Wonderful experience! Rafael is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent! A good variety to suit any taste or dietary concern. Highly recommend!
Great location, with easy access to the transit system, both streetcars and underground, as well as to the downtown attractions. Close to good restaurants and bars as well in the gat village. Breakfast was great, Rafael was an excellent host. The bed was comfortable and the room was of a nice size. It was on a quiet street, despite its location so that made for a good night's sleep.
I didn't care for the shared bathroom but it was clean and mostly available especially since the house was not fully occupied.
A very cozy place with a home sweet home feeling. The owner did his best to make the guests feel comfortable, any minor questions can be shared at all time and he does his best to make it right. BTW, the house's name has a historical origin: this place was owned by Frederick Banting, the doctor who invented insulin! There's even a photo of Banting on the desk facing the doorway.
Comfy bed Great breakfast
Shared bathroom Small parking
Good location, only take few minutes to walk to subway station, really quite at night. Room is lovely and host there is very very nice.
I like the casual atmosphere, the history and beauty of the house, graciousness of the host, location, parking, back yard, decor, non hovering of the host, yummy breakfast.
Too few bathrooms!!!! Sharing is okay but you practically need a bakery numbers system to use the wc. Moooooore baaaaaaathrooms.
Warm service by the owner. It was like staying in a friend's house
Shared bath. Make sure that you bring your own personal hygiene care products.
Rafael is a very great host, he took the time to give us many advices about the city... We were upgraded for free in a beautiful large room with private bathroom. The breakfast is delicious with evrything you needs and pancakes or eggs prepared on demande. The location: 5 minutes to the Subway but you can go everywhere downtown by foot
Horrible treatment by staff that got me so upset I left the B&B without even eating breakfast. Would never consider staying there again. Booking form said checkin till 9pm. Arrived at 8.30pm to find no staff. Message in envelope told me I'd been "upgraded to a semi-private attached bathroom". Turned out to be a dingy basement room ("Upper Canada"). Had to walk through kitchen and over old stained carpets and through dark passageway to get to dim room, which reminded me of student digs. Lots of fresh wood shavings just inside the door. "Semi-private attached bathroom" meant other doors led to bathroom, no way to know if others would walk in if I showered. Lots of buckets underneath sink, but no water. Called the cellphone "help line" to talk to Greg and asked for the room to be cleaned and for instructions on how to use the bathroom safely. Greg said he would take care of things and try to get my room changed. I asked him to call me back. He didn't. Returned to B&B at 11.30pm to find Rafi on duty. Said he couldn't clean the room while I was away because I'd taken the key. Showed me how to use the bathroom and said I had to use a different sink and toilet (also dingy). I told him the room did not meet my expectations. He said he would try to find other guests to switch with me but came back saying it was too late - but if only I'd told him earlier he could have done something! So I pointed out that I'd told Greg about the problems 3 hours earlier and Greg hadn't rung me back. Ah, but you checked in late said Rafi. He insisted checkin did not extend until 9pm, so I showed him the printout saying it does - then he changed the subject. Could hear every movement of people walking above me the next morning. Can't remember the last time I felt so bad about spending $135.
house style & atmosphere breakfast
wifi did not work
Everything is so clean, employees are nice and caring, no stress at all there, it's like coming home. It's located on a quiet street, 10 min walk from downtown Toronto
Good location (20-25 minute walk or <5 minute cab ride). Good staff. Great breakfast.
We had to share the bathroom with other guests on the floor; though it was very clean, one could not go in anytime one wanted. The rooms and halls were clean but dated. My wife is a 4 star hotel" person and thus the B&B in general, is not for her.
Banting hotel is awesome！The hotel is clean，convenient located, and It offers good breakfast.Landlord Rafael is very friendly. This hotel provides 5 stars hotel service, but also gives me the feeling of home. I strongly recommend this hotel.
great location. much to do in nearby area
our car was parked in the driveway but we were charged $13 per day to use it (street parking was permit only and therefore was not an option)
Very nice place. Beautiful house in a good and calm location not far from downton !
I stayed on 3rd floor queen room. Bed was very comfy, slept like a baby. Inn is situated on lovely quite street. There is a school next door which can get noisy, if you are planning to sleep late then bring ear plugs. Bathroom was nice and clean with powerful shower. I felt safe staying as a female traveling solo. Rafael and other staff hospitality was incredible. Rafeal was very helpful and informative. I was able to leave my luggage safely for few hours in storage. Breakfast was good, eggs and pancakes, bread, cereal.
Nothing at all
Room was spacious, clean and had character. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious. The shared bathroom was updated and the shower was really nice.
TV was really small.
Staff very friendly and accommodating. was a quiet night sleep.
The bathrooms were not that clean and were very old. Room was really small and hot a lot of dust was on the floors and baseboards.
Location was good. Owner lived on site and was very attentive to the guests.
Scott is an excellent host, and the house is really nice.
Everything was OK!
Great breakfast, very nice host, very lovely rooms.
