The room is neat and clean，the location is convenient and worth the price
Wifi was too slow from the room，you have to go to the hallway which is cold during winter. The heat is not comfortable neither
Spacious clean room, comfortable bed, basic hotel well positioned
poor breakfast in a cold bunker, not included in price so eat out!
Room cold, heaters old. Restaurant cold!
The location was perfectly convenient. It's along Robson St w/plenty of shops to dine and pass the time. Also a mere 20-minutes pleasant walk to Canada Place and to its north side are plenty of shops to rent bicycles for strolling Stanley Park.
I found it gross that both beds and two pillows had strands of hair. Luckily, I brought my lint roller so I didn't bother to change rooms. The writing desk in my room was somewhat unstable, I think it's just cheap furniture and assembly points have to be tightened.
Location is very good, staff also very helpful
The noise propagation through walls and ceiling is terrible, one can hear almost everything happening in adjacent rooms
Location very convenient
Bed uncomfortable very noisy in the hallway you can here footsteps, people talking, next door..washroom so small.. For 3stars they should have at least complimentary coffee.. I don't think this is 3 stars
location, price, helpfulness of staff. there is no elevator but they always carry my suitcase up for me like it weighs nothing
what's not to like? I guess the no elevator is a bit of an issue but I can do stairs and they carry the luggage so not really a problem at all
The check-in was done quickly and easily, the personnel was friendly when I arrived late. The location is superb, you will find all you need and want to see within some minutes on foot.
In the room there were some obviously half-done repairs and some equipment would need replacement. In particular: Missing screws, clearly visible drill holes and burnt spots (probably caused by cigarettes) in the curtain.
Great location, good staff and value for money
The location is very central. If you like prostitutes and drugs then this is for you
The staff were rude and unhelpful. The WiFi rarely worked. The rooms were unheated, broken windows and the place was dirty. Only use if you are desperate. I will never stay there again. A Nightmare
Chillings agus pipage
Proximity for easy access to most areas of the city. The facility was very clean. The room had a great view. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Getting charged on a 1:1 ratio for my American dollars is a ripoff and it is a bad policy which I have seen nowhere else in all of Canada. My room started at less than $48 USD per night, so the total should be around $100 right? Wrong. There are tons of taxes too. Fine, that is standard. But it still should have cost me $120 USD. But since the Canadian charge equals out to $150 CAD, they charged me for $150 USD since they have a fixed ratio. So what I anticipated to be slightly over $100 turned into $150. Still a good deal for the accommodations we received, but all the same, when I budget for one amount and am charged much more, that is a pain.
Great location and friendly staff
Unfortunately the day we checked in the hotel had been broken into and police were all over the show and no staff were able to explain what was happening. At times there was a strong smell of marijuana
Friendly front desk
Pop machine was broken
- location - value for money - space - bed
- cold shower / smell in the room - police officers in the lobbies - issues with payments - parking outside
Very central Comfy beds Helpful staff
Very low budget feel
Location and cleanliness were superb. We were given a free upgrade upon arrival, so we stayed in a suite with a street view. We could hear the road noise, but the bed was comfy and we were tired after our long days so it didn't bother us. Also, it looked like the room had been recently renovated. We would absolutely stay here again!
The door to the room was not very secure and a lot of hall light entered through the cracks. However, we did not feel unsecure staying at this hotel. Also, on a Saturday morning house keeping came to our room around 9am. We asked them to come back later in the day and they came back about an hour later. This was a bit bothersome.
was upgraded to a suite at back of hotel. King size bed was nice surprise as others checking in were asking for a larger room as standard rooms are apparently quite small.
no elevator or ramp for easy access with large suitcase
Only a minor problem but the pillows were very flat so I had a bit of a sore neck. With 2 pillows together it was too high. Other than that, great hotel.
I found my stay there to be quite good cannot beat the price . I would stay at the Barclay hotel again. Accommodation was comfortable
Beds could be more comfortable and my bed sheet top duvet had homes in it. The bathroom ceiling paint was chipping quite bad and was surprised that staff did not notice it quite some time ago to have it fixed
Incredible that a nice, clean hotel on Robson Street for $70. Unbelievable! Friendly staff. Georgia the bartender was really cool!
Really nothing to dislike
great location to see all parts of the city by foot, room ok, bathroom with tub and bed super comfortable!
Room was clean and the cleaning staff kept it so everyday. Internet speed was good. The location is amazing, offers access to everything you need, either by foot, public transit or car. We don't think you can find a better hotel downtown Vancouver for these prices.
(small detail) overnight car parking is 10$ although you park your car in a very exposed space. No elevator - might be difficult if you have big, heavy luggage or if you are suffering from a disability.
Very conveniently located, friendly staff, good room overall.
The noise. This was a really serious problem. I was initially staying on the first floor, and I could scarcely sleep. It is very close to the reception, and you keep hearing conversations all night. In addition, the breakfast room functions as a bar with loud music and very loud conversations until 1 AM. I managed to relocate to the 3rd floor where these problems were minimized. There was still some noise problem though: the hallways are not carpeted, so whenever someone walks by or pulls a suitcase it's quite loud.
