also every time house keeping came in I would find a thick black hair, either on the bed, or on our towels - neither me or my fiancé have black hair! I thought that was pretty gross. Garbage wasn't changed and floors not swept - I used to do housekeeping so maybe my standards are a little higher but I think those should be done on a daily basis especially when there is only one garbage can in the whole room. Would stay here again, but was really not impressed with housekeeping.
We paid 130$ per night for our room that had a double bed. It's not luxurious so it didn't make me want to hang out in the room much. It's clean and basic but not fancy. Staff are excellent and recommended a bagel shop up the road w the most amazing egg sandwiches! On St Denis so excellent location. They have AC!
Tv is dated and small. It's not nicely decorated and the furniture is old. It just doesn't give you that "hotel feeling" that makes you unwind. If you're looking for a place to stay only, this place is good.
The staff was very helpful in helping us work around our repeated flight delays & cancellations. It made a stressful situation much more pleasant. The location is pretty much perfect: in the middle of a great, lively neighborhood surrounded by other great neighborhoods. From my room I could not hear anything from the street, so sleeping was peaceful and restful!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a very nice contintental breakfast with homemade croissants, tea (but 1.25$ for coffee) and cereal.
The shared bathrooms could have used a good cleaning. I wasn't happy that our toilet was clogged and not fixed until after breakfast either. There are a lot of stairs but if you're fit it shouldn't be a problem, just a hassle. Also the showers are old and scary (I wore sandals in them).
Very very convenient location. it is a bit of a shock, with all the bars and drunk people around at night, but there was no noise in the room.
Too dirty. And for the name (space confort) there was minimal space and minimal comfort! Also, don't bother with breakfast.
Location Quiet Small kitchennette Mostly nice staff
Room was ridiculously small, and there was a very strong farm/manure smell ( strange for downtown mtl..) Breakfast was awkward.. you have to ask for everythjng and they don't really seem happy that you are eating thier supplies! You only get 1 croissant and are told you will be charged if you want to eat more. watered down coffee was not great. We were initially happy this place included breakfast, but it so minimal and unpleasant we ate elsewhere. They appear to be struggling with this service and shouldn't offer breakfast if they can't afford to. Double mattress was thin and uneven and felt like a sofa bed. Did not sleep well although it was super quiet.
The people were kind and helpful
The shower is next to impossible to get in and out of unless you are skinny as a rail. The bathroom was falling apart literally...towel rack fell of the wall, the toilet and sink were lose.
Location is really good. Free breakfast was a bonus. Very clean room. Staff polite. Internet was very good.
Strange set up regarding the reception and getting into the hotel at night time. Room was an odd shape with very little floor space, i was expecting a flat screen tv but got a really small old one. A funny and not nice anti-septic smell in the corridors at all times but that's better than a dirty smell i guess.
The staff was friendly, Room was clean, The bathroom was shared with one other suite only, Location was great, walking distance to Old Montreal, and right next to the metro station.
The only downside was the noisy neighbourhood. The hotel is located next to many bars / clubs, so on weekends you won't have a quite night at least till 4 AM!
