Auberge Walker Inn  

Sam was our favourite hostess on our trip - a lovely, warm and very accommodating lady. We had a drink with her in her sitting room and enjoyed good conversation. The room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was very good. We would definitely go back.

If you are elderly and don't relish climbing a lot of stairs, make sure your reservation calls for a room on the first floor.

The staff was exceptional: well organized, knowledgeable and very interesting. Pictou is an interesting, but quite, town, with a dynamic history. The room was comfortable, the breakfast excellent and the recommended Thai restaurant for dinner was also excellent.

Nothing - it was great

Spiffy and quaint, quirky and tasteful and near everything. Nice dog, too. Downtown Pictou, NS but just a little off the stretch so quiet enough. 4th floor no elevators so pack light or be prepared to hup.

Sam was very hospitable, we very much enjoyed our quick overnight stay in Pictou. There is a delicous pizzeria accross the street, a fun pub another block away, as well as the waterfront which is just a little further. The rooms were very clean. Breakfast was tasty, so all in all the price can't be beat. This is not the W or some big hotel chain, so baring that in mind this is really a 5/5.

My wife and I stayed at the fabulous Auberge Walker Inn at the start of the Pictou Lobster Carnival and have nothing but positive things to say about this hotel. Sam, the owner, is simply a delight. Her dog Hannah (I hope the spelling is correct) keeps a watchful eye on the front desk. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.

Nous avons aimé le vieux style de l'auberge et la réception parle en Français.

Pas trop de temps pour le déjeuner (ferme à 9.30 am) et les douches trop petit (pas de place à bouger)

Mooie oude Auberge. Een eigenaresse uit de 18e eeuw. Buitenkanbt viel tegen, maar binnen was het prima.

Het ontbijt was wat karig.

The owner was very helpful and provided good storage for our bikes.

Good location steps to the water front 5 minute drive to the Ferry.

Rooms are a bit small. The 4 flights of stairs was a bit tiring. Going up and down 3 times is a lot of work. If you are old i would avoid this place, the rooms are on either the 3rd floor or 4th floor. Some rooms have A/C some don't. Not really necessary most nights in this area but we did get one of the hotter days when we were there. The ceiling fan did the job but it felt slightly muggy, A/C would have helped.

It had a lot of character. The innkeeper was very welcoming and made us feel at home.

The logging trucks that were running up and down the street were very noisy and it was very difficult to sleep. We were told that they ran only the weekend we were there. The trucks stopped at 11 PM and started again at 7 AM.
