Location was good and the place was well looked after.
Hallway light shone through the door jam.
walls are like paper
daily change of towels! who does it nowadays??
The bar below had friendly staff and the hotel is in a good position close to a lot of shops
The room was fairly small
the stay was good value
small glasses in room long trip for ice . thinking a small continental breakfast might garnish more customers .just a thought.
A budget priced hotel, with all you need, in a very convenient location with really lovely staff. Perfectly clean, welcoming.and professional.
Would have loved a kettle for a cup of tea in my room but it seems usual to not have this in most hotel accommodation in Canadia & the USA. There is a 7-11 within easy walking distance however.
BAD SMELL AT THE RECEPTION DIRTY CARPET
The place is clean and towels/sheets get replaced every day. It has an excellent location and it even has parking(10$/day).
Parking is not free and I was very lucky to get it: they only have a handful of lots available(like 10 or so) Rooms are very small. Vancouver rooms are small on average, but that one impressed me. Wifi was on and off. You wouldn't rely on it to do any work or calling. The place is very "thin": you can hear everything happening on your floor(yeah, you know what I mean). No wonder as your door has a huge affordance between itself and the floor. And it's like 3 meters from your bed :). Doors and walls are "renovated" with fresh paint, but show lots of wear. I did not have to use AC, but the rain falling on it(it's metal and stuck in your window) kept me awake all night, until I covered it with a towel. I did not use the TV, but I must admit it's almost the size of your tablet. And finally the bed frame was squeaky as hell. Everywhere in the hotel.
noisy corridors..no slippers..no new beddings for us
The hotel was clean, the room was good sized and the staff was helpful.
Bed bath and shower.
No tea coffee facilities.
the noise level tolerable No hallway noise. Very close to many attractions
Good location; walking distance to beach, shops, bars and restaurants Good self-catering facilities (kettle, microwave, full oven and hob, kettle, large fridge freezer, dining table etc), if not a little old. Large room with seperate kitchen, bathroom and bedroom Additional heater/electric radiator Cable tv and wifi access
A bit old fashioned and run down (rusty plug hole, old carpets and peeling wall paint, old sheets, single glazed window, old furniture etc) Hard to find: sign outside hotel isn't visible immediately - I walked past it once whilst trying to find it for the first time. Tea, coffee and hot choc maker at entrance to lift in reception was handy, but loose tea bags and coffee mate were just left in a basket on top if the microwave in the room and looked like a fist-full had been pulled out of a multi pack (not labelled what kind of tea it was, and I didn't trust using them to make a drink because they were open to air and old looking. A small thing, but it just generally gave the place a bit of a sloppy, unprofessional feel.
Good location, close to City Center, stanley Park...,nice staff,is nicer from the inside
No elevator, long black hairs on the bathroom Walls and floor, which surely weren't mine, the cleaning team really has to up their game...
The location was fantastic I was in Vancouver for 3 days to see the city and was able to walk everywhere.
We stayed at Barclays for 4 days before moving into a permanent place to settle in Vancouver. The room is small but had everything we needed, even enough storage for our 4 large suitcases. Good value for money!
facilities bit old
Friendly staff, clean, quiet (we were at the back) Bed was comfortable. Close to some excellent restaurants and walking distance to BC Place.
Coffee pot would've been nice but you can get coffee downstairs.
the room was small but met my standards for cleanliness and as I only slept there, I felt the value was good.
The bath tub had not been calked around so concerns for mold. there was no comfortable chair in the room to watch a bit of tv, or read as there was only one lamp.
I thought that the location was fantastic and the rooms were adequate for a solo traveller.
This is an old hotels so the rooms could have been a little more soundproof and my particular room didn't have much of a view.
Shops, restaurants, car rentals are all around. Staff is very friendly, courteous and willing to help. Wi-Fi is free and has good coverage and strength.
The bad is that air conditioning does not have heating mode and they turn central heating on only when it's really cold.
We found this hotel to be what we needed. Only thing missing was coffee in the room.
The room was nothing fancy and not a lot of space, but it was comfy and clean with nice character. The space was well utilized (all the regular amenities with less empty space) and was really all I needed.
It was noisy pulling my wheeled luggage over the tiled floor and I worried about the noise created for the other guests - especially because it was late at night when I arrived.
Location is excellent! I think if you are looking for a budget friendly hotel this a wonderful choice. I stayed in the single room. I had a full size bad, a small flat screen TV and an open shelf with a bar to hang clothes. Bathroom was good size and updated. Window faced side of the building so there was no street noise.
No elevator. Bed and pillows need to be replaced! Halls can be a bit noisy.
The availability of parking behind the hotel is very convenient; we have never had a problem leaving our vehicle their for our entire stay and walking or using public transit; much easier.
The bar and/or breakfast area downstairs certainly could use a facelift.
