Lack of pop machine Couln't light fire log (matches didn't work)
Beautiful location on a lake with gorgeous trees in Autumn. Very comfortable beds. Got a good night's sleep.
There was no wifii reception throughout our weekend in our room. My adult son was upset about that. The lunch buffet was overpriced for very limited selection of items. A lot of the common areas are run down and in need of an updated look.
It was quiet. We had just buried an immediate family member and were looking for a place to have a moment. The quiet, view, fireplace, trail through the woods managed to restore us for a little bit. It was perfect.
The train was a little noisy but not a big deal. Having to make reservations for breakfast.
The tranquility was very relaxing. The staff was very accommodating and did whatever they could to ensure satisfaction. The view of the lake was beautiful. The dining room had a wonderful setting. The buffet breakfast was excellent and included an omellete station, fresh fruit, delicious Danish etc..The Muskoka chairs available for relaxing by the lake were appreciated. The patio doors/windows overlooking the lake allowed the room to be bright. The fireplace was a nice touch.
The $129. rate rooms were not nice. The $159. rooms were much better but over-priced. The windows in the dining room are upside down. The view is obstructed by the window bar. The train that is very close to the property. Luckily our windows were closed so disruption was minimal. The bathroom light and fan are on the same switch so it's impossible to shut off the fan noise.
Location is a beautiful place
Room is disgusting! Bedding was dirty .. It had a spot the size of a loonie that was dried up sperm, two very long black hair in the bed, blood stain the size of a baseball on the mattress and other stains.. The facility is very run down.. Needs to be updated, needs maintaining.. Also the pools were dirty, and the maintance guy told me they do not clean the hot tub or pool regularly.. It's a beautiful spot but I was very disappointed
The setting by the lake was great! The swimming area and pool was good. The queen suite was spacious and clean. Good view.
The biggest disappointment was the restaurant. The quality of the cooking was really poor - the food was too salty overall, the flavours unexciting, the fish was overcooked, and even the kid's buffet fries and buns at the table were stale. Not what we were expecting from an upscale dining room that charges upscale prices!!
beautiful setting relaxed atmosphere great food & service
the train is a disturbance to sleep
Staff were all very friendly and accommodating, e.g. we ate in the dining room two evenings, purchased our own food and beverage for our 3rd evening, they kindly gave us plates, cutlery, napkins and wine glasses, very much appreciated, thank you again
We enjoyed our weekend. We wanted a relaxing quiet weekend and enjoyed every minute.
The trains passing through the night
Staff was great food was excellent room was amazing and facilities and what they had to offer was just amazing loved snow shoein
That I had to leave
Great location on the lake, beautiful scenery...
Way overpriced, outdated, rooms need new heating system, very dry and loud. Staff were not knowledgable about snowmobile trails, but it was one of the best features of resort in winter, no maps provided either. Terrible wi-fi connection... Room was VERY overpriced compared to a room in muskoka, same with the food
there was a very busy rail line no less than 75 feet from the two main buildings. This line was both a cargo and passenger line so was constantly in use, in fact there was a train go by as early as 7:45 am Sunday morning. It would have been nice to know this before arriving!
Finishes in the room were below standard. Small details would have gone a long way.
The atmosphere and the rooms were great
Hot tub could be hotter and cleaner.
